Why are so many boomers buying Rolex watches as if they were an investment? Most models lose 30% of the value the minute you leave the AD, and even the most desirable models drop in price whenever a newer edition comes out.
>>61055991>Most models lose 30% of the value the minute you leave the AD, and even the most desirable models drop in price whenever a newer edition comes out. What the fuck are you talking about? You can flip a Rolex for 30% if you get it at the dealer price. They are about the only boomerwatch that reliably gains value.
you can easily have sex with cute air hostesses and restaurant workers when u wear one of those
>>61055991Everything you said is wrong, impressive.
>>61055991Because they are completely useless now that smartwatches are available. Who the fuck wants a clunky Rolex when they are easily faked and people wouldn’t believe it was real if they see you wearing it. Smart watches track your steps, have gps, heart rate monitor, weather, compass, elevation, workout schedules, o2 readers, sleep monitors. If you buy a Rolex over a $500 smart watch that benefits your health then you are retarded
as someone who bought a rolex after 2018 run just know that it's a total waste of moneyonly losers will notice ityou never want to wear itit makes you feel bad when around poor peoplewomen don't careyou have to service it ($$$) and people servicing them are douchebagsi will keep it and give it to my son one day but that's itnice carsnice watchesnice bikesare for empty people
>>61056051Kill yourself you stupid fucking technocratic Jewish NIGGER
>>61056051They're a status symbol. It's human to want to show your wealth off and a watch is the one piece of jewellery men can wear. I doubt Rolexes are ever going to not appreciate in value.
>>61056065kys poorfagmy rolex lost value and i wouldn't even want to meet the disgusting normie who would be interested about buying it because he is 100% sure a poorfag wannabe like you
>>61056065They aren’t a status symbol any more. Rolexes are for fags that are insecure and need to cope with being inadequate. Rolex fakes are so good nowadays that even professional watchmakers can’t tell the difference
>>61056059Not shit. Rolexes are also terrible looking. They're a poor person's status symbol.>>61056051Hybrid watches is where it's at. Classic look with function. They're not quite at the full capability of smart watches yet but even something simple like a Kronaby is well designed and gives you basics features like a camera shutter trigger, location pinpoint, and steps.I have a kronaby btw. For diving I have an actual proper watch, a Suunto D5 which is great aside from not being able to turn it off between dives.
>>61056077>my rolex lost valueBecause you bought at the top of 2021 watch bubble kekIf you hold on they'll appreciate in the long run>>61056080Idiocracy was a documentary. Nog rappers and browns love Rolex. We are in a low IQ world, flashy watches are just going to get higher status.>Rolex fakes are so good nowadays that even professional watchmakers can’t tell the differenceThis is just an argument that Rolexes and fancy cars are still THE way to display your wealth. For a fake to be desirable the real thing has to exist.
>>61056098>even professional watchmakers can’t tell the differenceOh yeah, this is completely false. A fake will fool a casual observer, that's it.Check out r/reptimeQC to see even superclones aren't good enough to fool the eye, you need a franken with a Rolex dial and bezel etc for it to look good under photography. And if you take the back off it's completely obvious what the clone is.
>>61056098bought it in 2018anyway not interested to talk with a watchfag kys normgroid
>>61056117I had a fake Rolex GMT Master II in 2015 from the dark web. Was AAA+. The only way to tell it was fake was the GMT hand was at the bottom of the hand stack. But yeah, these superfakes have been around for years if you know where to find them.
>>61056117>>61056088Cope chud incels. Imagine thinking a boomerteir wristwatch will make you more desirable to women or make you seem more sophisticated. Literal sub 70 iq niggers wear Rolexes. If you approached a woman wearing a Rolex, you would immediately give her the “ick” because it shows you are not confident and trying to compensate for your shortcomings
>>61056158> Literal sub 70 iq niggers wear Rolexes. So most of the world wants them and this is an argument they're a bad investment?
>>61056179Most of the world dislikes niggers
>>61056063you might have btfo'd him but anon has a point
>>61055991they are scaredt. rich son
>>61056098t.
the ONLY people who notice watches are other guys.
>>61055998thats a 5. also just buy a fake they cant tell
>>61055991when I sell for this cycle I'm getting my milgauss and day date.
>>61056158Not sure why you quoted me cause I agreed with you...
>>61055991>>61055994These are basically both correct. In general, Rolex's dress watches don't work particularly well as investments. (I'm sure there are plenty of counterexamples.) The popular sports models tend to hold their value or increase in value. If you're lucky enough to buy the latter from an authorized dealer, yes, you can probably sell it immediately for a profit. But it's complicated. To have the privilege of buying a popular Rolex sports watch from an AD, you generally need to be a good customer of that AD - meaning you have to spend lots of money on other stuff. So the official price might look low, but it's misleading. Also, ADs don't want customers who flip watches; they won't sell to you if they think you're doing that.
>>61055991I never understood why there's so much fuss about rolex when there are normal watches and things like smartwatches, I can even use my fucking phone, If I had to use my ket for a stupid and expensive purchase, it would be for a car
>>61056051I literally wear my rolex just to flex on plebs like you with your McDonalds Happy Meal wrist band.
>>61056051>>61059980They're jewelry. They're not utilitarian purchases.
>>61058815>Rolex's dress watches don't work particularly well as investments.>The popular sports models tend to hold their value or increase in value. The problem is that you have to buy two or three shit dress watches to buy the one you want, neutralising any profit. This is the part sub-fags never talk about.
>>61060560Yeah, I mentioned that. You need to visit the shop regularly and buy stuff. Fortunately, you'll have some flexibility: less popular Rolex watches, engagement rings, earrings and necklaces for your wife - all of those will make the AD happy. But whatever you buy, it's part of the cost of that Submariner when you're finally allowed to buy it.
>buying a watch as an investmentJust get a beater.Use the money on a proper investment.
>>61056051Yeah they were useless when $10 Casios told the time better but that's missing the point that a Rolex lets you dab on poors
I bought a $300 Seiko as my first watch, will watchfags make fun of me for being poor?
>>61060850>will watchfags make fun of me for being poor? No. Rolexfags might but their opinion doesn't count.
>>61055991Bought the one on the right for 850 a few months ago and even then it was below gold value. Now the gold is like 1600 bucks. It’s a nice hustle if you know what to do. You don’t make money with big brands if you know the niche stuff and the gold value is on the two tone pieces you can make money. Just bought a Franck muller a couple days ago. I’ll probably sell it and buy something in gold or platinum to hold
>>61061814the one on the right looks like its from a fantasy movie lol
>>61055991>boomersSigh...
