Yes anon. Most people in business are retarded. Most industries have a tolerable allowance for retardation that allows them to stay in business regardless.

I watched my old boss throw away $40,000 on mailers with an ROI of 0 because the format was shitty and they were, well, mailers. Dude still had a take home over $300,000 that year from just owner's draws. I'm going to buy a business here soon. Just got to convince them I'm a foreigner or something for that extra grant money

No of course not but unless you're lucky you will wind up one of the many "bosses" who is a slave to their business and their employees. It's fundamentally a worse position to be in unless you fucking LOVE waging more than anything. Having to be there 7 days a week and be on 24/7 because your employees give zero fucks if your business fails or not is literally the worst wagie position of all, and this is what 99.9% of business owners wind up having to deal with.

Nobody said you have to be smart to run a successful business. You need two things:

1) The ability to wageslave 24/7 and be ok with that
2) Luck

Of course if we want to get philosophical, 1 is tied to 2 so really it's just 2, but I'll leave it at that. Some of the dumbest people have launched some of the biggest businesses.

1) is what has always turned me off owning my own business. I just, plain and simply, cannot be fucked.
