i've been playing around with pricing the SPX in commodities. there's a pretty clear indicator that when there's a divergence where the price in dollars is going up and the price in commodities is going down you've got 6-12 months before the market gets real fucky. there's a big continuous decline before the dotcom bubble popped, and a divergence and a fake out before 2008. 2022 was a lot like 2000. things surprisingly look kind of OK right now. this is what i'm keeping my eye on

The level of cope is astronomical. People need to stop giving these lolbert permabear doomers any more of their time. Ok cool he predicted the housing crash and the dotcom crash, 2 of the last 50 crashes he predicted. It's nonsense. Bulls want to get rich, bears want to be right. Any investment from 2010 until now was better than gold, buying a house was far better, buying the S&P 500 was way better and so on. I'm so tired of this fucking guy after years.

Im extremely confident in this PM bullrun because silver hasn't even broken out yet and its the biggest cup and handle in history. To catch up with gold's performance, it would hit $100 but realistically much much higher. Silver... moves fast, and we are just starting.

Because the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent. No one cares anymore guy, we left orbit soon after 2008 and went past the solar system around Trump's first election. But eventually certain stocks will come crashing back to Earth but so be it.

This is your brain on recency bias. Nobody has any idea about what's going to happen in the short term, not even the slightest bit. What has been true throughout history and will continue to be true however, is that once in a while, as Buffet says, the tide goes out and we get to see who's swimming naked.

S&P crashed like 50% during the financial crisis. That said, the US government has been kicking the can down the road for a long while now and it's perfectly logical to be worried at this stage of the game.
All I know about Schiff is that he's into gold, but I just find it annoying how permabulls call anyone questioning their delusion a permabear who constantly predicts crashes.

My current employer could do their interviews like that. Their criteria was all certs and very little care about interview chit chat. Chatty interview was 5 questions. November. Next week is a fireside chat with the CEO discussing the 3 contracts they signed over the last 2 weeks. Could be a positive catalyst.

Otherwise seems to be plodding along with higher highs and higher lows. Cautiously optimistic we'll move towards the mid $20's by the end of this week.

So what makes sense to buy right now? Been flipping through practically every company in the S&P 100 and there is truly nothing left to slurp in terms of tech. Every hidden gem has been discovered and pumped 300+%. Every hidden pile of festering dogshit has been discovered and pumped 500+% out of copium that it will tangentially benefit from AI in some way. Since a recession has been deemed impossible, does it make sense to deploy new capital into shit like SBUX? I'm sitting on 3 months of paychecks to throw in. I have always waited for a 5% pullback on SPY but that's never going to happen again.

My team at work is spread around the country, and I'm the only one at my office, so whenever I'm there all of my interactions are through chat and voice calls. I know a few other people at the office on other teams, but they all pretty much ignore me. I said gm to someone the other day, but he had earbuds in that I didn't see, and he ignored me. Outside of work, I have no friends or close family. Just /smg/ and a few other generals on this site.
I only need to stick it out in this job for like four more months, and then I get a big stock bonus, then I can quit. Not sure if I'll sell the stock right away... It was doing pretty well for a while, but looks to have peaked...

Well, the secret is already out and gold has already pumped just as much as most of the shitstocks I mentioned before, and common sense would indicate buying right now is incredibly unlikely to end well. there will be plenty of opportunities to buy stocks and make big bucks. It seems like you go thorough research and are willing to take some chances, but you need to be able to sell and lock in positions. Like a mountain climber who ties off at some point to protect against too large a fall, or a plunge to the bottom, before starting up again. There is always another company, it may be months or a few years, but there is always another where you can make big gains. I went to a conference with some coworkers. Went out to dinner at the casino. Coworker places like a $20 bet on roulette wheel and bang he wins and gets like $200. He starts to place more bets and I tell him dont do it, take the money and walk away. But he cant. He bets again and loses. He bets again and loses. All gone. He walked away losing what he won plus what he initially bet. He was bummed the whole night.

That is undeniably true depending on the rock to be honest. Some have some real valuable elements, minerals, gemstones, and even potential fossils or something cool. A rock can also kill a person which crypto will never be able to do.
>>

Many say it's mathematically impossible to profit from day trading. Do you disagree?
>>
>>60978433
>I have no friends or close family.
Sometimes that is a blessing when you have to work hard to make it. I used to travel a lot and work long hours. I had to chance to make it and make good money and I did, but I had to sacrifice to do it. I knew lots of people who had family and never wanted to go home to deal with them so they just stay at the office and play on the internet. Frens come and go depending on many factors. Lots of people are stressed out themselves and just live in a different world using music (ear buds). Don't take it personally if they ignore you they could be going through some hard times themselves. Now make some funny memes until the market opens tomorrow.
>>
>>60978497
>Do you disagree?
It depends - If you need to make money you are forced to take more and worse chances to pay the bills. If you do not need the money you wait until you see a good opportunity. If you are happy making a few bucks or few % and can sell when you are ahead, and have no problem holding for a while if you are down, then you can make money. Some day or swing trading in addition to your regular investments is good, keeps you thinking, looking for more info, and can take opportunities when the arise, and sit and wait when they dont.

See I went to a rural boullion dealer about 4-5 years ago when my dad was really big into coin trading. The guy there was like 60 or 70 and seemed to feel it was easier to hold wealth with coins rather than bullion, since the latter had serial numbers and could be tracked (basically avoiding taxes and declarations of wealth?). Coinage apparently has different rules (eg a $10 silver coin is still $10 on paper), not that he declared income from it.

Either way, bars seem more foolproof and less fussy

The dollar is kill. Premature rate cuts, accelerating inflation, out of control US bond yields and sovereign debt risk, BRICS dedollarization, and losing WW3 all mean an apocalyptic precious metals bull run until the 2030s. You're about to witness the flipside of money printing being used to forced the "nothing ever happens" meme. Now you get Everything Everywhere All At Once.

I know someone will post the dance webm, but I like my wagie WMT job. I do photos and electronics. Its just intimidating enough that kids and boomers dont want to do the department, but easy enough to be pretty chill most days.

It pays the bills and I get along with everyone, thats the kind of job I can do long term.

Not sure about the tariffs doing that, but turning on the printer faster sure is about that. And also inflating the debt away. US now has debt to gdp ratio higher than it did in during/after WW2.
Got to inflate that shit away.

You'll want to remember a few key things when trading gaps:

A stock will rarely stop when it's started to fill the gap because there's often no immediate support or resistance.
Exhaustion gaps and continuation gaps predict the price moving in two directions so be sure you correctly classify the gap you're going to play.
Retail investors usually exhibit irrational exuberance but institutional investors and algorithmic systems may play along to help their portfolios. Be careful when using this indicator and wait for the price to start to break before taking a position.
Be sure to watch the volume. High volume should be present in breakaway gaps. Low volume should occur in exhaustion gaps.

I work like 4 days a week, 26h average or so. My rent and bills are only like $1200 and I have about $100k NW in various assets. I bike or bus to work, which, while being a poorfag option, do help to keep me a bit healthier.

Id like to be good enough at trading where I can make a few thousand per month to roll into semi permanent investments

Oracle is working with OpenAI, SoftBank (9434.T), opens new tab and Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab on a $500 billion project called Stargate, a plan to build massive AI data centers around the world.

that's my ideal. 30hr max, no car expense, small financial footprint. enough regular gains to stack into early retirement. But my situation is going to make this hard. the only way is to FIRE or have nightmare inducing, explosive gains early on to establish a good nest egg to finance less working hours.

Crazy story happened around that time in history in the south asian seas. The Spanish had taken Aztec warriors they conquered from Mexico to fight against the Ottoman navy in the south Asian Sea. It's one of the crazier cross overs as far as wars go that no one asked for but it's pretty cool it happened.

What I should be doing is getting licenses and qualifications, getting 40-60k per year, and hustling for 5 years to really stack gains while I can, but my crohns makes basic days annoying sometimes.

On the other hand, my life is quiet and basic enough I could probably coast for 7-8 years, plus get financial assistance if I had to... so many people I know are levered up on credit card debt and love pay to pay

Cute. Now compare it to the economic conditions in those years.
>2022: wake of COVID shutdowns
>2014: wake of OWS / anemic post-2008 recovery
>2006: gas prices went from $1 to $4 this year (this shock put a lot of independent drivers out of business, I was in college delivering Pizza and 100% of my daily tips went right back into my gas tank that summer).
>1999: height of the dot-com bubble
>1981: Post Carter Recession
>1979: Gas Shock
>1969: Recession
>1952: Mid-war, Fed asserting its control over monetary policy
>1940: Post recession, pre WW2 mobilization
>1937: Recession, tight monetary policy, reduced business investment
>1922: Depression
>1916: inflation, pre-WW1 mobilization
>1905: inflation, post recession
>1894: inflation, collapse of Reading Railroad, loss of European investment, banking collapse
It turns out that yes, when there's massive economic upheaval and inflation, people don't want to work for less real wages than they had been making last year.
People don't want to work for employers who give them a 2% pay raise annually when inflation is 4-5%.
