Okay seriously. So what happened that's making Gold and Silver go Defcon 2 with pricing right now? At least it then past 5 years I've been stacking, it was only ever a steady upward climb, with some equally steady dips here and there. Not "Oh Gold went up over a hundred and twenty bucks over the all time high in a day, and also Silver's over $53 because why not".
Is there some major financial happening that most of us don't know about?

New silver scavenging question: When it comes to pure (ish. Sterling) silver kitchenware, are below-spot prices typical? I'm seeing some items for 42$ an ounce. Could the sellers be lying about the weight?
>>
>>61110232
Basically it's a scam. The company seems to exist only to serve as a vehicle for raising money. It was heavily shilled on /pmg/, and its web site promised loads of silver concentrate that would be refined, new test holes indicated great riches, yadda yadda. So the stock went up, and when it was clear all sorts of promises never materialized, it crashed. Now it sits, waiting for another generation of suckers to come of age and 'invest.'

It is 2 1kg bars. I keep it in a briefcase. I had plans to get a proper job and stack this year, but it looks like the proper job won't come until next year, at which point I'll be priced out.
>>
>>61110254
I know a big thing to watch with silverware is if it's filled or not. It was common to fill things like candlesticks bases or knife handles with concrete, so less silver was used.
>>61110239
Same. I could never find one locally though. I at least have the 2020 silver proof set version, it's smaller but still the same exact coin.

Those would be more affected by trade deals with china and taiwan than anything, though they do use PMs it's pretty miniscule. They won't get cheaper though, especially computers during the great Windows 10 crisis that is about to unfold.
I have a hunch big things are going to change with Automobiles soon. I don't know what exactly, but something.
Jewelry will probably devolve into the plated trash they sell at outlet stores, real jewelry is going to be endangered for a while.
>>
>>61110301
Follow-up question: If an item is marked as plated (silver soldered in this example), and also has a weight marked (10 oz), how should it be interpreted? 10 oz's of silver? 10 oz's of generall metal?
>>
>>61110305
I'm more of a silver guy. Get both if you can afford it, but Silver at $53 is historically a lot better than Gold at $4130. Gold is at its all-time high. Silver isn't even close when accounting for inflation.
It's only too late to buy it when the stores are empty or your currency can't get any more.

Yes. Platinum is really good, too.
(messin' with you)
All three are fine. You'll also get different answers from those like gold vs those who like silver. And then there's platinum - really! It's been performing extremely well.
Buy 'em all. What the heck.
>>
Thinking of doubling my 30oz silver tomorrow. I’d be dipping into savings to do this. Is it better to just start buying a few ounces a fortnight? Part time dumb wagie btw
>>
>>61110141
You didnt put /pmg/ in the title nigga
>>
>>61110301
so your antique silver goes from like .800 to sterling, .925 at most. the lower quality / fineness means more work to get .999 so lower price.

>>61110313
anything plated just write it off as total metal weight
sterling is just weight X .925 = silver amount
>>
>>61110313
I don't know when exactly an item is filled, but generally speaking, when a part is "fat", it's a filler portion.
Plated is pretty much always trash, theu're just weighing the item like you would anything sent through the mail. Stay away from Rogers and International Silver co, they're almost always plated junk in my searches.
>>
IT JUST KEEPS GOING UP
>>
>>61110305
Silver no question. And ignore price. Learn about the gold silver ratio. If you want to stack it's a must.
>>
>>61110313
This:
>>61110344

>I’d be dipping into savings to do this.

>Is it better to just start buying a few ounces a fortnight?
yeah, if you want to get to a goal break it into small parts and stick to a schedule
>>
>>61110338
>>61110344
Thanks
>.800
I saw one piece marked as 778. Is this slightly less pure than 800, or a different measuring system? Couldn't find a clear answer on jewgle
>>
>>61110254
Watch out for weighted silver its very common with candlesticks, there's an tin foil style layer of sterling on a plaster interior
Flatware typically sells for a lower than spot price unless its some special designer or a complete set of silverware or something.
Most people just treat it as junk that's headed for the furnace.
>>
>>61110336
ATH, inflation adjusted, is $200+.
$54 silver means room for upward movement.
I only care about the ratio.
Currently around 78:1, which is good for silver.
I will buy silver until the ratio is 70:1.
Then I will balance between silver and gold.
Nominal price is cool, but the gold to silver ratio is what I think about.
>>
>>61110363
thats a bit different but if they marked it like .778 or such itd assume it was
can you post a pict?
>>
>>61110305
>Only a few normies are starting to notice.
>There is a silver shortage.
>The world is still FUBAR.
>A lot of people only just bought silver the last 2 months, they will sit pretty for a while.
>Gold is always safest.

60% of your budget into gold. 40% Silver. Then you have some but are also safe. You will feel like you NEED more silver, but that is FOMO speaking and we are always careful about FOMO.

No matter what, you are passing what you stack down to the next generation if shit collapses.
>>
>>61110363
Good question, I haven't heard of 778 as a measurement myself. It's usually 800, 900 (sometimes marked "coin") and 925 (sometimes marked "Sterling". Beware "Sterling plated").

This is "The Great Vacuum"
Boomers dumping their families future into fiat to buy more comforts. Glutting the market a bit. Always going to be sellers anon.
Most people who ended up with silver either dont know what they have and price it in dollars, or are boomers and are capping out at ath because they fomo last time on the way to $50 and think they are smarter than the system.
They think the cap is $55-$65 and then tanking. Bet we get a huge ish down to make them feel vindicated around that mark that only last long enough to let them feel like they won before getting distracted.
They won't think about silver again till $100. That's when big money will REALLY wreck them cause they will try to leverage to make up for "getting lied to".
Shortly after 100 all stops will be pulled to liquidate every leveraged boomer and that's how the great wealth transfer takes place.
Boomers chasing gains and getting payed right up till the end.
Bet

You have time. I would get both silver and gold if you can afford it. Most anons acquire proportionally using a silver-to-gold ratio of 100:1 (or something similar). If money is tight just get silver, it is the better buy as it has more upside potential. Avoid meme rounds, collectibles and commemoratives - they are polarizing or a ripoff. The "coin of the realm" is usually your best bet as it is the most recognizable and therefore easiest to liquidate if you have to. If you are a Eurobro don't worry too much about silver VAT as you will likely make up for it when the price moons.

Last question before I sleep: What does "sighted" mean here? I couldn't find a maker with that name, and it doesn't seem to be an industry term, like soldered
>>
>>61110497
They stack shit tons of gold to help suppress and as their backup. The issue is silver usage in industrial capacity, which even their hoarded gold cannot fix. That is not something they can magically make disappear or suppress. What one might consider is if they do another Myanmar to steal their silver reserves and who would be the next likely candidate?

>>61110507
Boomers are retiring and actively trying to liquidate. Its why they are bitching so much about real estate too, when they aren't busy selling to Black Rock. Remember how much they screamed when Florida had their home insurance pulled and crashed their real estate?

Almost back up to $52.

On September 18th (or thereabouts) less than a month ago, silver fell ~$1.20 in a day. On July 7th (or thereabouts) it fell like a dollar and then fell again the next day. Demand is still high, production still can't meet demand, a billion new Asians are still thirsty for silver, inflation is still continuing, crypto is still just a pyramid scheme, and the US economy is still propped up by an AI bubble that if it fails will crush the economy and if it succeeds millions and millions of people will become unemployed and the economy still crumbles. The refiners have been running at maximum capacity to churn out new COMEX bars, which are finally getting delivered. Banks are now terrified to let their physical silver drop as low as it did. Every metric continues to point to silver continuing to go up for a long time. Even the crypto shills are continuing to badger us into their wobbling pyramid schemes more desperately than before because the only thing their investments are based on is hype. Silver is still well above $51, lol. At the very, very worst - and if we are all incredibly lucky - silver will go down even farther for a day or two so that we can acquire even more.

Generally yes if you're talking about bullion coins.
>How do you take care of your coins?
Be gentle with them, don't touch them with dirty hands, store them in airtight containers.

Some coins are easier to sell than all bars, but some bars are easier to sell than some coins. Bars with security features from LBMA/COMEX approved refiners especially. However, if Boomer McCoinshoppenberg is buying your coins at his store he'll probably try to pay you slightly below spot for almost everything unless there's a numismatic or collector value and you know about it before trying to sell. Some bars from some refiners like Engelhard have a collector market.

Chinese industry is willing to pay very high premiums in order to avoid production stoppages.
>This is now the next wave of buying that is driving the price of silver towards $100.
>The industry will pay any premium to keep the machines running. A solar panel can still be sold profitably even at $100+, same with cars and humanoid robots.

Silver supply shortages hitting China.
>China’s largest #Gold and #Silver recycler Rongtong Gold has stopped selling #Silver sheets.
https://x.com/KingKong9888/status/1978011365723005251

Retail silver prices in China spiking to over $128USD/oz as available silver drops to zero.
>Shuibei Market's largest online trading platform Rongtong Gold has stopped selling silver sheets. China's largest e-commerce JD.com, has almost all merchants taking down raw silver. Only one is for sale, with a price $108.25/oz. The small raw bar is $128.5/oz.

Chinee solar industry will buy out the Aussie dudes copper interconnect patents, resolve the manufacturing cost issue of said patents and keep rolling. Solar will get vastly cheaper whe they do it since they’ve just been cruising on cheap silver paste for decades now and it’s most of the cost of a panel.

Chinese are the worlds largest IP thieves on the planet. They may use the Aussie tech, but I cannot see them paying for it.

Yeah, iPhones and other goyim gadgets use so little silver the price could go to 2k an ounce and barely move the finished product price. Great for stackers because they keep destroying silver and billions of consoomers foot the minimal increase distributed across them. It’s the high silver content industries like solar that will really get raped by prices and need alternatives.

Hello Anons, silver has officially broken away from spot both in physical and spot markets. Silver is trading at a premium in both etf and physical. Physical is seeing humongous premiums, there have been a few Silver MFs that have stopped accepting new buys, Silver ETFs and MFs have to officially hold 95% physical silver in India, things have become wild here. You niggers better be buying silver, bankrupt the fucking LBMA, fucking feds, the Jews every single one, the day is closer.

Meanwhile, bitcoin is dumping hard again, back to 110k. I genuinely think it might be over for crypto for this run. Previous cycles it was super secret funny internet money, the preserve of computer nerds. Everyone was cheering as it went mainstream this time around, but now that it's much easier for normies and institutions to put money into the crypto ecosystem, it's also much easier for them to pull it out. It was already struggling, crabbing all year while stocks and commodities boomed, and then as soon as Bitcoin makes a tiny little ATH the exchanges engineer a titanic flash crash to wipe out as many people as they can, and handily remind all of tradfi that crypto is still some shady shit. Now when you take a look at it, in the final year of what's supposed to be a big bullrun, BTC has achieved a measly 10% (if it holds this price). Just about keeping up with the return you'd get from the S&P 500, but with much more volatility and huge unpredictable drawdowns along the way. Best not mention the alts, because those are an absolute bloodbath, as are the treasury companies. Meanwhile all sorts of sectors are popping off - rare earths, quantum, anything vaguely AI-related, delivering triple-digit returns over very short timescales. Gold has pumped more in a month than Bitcoin has managed all year. If you're a fund manager or a normie with a share portfolio thinking about where to put your money, weighing up risk vs return, does crypto look like a very good investment right now?

TLDR - is it time to open a short on MSTR?

That'd be my plan if I were you, see what work you COULD do, get a work-and-travel visa, aquire waifu somehow.
Also getting your silver INTO the country will be hard, they have import restrictions for common people because their market is starkly different than the world market. Convert to cash first, so timing is also non-trivial.
Make sure your japanese is up to speed, at least N2 and fluent if you still want to attempt it. Speaking GOOD japanese is like oil to a motor there. It doesn't need to be perfect, in fact, the best is gramatically correct but culturally unaware. They NEED to have their "silly gaijin that's not how you say that but I understand you" moments. Gaijins are funny clowns to them, play that role and you will be liked.

here's a play that might interest fellow liquidity shock enjoyers. look at this chart. that's the transparent Zcash supply (yes, yes, ZCASH, crypto, I know).
everyone on Solana Twitter is swapping into self-custodied Zcash on Zashi app. those coins get taken off exchanges and reduce available float. what's noteworthy is the scale of it - even though Zcash has the same 21M cap and halving schedule as Bitcoin, transparent Zcash (the one on exchanges) is falling off the cliff because of this. the swaps are coming in massive 1 BTC increments ($8M notional per day) https://explorer.near-intents.org/?toTokenId=nep141%3Azec.omft.near only ~$700k new Zcash gets mined every day.
see where this is going? it's as if everyone decided to take physical silver back from COMEX
