Remember metaverse real estate investing?
>>
>>60923377
i cant imagine how anyone thought wii universe graphics and shitty controllers and massive placing problems would ever be a thing
nobody adopted the metaverse, nobody lol
the entire concept is retarded without a matrix tier neural link anyways
>>
>buy item
>get receipt for item, proving you own it
>item is destroyed
>receipt proves you own nothing

Stores should just stop issuing receipts I swear they're so dumb

They jumped the gun, thats all. AR is still going to be massive, especially with generative AI. And Elon just cornered the market on internet; we're going to be able to access a signal worldwide. Imagine the Holodeck-- Fucking EVERYWHERE. "Hey Grok, turn my street into the deck of a space ship. Now turn it into a haunted house. Now a prehistoric landscape with dinos everywhere."

Her logic is flawed and so is yours. You still own the item, just the burned out, destroyed version.

This.
Due to extensive research done by the League University of Science, diamond has been confirmed as the the hardest metal known the man. The research is as follows.
Pocket-protected scientists built a wall of iron and crashed a diamond car into it at 400 miles per hour, and the car was unharmed.
They then built a wall out of diamond and crashed a car made of iron moving at 400 miles an out into the wall, and the wall came out fine.
They then crashed a diamond car made of 400 miles per hour into a wall, and there were no survivors.
They crashed 400 miles per hour into a diamond travelling at iron car. Western New York was powerless for hours.
They rammed a wall of metal into a 400 mile per hour made of diamond, and the resulting explosion shifted the earth's orbit 400 million miles away from the sun, saving the earth from a meteor the size of a small Washington suburb that was hurtling towards midwestern Prussia at 400 billion miles per hour.
They shot a diamond made of iron at a car moving at 400 walls per hour, and as a result caused two wayward airplanes to lose track of their bearings, and make a fatal crash with two buildings in downtown New York.
They spun 400 miles at diamond into iron per wall. The results were inconclusive.
Finally, they placed 400 diamonds per hour in front of a car made of wall travelling at miles, and the result proved without a doubt that diamonds were the hardest metal of all time, if not just the hardest metal known the man.

AR isnt the metaverse
yes AR will be huge and elon will corner it
but ratfuck boy thought he could build ready player one back there, not remotely happening
especially since they never even managed to get the platform running with decent avatars of 1000s of people interacting simultanously
>>
>>60924889
>AR
Yeah, because what people really want are pop ups, floating loading bars, and junk shoved in their face 24/7 lmao.

God I haven't seen this pasta in ages

This is exactly how even bitcoiners sound to normal people, btw.

There is no fundamental value to any token because there are potentially infinitely many other tokens that can do the same thing. Only social consensus keeps tokens on one specific ledger more valuable than others, but that's no more weird than how some NFTs actually are valuable because of the same kind of social consensus.
>>
>>60924917
lol thinking it matters what people want
add blockers existed for years now and most people dont bother installing one and are quite happy with the shit experience that is modern mobile anyways as long as its 'free' or low cost

>Your diamond a real physical asset was destroyed
>But dont worry here is a non existing .jpg saved in the internet!
>Surely you can trade it at some jewelry store for the same value as your diamond!

What a scam.
>>
> dude what if your PFP was like an asset you could sell
> even though if you built a brand around it then someone would impersonate you if you sold it
> so you can't ever sell it
> also they can just copy and paste it
> also they're fucking ugly
> just buy it bro buy my bags bro signal you're in the ingroup bro it's ironic celebrities are buying them (and selling them immediately)

2021 NFTs and the metaverse are great lessons though:
1. Don't fall in love with ANY narrative
2. Recognize the NPC bubble
Hopefully we'll get this stupid shit again soon.

Bitcoin runs on compute consensus not social consensus but thanks for your input

>>60931558

You retards do know that NFTs are still going strong, right?
>>
>>60931558
It doesn't matter what bitcoin "runs on", I'm talking about what gives it value. And that is social consensus only.
>>
>>60931748
That's true of literally every asset. All value is just what people agree to pay for something
>nooo my land is objectively valuable
Because society agreed that your land is desirable. Much like it agreed that the properties of btc are desirable. But what is and isn't desired changes with the times and with technological progress. Today your PC is expensive, 10 years from now it's a piece of junk nobody wants to buy. Was the value of your PC fake
>>
>>60931794
You cannot gaslight me into thinking the food or shelter that literally keeps me from dying, is valued the same way as an intangible token on one blockchain out of a billion other potential identical blockchains.

If I have some food, and I duplicate it, that copy is still valuable, because it can still feed me. It doesn't matter if every other person on the planet decides that they don't want it, because I still would want it, because it has a use, namely feeding me. And it doesn't have to be something as biological as food, it goes for tools too, if I duplicate a kg of aluminium, than the copy is no less useful than any other piece of aluminium. Even digital tools, if a piece of software is useful then a copy of it is also useful. THAT is what it means for an asset to be valued for its properties.

But if I could make a carbon copy of bitcoin today, and it would be worth precisely zero. Why? It has the exact same properties as the original. And not just the monetary value would be zero, but the subjective value as well, because it would be useless to me if no one else cared about it because the whole point is the network effect. Therefore you are wrong, the properties of BTC is NOT what makes it valuable. It is social consensus only.
>>
>>60931832
If you could duplicate food no, it would have 0 monetary value, same as air. You don't understand that value is social credit to get goods and services from others.

>>60931723
This kek. For 2017 NFTfags 2021 was a blip on the radar. It's going to be funny when morons who still can't spot the hype cycles get blindsided by the next bull.
