I sync my bitcoin core, and this last transaction isn't there. What the fuck is going on here? It's the exact amount as a previous deposit too.Again, this doesn't show up on my bitcoin core application, and I never withdrew more than the 300$ withdrawl.Every bitcoin blockchain lookup shows this transaction, and I never made it. Is this proof that someone hacked bitcoin?
>>60924938Get more bitcoin, poe boi
>>60924938Your private key must be compromised and your node isn't fully syncing. Where did you download your Bitcoin Core from?
>>60925016from the bitcoin foundation. What makes no sense is that they didn't just drain the entire account, why would they only take 7k?or is it that I'm not going to be able to withdraw from this anyways, so they effectively have stolen it all?
I also want to say that I'm using the newer SQLite wallet, and have never used listdescriptors.
>>60924938Just contact Bitcoins customer service
>>60925056Not really funny. I'm more curious than anything...Bitcoin was made out to be this super secure thing that just works when you do everything right, except now something's gone wrong. It's really not the end of the world if I've lost it all. You can see for yourself I wasn't ever withdrawing this money, and I live in a state that bans the sale of crypto regardless. If it truly is all gone, I'd have not noticed. Ironically the only reason I checked on it was my friend was blabbing about how bitcoin was a scam, and I wanted to prove him wrong.I've made more off stocks than bitcoin.
>>60925051for 7k I'd download core and electrum server to cover all the bases.
>>60924938>It's the exact amount as a previous deposit too.The guy who sold you bitcoin did a credit card chargeback, and got his bitcoins back. You need to dispute the chargeback with customer support.
You have 32k left. You probably sold some in the bull market last december and forgot.
>>60925033>from the bitcoin foundation.Your Core might be malware. What's the website of this foundation?>didn't just drain the entire account, why would they only take 7k?Must be some poorly written malware or something. But if you didn't make that tx, your private key has leaked and the rest 0.28 BTC are waiting to be stolen. Looking at the times of the txs it must have happened when you made the $300 tx.>or is it that I'm not going to be able to withdraw from this anywaysOf course you can and you should move those 0.28 BTC to another address you control. I wouldn't use the same Core that's currently on your PC. Export the private key or seed and do it from another machine.
>>60925117no, there is 0% chance I withdrew anything more than that 300$ transaction. This is what my bitcoin core shows. All of my withdrawals are labeled what they are precisely so I don't make some withdrawal and not remember it.>>60925141https://bitcoin.org/en/was where I got core from, validated the install as well.Coins were bought off Kucoin before they blacklisted the US, last withdrawal was using Bisq, which has had hacks before, but strictly limited onto the Bisq network.
>>60925161Then something else got your keys. Anyway, that wallet is compromised and you really should move those funds to a fresh address. I would also wipe the PC and do a fresh OS install just in case.
>>60925225could it really not be the case that my bitcoin wallet is accurate, and the bitcoin trackers are wrong? I realize that sounds like omega cope, but why else would hackers/malware not drain the wallet in it's entirety?
>>60925239Core has had problems showing correct balance after making transactions from the same address but using different wallet software. See: https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/79812/bitcoin-core-incorrect-balance>sounds like omega copeThe transaction is done. >why else would hackers/malware not drain the wallet in it's entiretyEither a bug that only saw one UTXO and stole that, or the hacker is waiting for you to deposit more (but for some reason revealed he has access??). Don't know. The main concern should be to secure those .28 before they get stolen too.
Also are you sure the BTC isn't on some change address? Maybe you forgot you made 2 transactions that day?
>>60925339ah, I think that might be it then. I do recall something about changing my address at the time. could this be why it's displaying wrong?
>>60925339Wait you did 2 txs... it's on a change address lol
>>60925364bro bro bro, you saved me from a massive headache.
>>60925364Why would it move that specific amount around though for a 300$ transaction? like how is it making "change" of 7k for me moving 300$? That shit makes no sense.
>>60925400Bitcoin uses UTXOs, you can read how they work.
>>60924938Core devs took your funds
>>60925420hence why it used the previous receival amount... I see...But then when I look up my balance it's wrong? lmao
>>60925434Your entire balance isn't only on bc1...lm2e address anymore. It's also on different address(es) where the change got sent. Did a quick look and for the second transaction it's bc1qhtlmjg9mjc6edw2aarx25f9rtgjk55t3ceakqf
>>60925462I really wish bitcoin core would have a disclaimer about it so I didn't think I was hacked looking my wallet up on chain lookups. This really just goes to show I have much more money than sense.
