If the American financial system is apparently held up by toothpicks and scotch tape, how does it keep chugging along? Same with the Chinese financial system, to some extent. I genuinely don't understand. The things used by the media--the figures, the indicators, whatever they may be--don't seem to amount to anything. How are things ever so slightly shit, as opposed to being totally shit by now?

All the world is a stage.
There needs to be features of the systems that run the world that justify growth, shrinkage or collapse like a highly complex system of balance sheets that are influenced by limits and levers on many levels. This allows experts and amateurs alike to maintain the idea that it all makes sense and with enough information it is all predictable like it is a fantastically large machine.
This however, is not entirely true as those higher up can use certain means to delay, accelerate, create or nullify events so that they occur when they are meant to

The crops have been sown and harvest is coming, "when" is always the pertinent question while considering how to profit, but the exact details are beyond me and anybody else on this board
