You probably want to buy the puts or whatever slowly. Surely other corrupt actors with higher levels of money/power at your organization are aware of the impending doom, they might go for one-last-pump so I wouldn't open one big short with a thin margin of error, buying a bunch of puts is fine. With 10k surely you can make decent money but not millions-of-dollars-SEC-on-your-ass type of thing, I'm not even sure it's considered insider trading if you are a low level employee of a company without special financial information and just see the iceberg coming.
