>"bro you want to make BANK? go into the trades bro. those guys are cleaning UP, EASY 6 figures"
The people claiming this are always one of three things:
>the tradesman who now owns a business and hasn't lifted a wrench in a decade
>union tradesman working 60+ hours per week and getting overtime pay, especially in an expensive area
>it's an extreme niche that nobody but 5 guys on the planet know how to do, or it's extremely dangerous to the point that guys are literally dying on the job constantly

I can't find any example of any tradesmen unironically making like $120k+ just doing 40 hours per week in a normal job and not living in the bay area or NYC.

No one makes that much in trades retard. It's just the latest grift like "learn2code".

They're saying that because it's a low barrier to entry. They don't mean that you should stay a grunt for the rest of your life. Getting a few years of experience below your belt and saving a tiny bit of capital is enough for you to start your own successful business if you're slightly above average intelligence

Aerospace union mechanic here
$54hr
Will be $65 in 2027.
Work in a clean room
Zero body destroying tasks
Super clean even after a full shift.
Y'all need to get GOOD and create a skill set that creates something of value

Also, underwater welding is based beyond belief. but also very difficult and dangerous.
Those guys are clearing $200+ An hour in most cases.

And hey, guess what? Just like every other job market it's oversaturated too. Most companies would much rather pay a barely trained Mexican laborer under the table than a trade school honky that expects to be treated with respect.

that is way underpaid considering the skillset and risk
than again being a wagie is always underpaid

That's probably just on the check, not including full benefits for your family and a retirement.

I do union glass and metal work in Seattle and I make over 60 an hour, I make enough I don't even need to remember exactly how much with guaranteed raise every year, benefits and a pension.

Trades are good when it's busy and they're building, right now not so much. It's slow and slim pickings in this area right now but that's why you save in the fat times to be ready for the lean times.

I definitely feel how inflation and home prices went up faster than my wage though. five or ten years ago trades were better off. A journeyman will struggle to buy a house now in my area unless something changes.

>GO INTO TRADES TO BE WAGIE CATTLE MAKING 6 FIGURES (102K) A YEAR

My neighbors building a data center in Idaho and making 20k monthly, 8k of which is stipend

Everyone knows this op.

The catch about trades is how random they can be if you are a wagie.

You can be with the shittiest persons of the world, with near miss mangling every day or have a free workout 5 hours / days with cool guys learning cool shit on a good salary.

The company you work for sets everything. More than an office job.

Wait til you get your first teslabot and remember occasionally how many breaks service requested, how often they were on there phone, how often they just sit there when not being actively instructed to work, and how thorough they aren't.

isnt aerospace/aeronautical mechanical stuff actually really dangerous though? like don't you mess with weird chemicals or fumes or something
>>
>all your employees are second generation Mexicans who can't work longer than six months because then they start getting xhild support garnished from wages and quit

>latest
Pretty sure it's older than that
>>
>>61052894
Including benefits it's likely closer to $500 an hour.

>>61052999
Better to be protected by a union and make $100K+ Than having no protection and $50K. Year

>>61052862
ICE removed that market already.
>>
>>61052831
Broke boomers with failing small businesses want non-felonious white kids to haze for pennies instead of retarded browns. It's really not that complicated.
>>
>union tradesman working 60+ hours per week and getting overtime pay, especially in an expensive area

yeah and i do about 40 minutes of work a day and trade the rest of the time. i havent made less than 175k salary in 9 years. My port is up 900% over the decade.

It does seem like if you were in a company of actually smart guys trying to do high end stuff, and not burnout losers building mcmansions, it could actually be really cool, like far better than most office jobs.
