How do normgroids even afford a new thousand dollars iphone every year?
>>60971277Most don't actually buy a new phone every year.
>>60971277they sell their current one so it's only a couple of hundred dollars to themi have some retarded irl friends that do this
>>60971277They dont, cell phone companies got rid of requiring you to sign a 2 year contract with the company. they've switched that model into you trading last year's iphone for a new one while they sell your old one for 600 bucks. So really people aren't buying a new iphone every year for 1000, theyre trading in last year's phone, forcing you to pay for an absurd plan like 80 dollars per month for a single line, and then arbitraging the cost through your monthly bill. For example with unlimited data on verizon's own network i pay only 20 bucks per month using visible. If i were to sign up for verizon directly it would be 70 bucks minimum. If you make enough yearly i dont see how this is the worst investment if you dont ever plan on switching carriers in order to save 50 bucks monthly.
You get the pro model of the last generation this cycle then 3 years later when it shits out due to planned obsolescence you trade it in with your carrier when the next new big ticket one comes out… literally only 5 bucks a month for the over a thousand dollar phone due to trade in value. This method is OP.
>>60971327literally where. The trade in value is around $230-$400 if you trade in a 3 year old pro phone
>>60971372Facebook marketplace and you can sell it for about 500
>>60971372AT&T yesterday gave me a $1100 credit yesterday for a 13 pro.. only applicable if I traded in and got the iPhone 17 pro max.
>>60971380you end up paying about $600 a year, 3 years about $1800. I pay about $300 for 3 years of phone use
>>60971277They don’t, they rent them from retailers. Retailers buy them from Apple
Been working on declouding, such a fucking headache. I’m ditching the jailCELL iphone, Can anyone recommend a non Israeli backdoor phone? Doesn’t seem to existHua Wei (I’d prefer the Chinese over Jews monitoring my activity)? Unihertz titan 2? Prob gotta also leave Verizon network
Credit card and pay it off? Actually look after your phone and trade it in? (I've never traded mine in, have a pile of old phones sitting at home lol
>>60971277>get 2 tb iphone shitbrick with payment plan>essentially a free 2000 dollhair loanheh nuthin personnel
>>60971320>>60971327Just get an unlocked phone and get a prepaid plan. I'm still using a phone from 2018. About to upgrade this year.
My job covers up to $150 per month for mobile. More than enough to cover the monthly plan charge and any financing payments against new devices. Every two years I get a new iPhone pro max and sell the old one for 60-70% of its retail value. Get a better job nigger.
>>60971277>How do normgroids even afford a new thousand dollars iphone every year?I went to a shooting range this weekend and this guy kept telling me about how he could afford 3k AR15s and 1.5k optics for it on a $25/hr job. This stupid loser had a monthly payment for his scope and his gun and was bragging to me about how he was going to purchase a new gun and accessories once he had paid off these two. People do the same thing with iPhones, revolving payment plans and trade-in every year, whether it be Klarna or US cellular providing the payment plan.
>>60971277whats the difference between this one and last years model ?
>>60971277A new iPhone is like 12-16 hours of pre-tax work for me. Your question is basically asking how there are people that make more money than you. Dumbass.I'm not a mindless consumer though. My 14 Pro Max is still going strong.
Just by y-2's flagship open box retards Barely anything changes on the goyslabs
>ITT: nigger cattle convinced that they need the latest Apple products to signal their wealth instead of actually becoming wealthyLiterally no different than poor blacks spending all their money on gym shoes
>>60971277They don't
>>60971277Dunno, i bought a used iphone 12 mini in good condition 4 years ago for 350$ and its working perfectly to this day. There is literally nothing new that is worth the upgrade.
It's like 3 dollars a day to have the most important device possible. It literally does everything. Stop fucking coping. Actually getting the latest device yearly mattered until like 2020 when they became good enough. There's basically been fuck all improvements since.Just stop fucking COPING about being poor
>>60974063>Just stop fucking COPING about being poorIt's not about being poor, it's about not wasting money. I got my current Android in 2021, and it's still fine. I pretty much only replace phones when the screen cracks too badly.
>>60973242>that kinky haired mulattoe teenager who thinks not buying an iphone is going to make him a millionaire
>>60974075Bro, it’s not even about the phone. It’s the signal. A new iPhone every year is just shorthand for “I’m playing the game and I’m not losing.” People clock that subconsciously the same way they notice a rusted out Civic vs. a clean, waxed ride. When I got a new job as a manager you think I was gonna roll up in my beat-to-shit car? Hell no. I bought something within my means that looked fresh, kept it clean, made sure I had a solid two weeks of clothes I could mix for the job, hair trimmed too often, office tidy. And guess what? People noticed and people respected me more.Whether you like it or not, appearance is shorthand for competence. It doesn’t have to be designer, it doesn’t have to scream “rich,” it just has to show you’ve got your shit together. Same logic applies to phones. You use your phone everyday, for sometimes hours a day, so you might as well have something leading edge. If you’re worried about the environment there’s an army of people waiting to buy it second hand or donation options. Play the game, or don’t complain when you’re not rewarded by it.
When you consider all the time spent using phones, it’s not that ridiculous to spend that money on the latest tech and yes I bought the Air as that’s the most interesting iPhone in several years. And yes it’s fucking incredible to use.
>>60974847I understand how it works. I just don't care. I'll probably get an iPhone for my next phone, but until my current one stops working I'm not replacing it. I do very well myself, and don't need or want to signal to others about my status. I buy stuff because I think it has value and will last. iPhones don't offer enough value for me to ditch my current phone for a new model just to do the same shit. Same thing with a new car.
>>60974882It does the same shit with slightly better performance and camera. If you have a decent salary and isn't living paycheck to paycheck like 70% of Americans I think it's fine though
>>60971277Credit and trade-inMore realistically, you're white and hang around suburban white people. The median household income for a couple with kids is like 130k. And something like 1/3 to 1/4 of married households with kids make over 200k nationwide.
>>60974847mother fucker you are just coping. Just because you bought a new $50k car financed doesn't mean shit. Just take care of your current cheapo car and that takes you 90% of the way there
>>60974847Also to add onto this>>60974993I actually have two phones and one is an iPhone. I have an android as my personal, and my job issued me an iPhone 15. The iPhone is nicer without a doubt, but it's not worth the money
They get a new one every 2-3 years, pay down with a traded in phone, and then finance the remaining. If you think about it, considering how prominent phones are in our life it actually makes sense we would pay top dollar for it. Not saying it's great that phones dominate our life but that's the reality of it. I had a small cheap one for a few years and never again, you can't avoid using it, might as well get the Pro Max.
>>60971372>go to store because iphone8 battery is kill>oh we can trade that in for a new phone>btw it's in really good condition so we'll give you $600>pick basic bitch iphone16>it's $600>pay $55 upgrade fee and $30 for a case
>>60973212They upgraded the base model 17 quite a bit from previous gen base model iphones. Not sure what the major difference is between the 17 pro and 16 pro.
>>60971277>charging $200 more for $3 of ssd spaceEvil.
>>60971277they BNPL it
>>60971277Only poorfags buy android phones
>>60971372Swappa
the richest person i personally know (50y old, 25 million+) is using an iphone X for his business and private needs. i dont think its important to have the newest device if what you need it to do still works.
>>60971277>be me, dutiful Applel iToddler enthusiast>finance iphone for 24 months with 0 down, 0% interest>get trade-in credit from old phone so monthly charge of new phone is $30/mo>keep phone for 4+ years before replacing it>still receive decent trade-in credit when replacing old phonehow poor are you fucks?
>>60971277>JeetPhoneno thanks
>>60976223sir... kindly see the attached...
>>60971277I still got the nexus 5
>>60976243Pretty much the official Taste Rankings(TM) lmao
>>60971277Most buy them after tax return season, im guessing.
>>60971277Trade ins. Apple trade ins are very generous. Once you buy "into" the iPhone, it's relatively cheap to keep upgrading it.Also, always buy unlocked directly from Apple and get a $35 plan somewhere. All carrier deals are scams for poor people.
>>60976243The jeets you see on 4chan are actually the affluent ones so they most likely are apple fags.
>>60971277My Honor phone from 2018 is doing just fine.
>>60971277>trick other poorfags into buying their used phone for 80% of the price>take out a loan for a new phone
>>60971277>How do normgroids even afford a new thousand dollars iphone every year? They get themselves into massive amounts of debt.
well considering you can sell the old one for 50-70% of the price you bought it, realistically it's much less out of pocket.
>>60971277Klarna
>>60971277Normgroids have jobs mate. They went to college, got married, dual income, manageable home payment... They got money mate. Yeah?
>>60974847I guess I don’t have the wagie mentality. I love driving around a shitbox with body damage and peeling paint. Everyone thinks I’m poor. I don’t need the approval of other wagies to have self worth.
>>60976243SAAR THIS NOT CORRECTFIX NOW
>>60971277>buy iPhone on a carrier plan>never pay the bills
>>60971327yeah, just buy a 3 year old model, use it for 3 years, then sell that 6 year old phone and upgrade to the "new" 3 year old model. you minimize the depreciation and have usable phone. it's like $5/mo, solely in depreciation cost.example>iphone 14 is now 3 years old, base model is $300 right now in decent shape>iphone 11 is now 6 years old, base model is $175 in decent shape125/36 = about $3.50 per month in depreciation costs to have a modern phone and no contracts or any other bullshitdont do the carrier deals. they're scams.
>>60974075Don't get a new phone until you literally need one to accomplish a goal.My phone only has dual micro-sim slots and I need an eSIM for travel this year. Plus my phone hasn't been updated in 4 years. In my next upgrade I'll be going from a 12nm cpu to a 4nm cpu, a 20% bigger battery, double the ram and quadruple the storage. Plus double the megapixels in the camera, a better aperture, 5g (which I currently don't have) and a slightly bigger screen. My upgrade makes sense because it's a massive jump. I bought my last phone in cash for like $300 and it lasted 7 years. It still works, but I need an eSIM.If you already have most of the recent major leaps in tech, you don't need a new phone.
>>60971277They don't. Smartphones aren't interesting tech anymore. Today, you're only buying a new phone if your current one is 5 years old and the battery doesn't work anymore. OP's post reads like an out of touch boomer complaining about kids buying avocado toast lol
>>60982148why is it so ugly instead of looking like a sexbot?
Many people have done this math over the years. The sweet spot for an iPhone trade in is 3 years. That means buy the phone with cash, then in 3 years trade it in and buy a new phone with cash.
>>60982743you mean buy a new one and then trade it after 3 years? that's maximum depreciation though :\
>>60982754Yes buy a new one, not used. The goal is to keep a new phone as long as you can to maximize trade in value. So the new phone is cheapest you can make it. Used doesn't save you much money vs doing this.
>>60971277the same way people "buy" cars. they loan them. they pay it off in like 2-3 years with monthly payments.
>>60982766>The goal is to keep a new phone as long as you can to maximize trade in valueI've looked into trade in value before though and it' doesn't seem like it's much different from the Swappa prices.i'm looking right now at apples website. the new iphone 17 is $800. They'll give you $220 for a 3 year old iPhone 14. so you spent $580 over 3 years to have a new iphone, which is about $16/month.that's a huge jump from >>60982080
>>60971277I still can't believe they turned Trump into an iphone
>>60982975ORANGE
>>60973687Nah, I upgraded from an iPhone 11 to a 16 Pro last year and the difference is astounding. The 120Hz screen, 4k video camera, insane battery, everything.I only upgrade every 5 years and always pay in cash, but man what a world of difference.
>>60982911though if you have money i guess an extra $150/yr to have a new iphone and get it straight from apple and not deal with finding a good one on Swappa and crossing your fingers it's not messed up is probably worth it. IDK.
>>60982714Because people keep demanding and buying ugly ass phones.
>>60971277credit/0% affirm/carrier financingim on a 15 pro i'd probably still use my 13 pro if it wasn't stolen
>>609829834k camera is in iphone 6 bro and woha 120 hz to do what? watch 60 fps videos and play some games that run at 30-60? You basically upgraded your battery for 1k
I know two people with cheap ass old phones and wouldn't you know it both are absolute losers in every metric possible. Agree with anon that says trade in for new instead of selling second hand. That way you keep a brand new phone under warranty, avoid shit battery life and halve or even depending on bonuses cut it down from 3 dollars a day to basically 1 dollar a day for the top end 1tb version s25 ultra or iPhone whatever the fuck. It's not about a phone really it's about retards who cant understand the value of buying quality anything and always try and jew out a couple of bucks and then wouldn't you know it the same people have fucking issues constantly. You know the type man 'Oh well I'm late because my phone wasn't working because maps wouldn't update since I didn't have enough space on my phone then my battery died so I couldn't text you and my fuel pump died because I was running the car on 5 percent fuel constantly and I spent 6 hours calling up a scrap yard to find a part cheaper and now I gotta find a mechanic that will accept a 6 pack to put it in so do you think you could give me a ride there at 11am on a Wednesday'
>>60984909yeah, cheaping out seems to end up being a waste of time
>>60979641This.
