Silver supply shortages hitting China.
>China’s largest #Gold and #Silver recycler Rongtong Gold has stopped selling #Silver sheets.
https://x.com/KingKong9888/status/1978011365723005251

Retail silver prices in China spiking to over $128USD/oz as available silver drops to zero.
>Shuibei Market's largest online trading platform Rongtong Gold has stopped selling silver sheets. China's largest e-commerce JD.com, has almost all merchants taking down raw silver. Only one is for sale, with a price $108.25/oz. The small raw bar is $128.5/oz.
https://x.com/oriental_ghost/status/1978008560111153364

Chinese industry is willing to pay very high premiums in order to avoid production stoppages.
>This is now the next wave of buying that is driving the price of silver towards $100.
>The industry will pay any premium to keep the machines running. A solar panel can still be sold profitably even at $100+, same with cars and humanoid robots.

As it goes higher from now on it’s going to be much rougher .. big spikes in volatility due to institutions reluctant to sell paper contracts to one another as paper markets implode .. if volatility tolerance is limited just limit yourself to checking price weekly or monthly and remember :
If silver matches its2011 money-supply ratio: about$110 oz.
If silver matches the 1980s ratio: about $800+ oz

a bit idealistic. govt will spend 2-3 weeks running propaganda on msm that people are "hoarding" gold and its harmful to the environment & economy etc etc.

normies will already be jealous and resentful they missed the last boat out of fiat and will gladly turn on pm holders. not only will they not aid in any kind of revolution but they will actively snitch on those who try to hide pms from the govt. be careful who you tell

good thing my stack is literally only from sovereign mints, and U.S / Canadian junk circulation coins.

I literally told /pmg/ newbies to upgrade their stacks and move to sovereign coins and bars.

I use to have generic rounds in my early stack days, but I sold them for maples.

But i'm still banking on total debt dollar collapse, and a gold/silver barter system with society in a semi-stable state

Gold if you don't want to think about anything else. Silver as well if you're expecting a major breakdown of the financial system (protip: it's already happening). Gold is too high? It's never high. Same goes for silver.
>>61113565
eh, it's clear value derives from the metal, but sadly humans are like this, and brand recognition is a thing. It's the exact same reason I never bought anything other than sovereign coins, either gold or silver. Just a gold bar once and and I sort of regret it. In the end, it's the same shit, but I'm sure if I ever want to sell it, It'll be harder to do than any other coin.

Speaking of which. I started stacking timidly around 2015-2016. I never once thought of selling, but I was checking the usual coin dealers I bought from in the past and their buy price is outrageously low. I get much better pricing at ebay, for example. how was your selling experience/process, /pmg/fags ?

to be clear, I'd only swap metals for something else, never fiat, but still, I'd like to know.

My top was 70%, but like I said, I was refining. I had to control costs if I wanted to come out ahead. This is for in person face to face sales. At estate/garage sales or antique/consignment shops I would haggle. Sometimes I'd get down to 65 or 70%, sometimes not. I've picked up so much sterling mismarked as plate over the years for so little it all shook out in the end. A little of people managjng estate sales don't know shit about silver.

Most of my tips will be for in person. I almodt never buy scrap online. One quick and easy one is a company name. Both are the same company, but manufacture different products.
International Silver - all plate
International Sterling - all sterling silver
People will see Intl Sterling, and think it's plate. This is the most common error in my experience. I can't stress the importance of learning hall- and makers marks either. If you're going to be hunting for scrap silver, you would do well to familiarize yourself. If you're going in person, bring an accurate scale and a lighted jeweler's loupe. Both can be had from online retailers for peanuts. Magnets. Keep a cheap magnet in your pocket or with your kit.

thats why stocks and even BTC can climb with gold. Fed is lowering rates, so its risk back on and usd is in post covid correction mode. So assets that were ignored for a while are finally getting attention again. Like gold/silver. Should be bull market for pretty much anything for rest of year.

The first drop last night from the Asian markets came immediately after the release of the IEA monthly report saying that OPEC plans to produce a surplus of oil over the next year and that demand is expected to fall. I don't know the deets, but I assume the silver and gold dip that happened after this release maybe had something to do with the anticipated price of oil and how that would affect the economy. It doesn't seem to have bothered traders in the West as much. There may have been other information in the report that was only tangentially related to oil or unrelated to oil that affected PMs, I don't know I didn't read the actual report. But that's when the initial dump happened.

here's a play that might interest fellow liquidity shock enjoyers. look at this chart. that's the transparent Zcash supply (yes, yes, ZCASH, crypto, I know).
everyone on Solana Twitter is swapping into self-custodied Zcash on Zashi app. those coins get taken off exchanges and reduce available float. what's noteworthy is the scale of it - even though Zcash has the same 21M cap and halving schedule as Bitcoin, transparent Zcash (the one on exchanges) is falling off the cliff because of this. the swaps are coming in massive 1 BTC increments ($8M notional per day) https://explorer.near-intents.org/?toTokenId=nep141%3Azec.omft.near only ~$700k new Zcash gets mined every day.
see where this is going? it's as if everyone decided to take physical silver back from COMEX

Do you guys ever think about how absolutely retarded boomers were who saw the US confiscate gold, revalue it and then decouple it from the dollar...oh and remove silver from coins too, and yet they didn't for a second think that something bad was happening? They didn't for a moment consider maybe they should stack PMs. Or maybe warn their children of the games the government was playing or even consider they maybe all these wars have something to do with it? All it took me was one abuse from the government to realize I was naïve (fool me once...). But our parents (I'm in my 30's) saw all of this and now I'm the one educating them about how screwed up our financial system is. Why does every boomer have battered wife syndrome? They really are the weak men who created hard times. They never once considered breaking a law. They never once considered having an actual revolt (like when the government steals 80% of your wealth) they patted themselves on the back with social justice crap (women's rights), but they let the world become worse for everyone. Do they just hate us? Do they just hate good things that they SIMPd for big government so hard? I forgive them, but I have no respect for them. They probably cheered for the ATF at Ruby Ridge.

The only thing that differentiates societies in history is what the middle of the pack are like. The USA in the late 1800's to early 1900's had an average population that was incredibly educated and articulate, compare that to the boomers, who are all alcoholics basically.

They were under a hundred years spell of fiat actually retaining value and being able to purchase a fuckton of things with it for minimum work ethic. It won't change either, they are too old to see the truth. But the same would have happened to us had we had an operating fiat. But we didn't so we learned and we knew better. Back then it really was all sunshine and rainbows, not a care in the world

We both lived through the same abuse, but I saw it for what it was and they just kept rolling up sleeves. I think I am capable of being that weak, if I chose to be, but that's just it, it is a choice. I chose not to be and they...did. It seems to me that the boomers are a product of their choices. Choices that we now are demonstrating that we wouldn't make.

Boomers are going to boom. Most of them in our family think cave dwellers pulled off 911 and that the government has their best interest in mind (even after the most recent shit show with the holocough wuflu)

I posted a video from a couple weeks ago of a boomer selling hundreds or merc dimes and peace and Morgan's to a pawn shop. The wife died a few months ago and she said we "buy this incase the government screws us again" or some other SHTF scenario. Didn't take him long to liquidate the position even though the fundamentals haven't changed and could be argued has gotten even worst. He also was calling the top. I think the price of silver was 43 that day. love my grandparents but their rose colored glasses is what got most of the rest of the world into the mess we find ourselves in today. It's not even worth pointing out to them because even if you are to win the argument it doesn't change the position we all find ourselves in.

Communist infiltration of the US government and media, unironically. The entire hippie movement was KGB agitation. The guy that is almost singlehandedly resposible for turning American majority public opinion against McCarthy - a jew named I.F. Stone - was a full on paid Soviet agent. He's confirmed in the Venona Papers. So basically the highest echelons of US government KNEW McCarthy was right, but let him burn anyway. Why? Because they too were communists or at least had communist sympathies. Christ, one of Truman's closest friends and a personal confidante, Harry Dexter White, was a commie agent. We have been infiltrated, and they have been agitating, for at least a full century. The Boomers got the worst of it because they were a captive audience. No alternative media existed during the majority of their lives, and for the entirety of their formative years.

Sometimes good or simply advantageous things occur. But you know who else sees opportunity? Those that would like to follow it up with crisis, perhaps when many least expect it, so that many are more demoralized than if there was no period of optimism. Stacking PMs and shelf-stable goods is basically preparing for the fact that you don't know when the next period/phase of "hard times" will come about, no?

Was thinking swapping for bitcoin but I would not be surprised if btc halved by the end of the year....I'm really just sick and tired of dealing with the bullshit that crypto trading brings. Precious metals is where its at.

Depends on your NW, if you're a poorfag maybe start with 30 + 1 oz and see if prices get beaten down further. If you're a millionaire than 2-5% was the safe hedge in good times long gone, no one with significant money does this any more. 500oz ag and 5 oz au is my make it stack because that's a little less than I have so I hope it's enough but I've been buying for years at half the price. Still bought a little more when prices skyrocketed because it will never feel like enough even if you are a top 1%.

I wish I had bought more fractional fine silver when prices were low. Most of my junk looks like it got shit out, mostly in unopened rolls so remains to be seen. But I got 5 1/10 oz rounds from some online spot deal awhile ago and they'd be really handy if the spot keeps skyrocketing. Premiums then seemed outrageous but what I paid then is insignificant now. That being said I'd be afraid to lose them in a poker game. If you use 1oz rounds it is now high stakes. Too precious to lose over friendly card games.
>>
>>61116769
I was answering the fren who asked how to start stacking
>>
>>61116769
You aren't priced out of gold yet, just buy the cheapest fractionals you can find. Most of my coins are .11 to .18 oz nothing over 10 grams, European coins or restrikes at what was then relatively low premiums but affordable to this day to people that want security that bad. 5 & 10 gram bars again have premium over larger bars but still manageable if you work and save. If things draw down for what ever reason just keep buying.

Some of them provide good, basic advice for n00bs. There are a few actually not shills/glowies that peovide useful market analysis and news. You definitely need some education and experience to filter out the noise/propaganda on that platform, but there good info collation and presentation does exist there which is hard to get from, say, searching Google News and trying to find reports with any depth or breadth. Definitely not useless if the person using it isn't worthless either.

Several times, mainly for guns and gun stuff, small outdoor power equipment/tools, gold, and even a lease for a small piece of land for a new corn variety I've been working on alongside a state university (bonus - I can hunt the land, too). It feels cheaper than fiat in the moment until you watch the fiat value of the ounces you exchanged go up, but the reality is that the asking prices (in dollars) for guns or tools or land leases keep going up and up. I live in the upper midwest in a not-super-rural rural area that's pretty centrist politically, generally middle class, and probably about as white as Canada. Most people here aren't preppers or doomers, but they have just enough awareness (or family learning) to recognize the value of precious metals. I'm sure most of the boomer men in the area at least save any silver coins they might find in their change, and their kids and grandkids are aware of saving PMs even if it wasn't really impressed upon them growing up. So there's somewhat of a cultural-socio-historical appreciation for both precious metals and barter among many folks in my area. Sometimes, though, people want cash even though they appreciate PMs, and sometimes vice versa. It's relatively common considering, and not a big deal. Cash or bullion works either way.

They're likely behind. Huge number of orders recently. I'm waiting for an order from SD Bullion to ship that I ordered 5 days ago. It's normal for dealers in this market. I'd only be concerned about the delay if it was a private sale on ebay or something.
