There have only been a couple times where we pump at smartcon or sibos and usually it's after a massive dump. I can see the momentum from that + the thursday buying propelling us past the $25 - 27 resistance area

There is no "news" that can pump any crypto anymore. Every shitcoin for the past 10 years has trickled out stories of "launches" and "partnerships", nobody cares anymore. Even coins announced for the crypto reserve barely saw any action. 5 years ago shit like that would have pumped a coin's price x50 in a single day.You genuinely just have to wait until 1.0 launches. Either the buildup is true and the coin gets value from its actual use case, or it was all vaporware from the start and it crabs/crashes as people realize that pretty jargon doesn't actually translate into real world value.
