>about to blow my grandpakeep that to yourself, anon
>>61020430Wise decision IMO. Housing prices will never slow down in this country and you will never realistically be able to save your way to being able to afford a house with a decent deposit unless you’re making 300k/year. When your future kids grow up they will count their blessings that they had a parent with the foresight to get into housing before most people are priced out entirely. If current growth rates continue, a house in Adelaide by 2050 will be about $25M.t. butthurt rentcuck that is priced out of being able to ever afford a house in Aus.
I'm also Aussie who recently came into a decent sum of money too (from car accident insurance payout, not inheritance, but similar idea). I've decided I'm going to try catch the housing market, rather than just go in now. Houses grow at about 5.5%pa historically. Obviously it is quite easy to beat that on the market. Housing has the advantage of leverage through a mortgage, but the size of the mortgage depends on your cashflow, not necessarily on your deposit. With 950k in etfs you could easily get ~8%pa and beat the growth of a 950k house. But if you've got solid cashflow then you could leverage 2x and buy a 1.8M house. That'd grow even faster. I'd personally rather be a rentoid for a little while than have a mortgage for a long while, so I'm going with the market, but it depends on what you value I guess. If you do buy the house, make sure its not some newbuild garbage made of foam and toothpicks, buy one that'd make your grandpa proud.
>>61020472its up in a nice area where houses are 1.2mill avg
>>61020595Get in before you're priced out forever. The only way house prices are ever going down is if the White Australia policy makes a comeback.

>>61020481rip gramps tho he was a real 1
>>61020430I mean your setting yourself up to eliminate a huge expense that destroys a lot of people so it's smart. Sure you could throw it in some shitty stocks and it will probably go up over time, but so will your house. There's nothing stupid about it. It sets you up to have more free money and time to put into other investments/ventures. Do it OP, you won't regret it.
>>61020499>>61020522So is there like, nobody building houses there or something? Is it illegal to make housing affordable?
>>61020781th-thanks babe.
>>61020430Also a kangaroo person here, you're retarded. 950K would yield you 50k/year at MINIMUM which covers your rent indefinitely without trapping yourself in a shitbox in *SOUTH AUSTRALIA*You can always change your mind later, if houses inflate more, so will your equity. Houses are overvalued because everyone is leveraged, as someone that has the privilege of having cash, you shouldn't join the circus of overleveraged wagiesthank me later
>>61020430you're good actuallythere won't be a housing market crash until 2035 at least
>>61020830unironically yes, it is basically illegal to make housing affordable. It is the bubble of all bubbles, and has been artificially inflated by governments of all ideologies since the last century. If someone ever dare suggest walking back some of the insane housing policies it is political suicide, because pretty much every boomer in australia has made millions off owning several houses.
>>61020430You've done the right thing op. if you dont have experience engaging in retarded degenerate moves day in and day out then buying your house in cash means your only obligation to keep you away from poverty now is paying property taxes and covering utlities & basic needs. unlike 99% of the rest of the world you are now in a bracket where you dont have to pay a Nose an exorbitant a rental fee, or a Tribe an insane interest fee to own and live in a house over 30 years. If you enjoy living in a nice house in a nice area then you've won.so well done op. You and yours will prosper in times to come. pls enjoy bubs as a housewarming gift.
>>61020430cool bragging thread my african american gentleman
>>61021026dont be lameim just trying to get my finances right
>>61020830Oh, they're building houses alright - they're just not building enough.Even with all the developments going round my area, the price of a block of land has more than doubled... that's not considering the fact that they've also reduced their size.
>>61020830people only talk about the supply side because it's allowedThe real issue is the demand side :)Get rid of your shitskins and profiteers, and the housing market is instantly back to normal. they pull the wool over your eyes by screaming that not enough is being built. You cannot build enough to house all brownoids. There isn't enough whiteman money in the world to house all brownoids. It's a fucked up thing
>>61020430>what body type is that .
very nice, coastal SA is the best place in the world
>>61020430you cant afford the upkeep on a $950k house.Get one for half the price and buy at least one BTC, please man you dont have to be retarded
>>61021693life is short. OP is living like a king and not like a pleb while the going is good. upkeep isnt that bad when you dont have a massive mortgage or insane rent to pay.
>>61021779basically being poor is a mindset
