Is there any money to be made in caving? I understand that if people cave and they don't find anything, they make youtube videos and post about it online et cetera. But I can also imagine that there a lot of cavers who struck gold or some diamonds or something and never told anyone. They just get into the cave, get the valuables out and get rich? Maybe go in again to get more?

There's of course no evidence of this as anyone telling about their valuable cave would see it looted very fast. So they keep it a secret? Could this be? Or is this just a conspiracy theory? Is caving just an unconscious search for some sort of valuable and anyone still doing it as a hobby hasn't gotten rich yet?

I have no interest in caving. Just curious if there's money to be made. I can't believe they all do it just as a hobby. There must be some explorers who actually found gold or something? Why else risk your life to go into a hole? You must *want* to find something.

If they don't find anything, it's a hobby. But some must have gotten rich from it? It's like boxing or soccer. Lots of people play to hope and make money from it yet not many do and they just do it as a hobby.

'Supergiant' gold deposit discovered in China is one of the largest on Earth and is worth more than $80 billion

I have no reason to believe of all those cavers, nobody ever struck gold.

Gold and diamonds have to be mined. You don't just find a clump of gold or a diamond rock lying around in a cave little zoom zoom

is that really what stone looks like now in minecraft? holy fuck that shit is ugly
>>

I'm aware but you still have to find the gold. Read the article. Imagine caving somewhere and finding a big space where gold is. Sure it needs to be mined but it's possible right?

The rescue operations to save these imbeciles costs 100s of thousands. So yes, someone is earning money on it

Well, you could start a company selling helmets and harnesses and ropes and lubricant to cave explorers.

Which imbeciles? I don't recognize the photo.

Underwater caves in particular are full of pirate treasure

I might be completely wrong but I don't think there are many gold deposits in limestone/karst formations.

It's deepslate they made total world depth deeper and where previously was bedrock now deepslate begins and is like a layer and now bedrock is below the deepslate. It's not as bad as this diorite andesite and granite shit they pulled
