What do you guys do to live well without overspending? I know many of you neet through bear markets living on the proceeds from bull runs. Whether employed or not, how do you enjoy life while either not diminishing your capital or not cutting too much into your investing money?
the correct amount to spend per year is $50-70k USD for an adult. if you "need" more you are a bitch, if you "need" to spend less youre a lazy bitch
>watch movies and tv on physical media purchased from thrift stores for pennies instead of paying streaming services>make your own cold brew coffee at home instead of paying $5 everyday at starbucks>buy roast cuts of meat and slowcook throughout the day in your crock-pot instead of going out to eatIf only you knew how cozy life could be.
>>61028017>purchased from thrift storesWhat are you, 80 years old? Poor young people have been torrenting forever
>>61028073Yeah, I guess that's true, but I worry about getting fined since the ISPs will turn you in. So I hear. I always watched on those sketchy sites with all the pop-ups instead of torrenting, but the quality was ass.
>>61027724All you have to do is try expensive shit once and you will realize it's so not worth it. You want to stay at the solid 4-star hiltonnot the 5 star hotelyou want the solid $$$ restaurant not the $$$$You want the condo in the upper mid range of affordability and neighborhood not in the really rich 1% part of town. You want business class not first classYou want a touring trim Toyota/honda/subaru/ not a mercedez/porsche/bmwetc etc
>>61028193This. The most expensive thing I buy with money is more money.
>>61028193Pretty accurate. Also makes the occasional splurge on 5 star hotel more enjoyable.
Define overspending. I refuse to spend over $30/person at a restaurant, but i will buy a $500 Pendleton wool blanket. I will absolutely splurge on buy it for life items. I will spend big money on nice food to pack the freezer. But I refuse to blow money on expensive service products like eating out, movies, etc.
>>61027724I just overspent on a vacation, but fuck it I never take vacations so I wasn't going to ruin it by being cheap.
I don't really get enjoyment from anything and posting here is free. Spending money is harder than not spending money.
>make list of all expenses, including rent>calculate paycheck, and what’s left of it after retirement savings, taxes, and expensesI basically have $800 left over and I just put it into a brokerage account. I tell myself I can’t spend that money. I think the best way to enjoy life is to be free of wants. Like… I want a fancy soundbar for my TV. I want some more houseplants. I want some more clothes. Some new sunglasses. But I realize none of this shit matters.
Just sell one Bitcoin a year, it's at that point where it's worth more than the average person's salary
You realize line goes up depends on goycattle blowing their money on Jewish psyops? If everyone was as cheap as /biz/ capitalism would collapse.
I think selling 25 bitcoins a year is pretty average. There are millions of bitcoins so selling a few of yours won't matter.
>>61027724I learned to cook things from scratch that I used to enjoy getting from takeaways.Burgers, pizzas, Indian, Chinese, etc.I rarely pay for anything if I can torrent it.If I can fix something, then I will research how to fix it.
>>61027724>not cutting too much into your investing moneyHave a job. No fucking way I'm cutting into investment money. Also be a millionaire like me and drive a 2009 Honda Civic. Instead of Lambo, Q4 gainz will be spent on a baller-ass beach condo/house that will rented out when I'm not there... and the resulting proceeds will be invested.
