>Got set up by his early thirties with about a million dollars
>Used this money to buy businesses that were likely to grow
>Used the profit of those businesses to buy more businesses
>Lather rinse repeat for sixty years
Why are there not more success stories like his? It doesn't seem like rocket science. He didn't make any disruptive technology or defraud the government for billions. He just invested his money in positions where it was likely to grow.
I also think it's weird how much people get hung up on his stock portfolio despite how often he makes it crystal clear that Berkshire Hathaway's real value comes from the earnings of its subsidiaries like Geico, not from day trading Apple stock

his skill is/was spotting businesses that were undervalued either due to the market not pricing their value in yet or to them being mismanaged. Being able to spot, buy, and fix the mismanaged ones is his real secret sauce.

Is this picture real lmao

Yup he missed Bitcoin and basically the entire tech bubble for the last 15 years because he still believes in boomer shit like fundamentals and value investing. The market runs on hype and money printing. He strategies work best in a sane world not clown world.

Nah he plays Bridge not Yu-Gi-Oh kek
>>60960646
In his very early days he did cigar butt investing taught to him by Ben Graham, but he's since called that a nonsensical way to invest feeling the market got way too efficient for it. He's said he wouldn't be worth half of a percent of what he is if he stuck to that. I can't think of a single business acquisition he's done since the 1970s that wasn't at a reasonable price.
>>60960684
And when the eighties crashed, when the dot com bubble popped, and when the housing market collapsed, he was the only guy with his shirt on. He's gotten criticism over the years for not investing in Intel when Bill Gates introduced him to the owner, and he's said he's still proud he didn't because it would have been a risk of a business where he wasn't able to confidently predict growth.

He's an autist who actually loves business and investing. Plus he doesn't care about the money because he's always been rich, so he doesn't mind holding. On top of all these qualities (that many investors have) he is simply an ubermensch.

>Got set up by his early thirties with about a million dollars
that was like 100 million today. If you got that you could invest in an index fund and do better than him.
>>
>>60960832
You absolutely could not do better than him in an index fund lol
Show me an index fund that grows 20x every decade
>>
>>60960821
I fully believe he's an autist he eats like a four year old, hasn't moved in seventy years, and has a room dedicated to toy trains in his house

Holy fuck take Warren Buffetts cock out of your mouth for five seconds LMFAO
>>
>>60960646
His skill was sucking off politicians. He'd be absolutely rinsed if he didn't lobby for TARP.
>>
>>60960854
I mean he's not wrong, there's nothing too cocksucky about his posts.
>>
>>60960855
I'm sure he'd have lost a lot of banking assets but since so many of their subsidiaries were hard companies like utilities, construction, and transportation I don't think a recession would have killed them

That's the real secret. Just avoid scam and become rich ez

Lots of jealous poor losers in this thread baka this is biz a board for investing, learn from men. Like home don’t seethe over it and make Reddit posts about communism lmao
>>
>>60961863
I agree with your sentiment but Warren buffet had tons of family connections to help him. He’s not a rags to riches story in the slightest. Watch the video I posted.

>when Bill Gates introduced him to the owner
I wish I got introduced to CEOs for my stock picks....
>>
>>60961847
Berkshire has outperformed SPY since this video was released. And that's without investing in big tech (except Apple)
>>
>>60961966
Pulled out of apple too
>>
>>60960684
This was a hard lesson for me to learn. It’s all a rigged casino front to back.
