im a software dev and i cant come up with a business idea, i have to keep trading time for money like cuck and its making me depressed.
>>
this is a process called "financialization" and its a feature of all collapsing civilizations throughout history. before you know it we will be able to trade leveraged futures on a prediction market DEX to bet on the monthly jobs reports, but no one will actually have a job lol

there's thousands of ideas all right out in the open. it's not a matter of finding an idea, it's a matter of execution.

This is why bureaucracies keep getting larger and larger with made up regulations just to keep people employed doing whatever.
In our case it's even worse since half of our workforce is women which should be working on raising children but instead they are busy filling excel sheets and enforcing stupid regulations that cripples economic growth for a double whammy.
Sometimes I feel like those guys in The Big Short. They know the system can't be sustained forever but it just keeps going without collapsing. My hope is that welfare states collapse soon enough and we get a big civil war conflict to clean up our scoietie's parasites and build a new society again.

I have a software idea that I know would make hundreds of millions of dollars but I'm just a few years away from retirement and I'm already set for life, so I can't be assed to write it.

don't be sad op, your salvation awaits.

when it comes to knee pads, buy-side forces are primarily driven by the end-user’s need for protection, comfort, and durability relative to the activity. professional or industrial users are willing to pay premiums to reduce injury risk, while casual users are more price-sensitive, whereas supply-side forces are shaped by material availability, manufacturing complexity, economies of scale, distribution constraints, and regulatory compliance. the interaction of these forces determines market outcomes: high demand for certified or ergonomic designs can allow suppliers with limited inventory to command higher prices, while abundant supply of generic models shifts competition toward cost and brand trust. Ultimately, buyers influence design priorities and acceptable price points, but suppliers control availability, quality, and innovation potential, creating a dynamic balance between what users want and what producers can deliver.

bottom line: make that paper baaaaabyyyyy!!!!

Ah the midwits paradox. Smert enough to do script kiddie shit and change the hex codes for Mr. Shekelstiens & Goys financial website but can’t make a killer app. Many such cases.
>>
>>61002424
even if you make a killer app, some corporation with more marketing funds will just reverse engineer it, clone the app and sell it to a million clients they already have

I have ideas and skills to implement them, and all of them will make the world a better place, but I bet my money on the world getting worse, and it makes me more money than doing anything.

You know you can patent the design right? You also can corner the market and offer something they can’t do, because your over head is so low you can set your SaaS model so insanely cheap that it wouldn’t consider competing. At that point it’s more likely they’d buy you out for fuck you money. I’ve been doing this long enough to see it happen and have had projects I’ve collaborated on go that route. Just protect yourself and be smart, don’t let the small things trip you up, the difficult part isn’t coming up with the idea, getting your ducks in a row, or even marketing it, it’s sitting down and coding the project by yourself not knowing if you’re just wasting your goddamn time or it could be the next big thing. At that point, just do the project because it’s something you want to do or it fixes a problem or meets a niche that hasn’t been met yet.

here are 2 (more or less generic) ideas:
- build frontends for random linux tools
- build an alternative to Windows active directory, but for linux
I have 9329847324 ideas, each one dumber and probably less profitable than the previous one, but I'm not a dev and I'm too lazy and ignorant to do shit

Business ideas are not hard. Just find a business model where the business helps other businesses make money and then create a software to make the same end product. i.e. SEO agencies, they help tons of other small to medium businesses make money, just make a software that replicates the end result (better SEO rankings, SEO research, SEO content creation) and build a software that automates the manual parts that humans do.

Or take an existing B2B software and create a copy of that software but focused on a specific niche. i.e. a CRM for personal trainers, booking software for barbershops, an accounting software for plumbers.
