>>60886883If I was retired I'd >Learn an instrument >Read>Write a novel>Beekeep and homestead >Record animals I feed in my backyard in 4K and edit the footage >Listen to baseball on the radio while I sit on my porch with my gf>Start a small business of sorts(farmers market stand tier)>Travel >Lift and get back into jogging >Shit post >Have kids>Be in a darts league >Golf routinely I'd be so busy

>>60886922Yeah, if you're not already doing it in your free time outside of work it's unlikely you'll do it when you retire. If I extrapolate what I do in my free time now to what I'd do in retirement, I imagine a typical week would look something like>30 hours mix of vidya/streamers/movies/tv/youtube>30 hours of creative hobbies>30 hours of doomscrolling/shitposting>10 hours of visiting friends/family/going outBut of course I tell myself once I reach retirement I'll restructure my life, wake up early and workout at least one hour a day, and healthmaxx the food I eat, hire a personal trainer, maybe completely dedicated my 30s to becoming an "athlete".So why not do that now? No motivation to get started and no discipline to stick with it.I know I should do it, I know I'm wasting my potential and my youngest years by not doing it and setting myself up for further problems later on, but I still can't bring myself to do it when most of my week is wasted getting ready to work, going to work, working, returning from work, and recovering from work. Would that actually change if I was retired? I can only hope. That said, I do think I'd go out of my way to not doomscroll so much, I feel like I do it now as a cope because I feel like I have to maximize my dopamine in the little free time I have before I have to go back to work, and it's low energy and easy to do compared to creative hobbies.
>>60886922Not really, I already still do a lot of that stuff with my 140k job
>>60886883You’re going to get robbed at gunpoint by melanated individuals
>>60887226I legit would work out and get really healthy if I didn’t have to work. During Covid when I was laid off I worked out religiously for an hour a day and got super in shape, I kept the habit too until I got a full time job again.
>>60887390Based.Interesting how working full time acted as a barrier to being healthy and working out for you as well. I wonder why that is.Maybe a mix of not doing anything else or boredom that you feel you might as well be healthy? Just having the time to put to use?I've been working non-stop without taking a vacation for more than 3 weeks over the past 13 years and I've gone from overweight to obese and it keeps getting worse. But I'm 80% to my make it number and if I quit now finding another similar paying job will be hard. So hopefully just 2-3 more years to go. If crypto goes up 30-40% maybe I can quit this year.Even then, I wonder if I'll have the courage to quit my job, with a make it number of 1.3m, sure that will comfortably cover my expenses, but it also means stagnation on my material life, not buying a house, renting forever, and probably driving my honda civic for another 10-20 years or until it breaks.None of that really means anything if I'm dead though, so I guess it's better to quit once I hit my number and change my life rather than try to keep working for more.
>>60886883Dumb boomer. I worked for two decades and haven't gotten bored ONE fucking day on my three year neet arc.
>>60887488Yeah for me it’s totally the time, I don’t have the money to say fuck you I’m going to the gym at 3 every day fire me if you care, therefore I don’t have the time.Good to hear you have a goal anon, I would hit your goal yeah and get in shape first thing, I really miss how clear I thought when I was more in shape.
>>60886883good luck, unless you live in a good city your gonna only be making like 40 dollars-80 dollars profit working the whole day. its such a shit job, and then you get one fcuking stupif order at apartnments you cant find. or looking for someone who wants it delivered in theri hand, and the umpatient fcuks keep calling and calling you and acting all mad....
