>spend some years as a youth mastering a generalized set of useful skills: reading, writing, math, finance, economics.
>grow socially by putting yourself out there and learning how to make friends and build a network
>gain some basic work experiences in order to understand the ins and outs of a functioning business and what it takes
>acquire some starting capital either personally or by means of a loan or private investment/funding
>identify a market niche in an underserved but lucrative area
>build a network and an organization that serves this niche and foster a functional enterprise
>as this enterprise succeeds begin to scale and spin off more new locations that serve this need in similar areas
>focus more now on effective delegation and surrounding yourself with associates that can handle the day to day work while you plan and lead the high level
>scale to the max potential and reap the rewards

Surely there's a more likely way than others. I.e. building a business than winning the lottery

bro.. seriously.. why do you even ask is this your first day here?
>>
>>60981850
This is the correct answer
>>60981883
What anon is trying to point out is that everything is luck. Building a profitable business IS winning the lottery, do you have any idea how many people try and fail? The vast majority. And plenty of retards wind up succeeding where highly capable intelligent people do not.

Everything in life is luck. The "decisions" you make are merely chemical reactions to external stimulus completely out of your control. From the very moment you were conceived the wheel was set in motion, your very genetic makeup informs everything about you as a reactive individual, none of which you had any control over.

Literally everything is luck, you will either get rich or you wont. You're going to make the same "choices" over and over again regardless of your "desires". This is your destiny, anon, and it was determined long before humans ever existed.
>>
>>60982142

Fallacious thinking. Most people are stupid. That's why their business fails. You assume luck when it is still a skill issue. You can't lose if you actually know how to identify a market and build an organization to serve it.

>Legit ways

Not since the economic espionage act of 1996. Used to be the way you got rich was apprenticing for someone, learning everything you can about the industry, quitting once you can start your own outfit. You use stolen documents and trade secrets to undercut your prior employer. It's how rockafeller got his start. Even then, there are usually massive startup costs and regulation that make it untenable to start a business. If you need a couple million bucks for equipment you're already "rich".

Financial sales is probably the most reliable way to use the Rockafeller method. Start entry level doing telephone customer service. Work your way up until you're taking the calls from high net worth clients. With any luck you'll talk to the same boomer who wants to know the exact balances of his 1.5 million in CDs, at exactly 8:05 AM every day. Build rapport with these people, harvest as many names and phone numbers as possible. (Highly illegal btw). Once you've got enough people who know your name and trust you get a job as a financial advisor and get those boomers out of CDs and into funds managed by your firm. If you've done it right you can get 10 million in assets under management with 3 months and you'd collect 1% on that. Because you've got some kickass numbers your employer takes notice and passes you better leads than the other advisors. You appear to be the better salesman, but you had that early game advantage. Keep grinding and you can gain local relevance and notoriety. You're "The guy" that rich people refer their friends to. Once you've got 100 million in assets under management it's just a matter of keeping your clients posted and comfortable. Stop talking to them, they forget you exist, and someone else will poach them from you.

You need a head start/unfair advantage to win without luck. It's become increasingly illegal and difficult to create a head start for yourself, but it is possible.

You can be a genius but the ones with connections are the ones to get a successful business, not to mention skill, iq etc are all just luck too, someone born retarded never had a chance. Not to mention unless you invent the next steam engine you're still going to be exploited no matter how smart you are, it simply doesn't matter
>>
>>60982369

How do you think connections are formed? Charisma, wit, social ability, it's skill. It's all skill. These people exist you're just not one of them.

Born into it, retard. Hunter Biden didn't schmooze his way into being the president's son. Even the friends you make in high school will depend on if your parents bought you fashionable clothes or a car. Social capital is inherited like any other form of capital.

As far as investing in stocks go?

1. Hold steady job and save whatever you can.
2. Invest everything into good large cap businesses and growth ETFs.
3. Use margin conservatively once positions are built up.

This requires the least amount of luck and knowledge, a moderate amount of risk, and a shorter time frame than invest-and-forget strategies like FIRE.

Find a market niche and serve it well. (Elon Musk, SpaceX)

Exploit others and leech off their accomplishments. (Steve Jobs, Apple)

Enter a newly-forming natural monopoly and seize control of the dominant need within it. (Bill Jobs, Microsoft)

Grind, grind, grind. (Warren Buffet, Berkshire Hathaway)

Lie, cheat, and steal everything that isn't nailed down. (Everyone at Enron)

Sure, there's always some amount of luck involved. Bill Gates didn't write the original core of MS-DOS, he bought it from a company whose CEO decided to go flying instead of bothering to meet with those snooty suits from IBM. If that guy hadn't fucked off to play with his airplane, Bill would never have gotten his start.

Same with Steve Jobs, if he hadn't met Steve Wozniak and become "friends" with him to leech off Woz's talent and hard work, Jobs would have been a mediocre also-ran.

But 90% of both of their careers was relentless hard work and smart business decisions.

QUICK? No that literally requires luck, or cheating (aka, you got insider info on a stock that will boom).

Fastest possible without Luck would be starting a business that is very successful. Make a product, sell it.

Youre retarded if you think you can game an ancient algorithm. Aka the algorithm of existence. Had to spell it out for you since I forgot you are retarded.
>>
>make $100
>turn it into $1k
>turn it into $5k
>turn it into $10k
>turn it into $100k
>turn it into $500k

>and so on
If you don't see what I'm saying or can't figure out how to do this, I don't know what to tell you.

Study hard from middle school
Get into a T20 undergrad
Get an internship with a top firm
Get quasi hazed as a junior employee with long hours

Then you're embedded in the American zaibatsu life and will basically never want for anything for the rest of you life, and always have a soft landing when you fuck up.

Life is a gamble.
To put it another way, life is a set of probabilities. 4 out of 5 businesses fail. Your job may fire you at any time. You can sit at home and do nothing, and have your skull caved in by a frozen piece of turd from an airplane.
You can't avoid risk. There is always the unknown. What you can do is find something with the best risk to reward ratio based on your own situation and skill set, and play the right game. A casino is set up such that the house will always win. The stock market is set up such that you can almost always win, with the right strategy. Anyone who invested in the SP500 for 20 years has come out with a lot more money. This may not be true for the next 20 years. We all might get destroyed in a nuclear holocaust. But as of now, that probability is still 100%.
>>
>>60990991
So how did you do it?
>>
>>60981883
it's not about being lucky per say but mostly about not having bad luck
>>
>>60982589
>But 90% of both of their careers was relentless hard work and smart business decisions.
and none of it would have matte rd if they didn't get lucky
there are millions of hard working peoples who just can't get the right meeting, the right client, the right order, etc, and just end up bankrupt
vast majority are working hard luck decide who get to win in the end
>>
>>60981820
To be unique is some way, so forget finding that on here
