The entire point of tariffs is to cease importing goods from overseas and instead manufacture them in the US so that you don't need to pay more to buy the product since you're buying a product domestically. So, if that happened, let's say there was some renaissance in American manufacturing, wouldn't that mean tariff revenue would drop like a rock off a cliff? There's no long-term plan with tariffs. It makes no sense to just keep a tariff on forever to generate revenue when the entire purpose of using tariffs in the first place is to stop companies from importing goods from overseas. Otherwise the tariff then just becomes a tax itself on Americans long-term and prices for imported goods is never going to decrease and the domestic competition is never going to be as cheap even with tariffs. What is the point of doing all this in the first place, it makes no sense. and that's beside the point anyways, because you're never going to come close to generating the amount of revenue that is generated with income taxes with tariffs alone unless you plan on bring tariffs up 50%+ on all imports, even then you likely won't be able to generate the necessary revenue to fund the government even if you slashed multiple agencies and other expenditures, only if you cut the military would you maybe be able to make it work but that's never going to happen.

Here's the thing about replacing federal income tax which, despite loopholes is still generally progressive in the sense that the more income you make the higher your tax bracket, with a regressive consumption tax: it shifts tax burden primarily towards those who have the least disposable income to give and simultaneously the least to gain from a stable society (or lose from an unstable one). It lets the merchant/usurist class shirk their existing tax burden, AND they still have the market power to pass on the new sales taxes, so they can effectively avoid that, too. This is all ignoring the fact that using tariffs specifically (as opposed to a general VAT/sales tax) is unsustainable, IF the tariffs are actually meant to be protectionist, because as your foreign producers stop selling to you (presumably because domestics have become more competitive), your tariff collections will evaporate.
