I honestly think I am. Or at least one major part of it. I try to ask questions and read the required documents but I still mess up. I've asked my manager for help but he re-directs me to different information sources and only steps in if there is a catastrophe.

On one hand, I get it if I suck, but if I'm trying and I'm not getting the coaching I need then I don't think I have any other options.

Git gud, or get another job I guess. There's not much that practice won't fix. What do you do, and what are you screwing up anyway?

Retail banking; Home Financing.
I'm fine doing anything else, but fuck anything with mortgages.

I don't really know anything about that, sorry. Are you missing quotas, bad signal ratio or something on your loans, screwing up processes and docs, what is it that you're struggling with, anon?
>>

Mostly docs, I think I've got the processes down.
The problem isn't even permanent. It's just that I'd plan everything out, then there would be one thing out of place as if it was a surprise, even if I ask internal help desks, even if I ask management or colleagues, even if I ask the AI.
The company's strategy is to throw people at the wall to see who sticks and it's not the way I would manage an organization.

I guess after so long of being losers, they forget what happens when you win the war.

Fake it till you make it or lateral move to an adjacent role. Your job experience probably qualifies you for other jobs within the company assuming you aren't a box kicker or something low skill. Companies always favor internal hires too, even if you aren't the best at your job.

If you throw spaghetti at the wall, the most tender noodles stick.

Byzantine paperwork sucks for sure, but realistically if you're making 'surprises' in this role I doubt it'd be any better with a lateral move inside the bank. Buddy up to mgmt until they promote you into their ranks. Until then, try not to make the same surprise twice.

Yeah, that's probably the best decision. I'm actually not bad at everything, and can even get near the top when it comes to other things like investments.

True regarding byzantine paperwork. Its just that the learning curve is unnecessarily sharp. It would be a stretch, but if for your first 3 loans there was a review then someone on your team could say "Hey, I realized that a few things are missing here. Before we can get this done I need x,y,z,a,b,c." That could honestly speed up the learning process. I know mimicry isn't the best education strategy, but I don't think "just figure it out bro" is either.
