I don't have any debt but I just forgot to keep living, It's when I begun to live inside my room and never leave, I let go of everything that made me who I was and became obsessed with chasing a dream of having just enough money to be able to finally start my life. buy what I needed to start my dream career instead of just actually starting it. I’m still holding shib I put 2K (it’s probably down to 800 or something now) I throw on it because I made a bet with some weeb here that it had another ATH pump to .0001 in it. It doesn’t, but the bet was that I would hold to 0 or if I won I’d pay for his troon bottom op and marry his Poor-to-Rican ass. Neither of those are very appealing and honestly I was doing a lot of drugs at the time. Still not selling.

I use to work as a meltroom operator for a private minting company that handled a lot of gov minting contracts. We would get shipments of 1k bars on pallets regularly. The 1k bars included were from every precious metal refinery you could think of Perth mint, Asahi, pamp, JM bullion ect. During one rotation while getting ready to place three bars in the furnace I came across two bars stamped bunker hill with the date 1967. I just stared at them in disbelief and hesitated for minute while telling myself , these things belong in a museum. I was already committed to putting them in furnace because the copper made up for the bars to maintain the purity at .999 was already added. I still regret melting a piece of history that could have been appreciated for years to come.

I lost a third of my link stack (4k) on futures when it went from 24+ to 7 in a single night. That was way before it reached ATH.

My original position was 1k link. I woke up randomly in the middle of the night, panicked and kept adding like a dumbass thinking it can't dip below 10. My life would be different if I just slept through that night.

In 2021 I forced every one of my employees to get vaccinated if they wanted to keep their jobs.
They all complied. Rolled up their sleeves, no questions asked.
Then the governor dropped an executive order banning vaccine mandates.
Too late. They were already mine.

That's part of what made it such a rare opportunity: I only had to put in 1K (considered 3K) to the Toshi dip on October 9th 2023. I looked right at it and turned away at the final moment.
I'm not the type to panic sell because of a dip so I would've held. I believed the project would recover and climb higher, it just did so way sooner than I expected. Of course, past performance is not indicative of future results, etc.
Even believing in it was part of me deciding to play it safe: I figured if it's going where I think then I don't need to put more into my existing position. That position will likely turn out quite nicely, but I could've done so much better if I'd added to it on that day.

I lost $10 000 on Polymarket during one of my first bets because I did not understand the interface.

For something where I was leaning mildly "this has a decent probability" (it was a multi-bracket event, not a binary "yes/no" event, I had multiple positions), I bought a few shares and I intended for it to be just $1000. But I didn't yet understand how limit orders in the context of a prediction market and the interface for them work (I'd have been fine if I bought instantly at market rates). I accidentally opened too many buy orders and went to sleep, and the next morning the likelihood had shifted dramatically unfavorably and they were now worth much less. I calculated with a $1000 dollar loss for that bracket, so I already priced that in, but I didn't calc with a $10 000 position on this shit-likelihood bracket.

(Also nowadays I find even my original $1000 was too much.)
