Fully remote anons, what's your business and finance strategy for choosing a place to live? I'm looking for a city in the US where I can buy a brand new 1500sqft+ house with AC, a basement, and a 2 car garage for less than $300,000.
>>60971211Just live wherever it would be most pleasant for you to live (hobby proximity, friends, demographic, etc). That’s the greatest benefit of wfh, being depressed in bumfuck nowhere to save $400 a month is not worth it
i made a list of what i wanted and starting doing research. also consider the job market, you may not stay at your job forever.
I live near family and friends. I live in a lefty state, but I'd be less happy in a state more aligned with my beliefs. I enjoy living in a small town near a large city. I'm walking distance from main street, but am also very close to farm land/woods, and shooting ranges. I was able to get the property for under $250k and the cost of living is relatively low.

And if you're remote, why hire someone at the big city rate or even 70-80% of that when they could offshore to a Brazilian, Eastern European, or Indian shop.
>>60971211Going on 4 years fully remote here, since graduating college during COVID. I NEETed it up with my parents for two years in my bumblefuck hometown, got bored, and moved into a major american city. Biggest thing is just not living somewhere where you need to own a car
