Yeah I got a 15% raise for 1000% more work and stress and every day I wish I could go back and undo that decision. Holy fuck my job was like playing little league and now I’m in the fucking majors and I’m getting RAPED.

Did you practice turn them down?

you know you can just make that up for free

Always bear in mind that it’s cheaper for the company to promote someone than bring in someone new. It’s ass backwards imo but they always offer the promotee less than a new hire

Getting promoted at my last job was what led me to becoming a pigeon holed neet. Programmer 1 to Programmer 2 within an ancient extremely silo'd pigeon holed outdated tech insurance company. My job duties literally quadrupled and my manager was telling me I'd be taking on the work of the retiring 2 top guys on my team (also we were already a skeleton crew of about 4-5 team members BEFORE the seniors were about to retire).

I noped the fuck out of there, problem was the pigeon holing prevented me from finding another job (lack of relevant skills needed) and my local area was abysmal with the salaries anyways. That all happened almost 4 years ago and now the job market has completely tanked. SOMEONE HELP!!!!
