Biz I'm sitting on a townhome that needs at least 12k of repairs. I was let go from my tech job making about 50k partially due to automation and being too autistic to play the social game without copious amounts of weed in my system. Should I try remote or door to door sales as a last ditch effort to save my home or should I hobomaxx and couch surf and sell the house, investing the proceeds during the next crypto downturn? I have a lot of credit card debt and the HELOC will go up in price in 2028. It will also take two years in the same field to get a refinance and I'm not too sure the valuation versus the debt would leave any equity for me to tap into. Also, sales jobs can be extremely unstable even if you're extremely good with people. I can do the social song and dance but I tend to get into the same script or routine and it might come off as artificial. My last job said clients had complained I was too monotone, rude, etc. but this could have also been a pretext to get rid of me.

Damn that grim.. What year did you buy, what interest rate and do you have any equity in the house?
>>
>>60945382

Inherited it in 2017, took out a normal mortgage and lost on ICO scams, should have just bought 10 BTC in 2018.

Refinanced to a HELOC, COVID happened and my savings got burned up. It's variable rate and I have maybe 40-50k if it's fixed up.

>I'm sitting on a townhome
Based townhome enjoyer
>>
What other liquid assets do you own?
>>
>>60945445

Things are grim like the other anon said. I have a few thousand in savings, my unemployment income, SSDI for autism application in the works, and not much else. 2k in crypto and 2k starter portfolio on Robinhood.
>>
>>60945447
SELL that piece of shit house and YOLO it all on crypto. If you don't make it after already getting fucked over in 2017 you don't deserve money.
>>
>>60945462

I should have around 20k to invest after setting aside emergency expenses. Once SSDI gets approved, probably another 1500 a month in 2027-2028. You're sure I shouldn't at least try sales first? I don't have any real experience in outbound sales so I don't know if anyone would hire me going off my tech resume.

>>60945358
Bro, just get a wagie job first. Yeah it sucks but do it.
>>
why does every brokie have crypto lmao
This is how I know crypto will never go anywhere.
>>
>>60945532

Would commission only sales be worth it?
>>
>>60945540
You said you need money. Obviously this means wagie jobs or warehouse. Commission sales is sketchy if youre not working for a big company.
>>
>>60945542

The wagie jobs available with my background not being cleared until 2028 won't pay all the bills.. got into it with someone and he said I threatened him etc
>>
>>60945542

I'm looking at a commercial/residential roofing sales company but it looks like they are commission only. They seem to be implying high six figure earnings.
>>
>>60945551
Risky. I remember thinking about doing these a decade ago and the job postings always seem so sketchy. But obviously you dont know until you do it.
>>
>>60945390
Why the fuck did you take out a HELOC on an inherited property you fucking retard. Keep making the payments and do a conventional 30 year refi to pay it off and lock in a lower rate once they come down another point
>>
>>60945672

This will only work if I can succeed in sales. They have interviews available this week. Idk, any anons done roofing sales before?
>>
>>60945705
Nigger, do whatever it takes to make those payments for the next 6 months or you’ll likely never own another again
>>
You Americans are weird. Everyone here in Australia has long ago realised houses don't exist to house you; they exist to extract as much rent as possible from poors who live paycheck to paycheck.

What I'm trying to say is rent out all the rooms individually anon.
>>
>>60945757

What about throwing 20k into crypto? Could get half a BTC at 40k
>>
>>60945358
>too autistic to play the social game without copious amounts of weed in my system.
you are a perfect government employee. Apply for gob job and sue them if they refuse to hire you claiming discrimination because of your tism. Hey, I did not make the game, just learn to play it.
>>
>>60945757

Also I'm afraid my OCD and other mental issues will keep me from being able to do the job. I ruminate on shit all day. Maybe try SSRIs?

gross
>>
>>60945705
Roofing sales is generally an insurance scam
>>
>>60946130

No I think they are legit, I'm pretty sure you're just convincing the homeowner to use your company to replace the roof through their insurance, that's not fraud.
>>
>>60945390
Wow.
Big retard if true.
Retard big.

Glorified duplex (apartment)
Disgusting.

>keep the house, pay the repairs, get a job, only invest in crypto once you've got finances in check. Stop smoking weed.
>>
>>60946725

I'm going to see about this commission roofing sales job this week. If the low end of pay is good then great but I'm thinking even with warm leads it could take some time to get income coming in and I've got a limited amount of time before savings run out. If this doesn't work out I'm gonna buy 1000 link and live in my car.

Sell house, pay off HELOC, use whatever is leftover to buy some undeveloped land bonus points if it has mineral rights. Tow a free RV off Facebook Marketplace, you will at least have somewhere to sleep. Use whatever you have left after buying the land and paying off debts to start business with resources located on your land and invest into shitcoins/stocks. Sweep profits from land resources (timber, gravel, water, oil) into investments. Profit.
>>
What are the repairs needed? I do almost everything my house needs dyi
>>
>>60946919

But I will lose my SSDI application

>>60946961

I want to throw 20k in LINK and can couch surf or rent cheaply somewhere. My business idea is Arise IBO virtual call center.

>>60946972

Some paperwork and permits, kitchen cabinets and countertops, flooring and wall texture would be the bare minimum. I have the flooring already. Need to update a couple windows and a sliding door. Electrical needs some work.
>>
>>60946972

Oh and roof has a small leak but HOA should replace the roof in 2028
>>
>>60947037

Shit, also the AC is nearing the point where it needs replacing..
>>
>>60947035
> kitchen cabinets and countertops, flooring and wall texture

I did all of these myself, kitchen cabinets and countertops can be done cheap with paint, they even make kits to make laminate look like granite
>>
>>60947038
Can you replace it with a mini split? I just installed one in my basement super easy
>>
>>60947072

The whole kitchen is torn out, still need to buy cabinets and countertops
>>
>>60947037
Roofing is the one thing I don’t touch, but since you are low on funds they do make roof patch kits
>>
>>60947075
Look into used materials or salvaged stuff for cheaper, I use that stuff in my rentals and house flips all the time and it saves a bundle
>>
>>60947083

The problem is income and funds, I need something that pays well, and fast. Sales seems to be my best bet. IT is too competitive for someone without a degree and only a couple years of experience in corporate environments. And my mental health may influence my sales performance.
>>
>>60945358
>too autistic to play the social game

That's not really a good fit for someone who's autistic. Neither of those are.

>>60945390
>Inherited it in 2017, took out a normal mortgage and lost on ICO scams
And now you're talking about dumping the only real asset you have and dumping it into more shitcoins? Sorry but you're too stupid to own a home. Even if you just bought Bitcoin, you'd have to hope that there is another downturn and another giant spike, which I don't think there will be -- if there is a massive downturn, that will burn all the normies who are buying in now, and they won't be coming back to it ever again.
>>
>>60945445
Liquid farts.

>>
>>60947157

I've done tons of paperwork and repairs myself, now it's time for the major remodel. If anything I think I have the experience and knowledge needed not only to own a home but to fix it up and improve it. My idea with BTC was to buy in a bear market if it goes to $60k or below, and keep following cycles with sidelined cash from the initial runup.
