I work to distract myself from the deafening silence of my empty rentoid apartment

All in...my car, my investments, bank I probably have $96k. About 25% of it is illiquid

Financially, should I feel like a loser? Cuz I feel like one. Minus the money I'm exactly where I was when I was 18. Apartment dweller with no family

A rentoid.
>>
what's your annual income
>>

It depends. Reportable to the govt is about 80k before taxes but I run a business and the real number is 130k; I won't go into the details but it's legal. IRS knows about it. But it's feast or famine so when things are good...they're good

But sometimes business stops.

>All in...my car, my investments, bank I probably have $96k.
how does this happen? you saved less than 10k per year? wasnt it invested?
>>
>>61037678

Lot of wasted years. I wasn't always making this much. It's fairly recently actually
>>
>>61037641
At least its not -96k and spent on labubus, dubai choccys and other normalfag stuff.
>>

Why do you assume everyone starts investing and saving at 16-18?

I didn't even know what that was until I was 32 years old. My parents and nobody ever taught me about that shit.

I only found out about this stuff when I started looking online at ways to make money and investing stuff started popping up and thats when I discovered it.

My grandparents were peasants and my parents were worker drones, none of them ever invested in anything and they all spent 100% of their income every week

The median net worth of under 35s is $39,000 and of 35-44 year olds is $135,600 so it sounds like you're doing about average.

The reason you think you're doing worse is you're looking on finance forums where people are way, way above the median.

Also, not giving financial advice, but most people build wealth by getting a mortgage as that's the cheapest credit you can usually get.

Nothing really seems bad about your situation except the fact you are unhappy about it. Like what do you want exactly?
>>
I really think a house nowadays is a psy-op. Do the fucking math on it, it’s not worth it until interest rates drop. It’s only nice if you want to say “I own this” or you prefer stability.
>>
>>61037725
You're not the only one, I'll tell you that. Many people have no understanding of finances, investment, and even worse, retirement.

Good for you for taking responsibility for yourself. It's a long game. But you're still young and have loads of time. Most people don't pay attention to investments and retirement until their 40s and 50s when it starts to get too late to fix a poor financial outlook.

I had about $100k assets and no car at 35. Now I'm 44 and a millionaire. Still a rentoid with no car.

It’s crazy to me how many of us come from families where not a single dime was saved, and we had to learn it all ourselves. I don’t even remember learning about this stuff in school, sure we had an economics class where we learned about the market, but nobody told us to start saving. I finally got my shit together with my first professional job at 28 and just started shoveling money into my 401(k). I’m on track now but holy shit.

37, no gf or wife. no house.

fully erect, slugging beers, dancing nude, helicoptering my member to Aphex Twin on acid. making $17/hr, rizz maxxing. getting mugged, getting banned from public places. shooting deer from car and field dressing them in urban neighborhoods. ignoring calls from debt collectors, knowing WAGMI

happy as a clam

>My parents and nobody ever taught me about that shit.

>Noooo how could I possibly have thought after 20 years of existence I ought to look up shit on Google and YouTube about how to get my life together????

Lmao ngmi

The fuck did you do man? Options?
>>
>>61037773
Try living in a country where the overwhelming majority of people assume the government will look after them no matter what happens and don't even know how much their own retirement savings are.
>>
>>61037773
Hate dumb comments like this.
>wdym bro, you weren’t planning right when you came out of your mom’s pussy on how to be financially successful?
Nobody spoke about this shit. Most people learn this stuff and other useful skills from their environment.
>>
>>61037641
It’s grim but you’re not alone anon. This is about the average life of a 35 year old man today. Buy some alts you think can safely do a 5-10x from here. Don’t deviate too far from the top 100 tokens

I got blackout drunk and woke up married in a bathroom to a girl I'd never met

>deafening silence of my empty apartment

You have no fucking idea how good you have it.
>>
>>61037788
That seems like fun.
>>
It could be worse. You could be a third world incel 31 kv no car no house shit career wage pay, etc. stop complaining you have it better than most
>>
>>61037663
start talking to women now, even if it's small talk. you need to oil your gears anon
>>

>Most people don't pay attention to investments and retirement until their 40s and 50s when it starts to get too late to fix a poor financial outlook.

Yeah that's pretty much me, in my early 40's. At least I own a house, I guess.
>>
>>61037819
she was the owner of the place too, lmao. her husband was not happy and I'm 86'd now. wish I remembered any of it
>>
>>61037729

Yes. I've seen the same graph and I tend to wonder how much of that networth from 35-44 is with the house included

i've thought about getting a house but I'm in a bit of a unique situation. I ultimately want to reside in Europe but I live in America. Obtaining a mortgage as a "foreigner" is complicated and even then they only lend about 40 to 60% of the home value. The rest you have to front
>>
>>61037800

Usually if you think being single and alone is a blessing it's because you married the wrong woman :P
>>
>>61037783

A friend of mine's dad worked at an investment firm so he's been investing since he was 18

Never had a job above 60k a year and he has 2 Bitcoin, $271k in his checking account and God knows how much in other investments

Oh and he owns like 4 properties kek

It hurts
