How does every fucking normie afford one of these, not to mention the gas and maintenance? This is the most basic trim too with no adding on yet.
Debt. But that bubble is popping right now because the default rate on car loans is skyrocketing
$42k is literally nothing in today's car market. But the answer is debt, lots of it.
It’s either this or a Toyota Camry
>>61112333Camry seems a lot more reasonable. They should great gas mileage
>>61112343I’m sure you’ll get great gas mileage taking your gf to Tyrone’s house and back but high value men like me need a truck to fit our tools and haul our toys.
>>6111233326 Camry is ev only last I checked. Shopping for a new car atm.
debt. US consumer debt, ATH, car debt, ATH, .gov debt, ATH, student loan debt ATH we haven't had am economically good last 4 years, its just been new debt. Cars are a stupid expense, invest instead. Then old economy steve looks shocked but how do you afford to put 80k a year into investments? He says with a straight face while he has a 3000 dollar a month truck payment coupled with the wifes 2000 dollar a month luxury car.
>>61112287This is actually not that bad. I thought those things start at 80k
>>61112287>normies watch sportsball>feel emasculated>jews advertise nothing but pickup trucks during commercial breaks>normie brain: I’m big boy if buy truck>jew dealers jack price and financing way up to squeeze as much as possible from goy >normie buys truck>normie drive truck around town now he’s big boy>other normies see big boy, cycle continues
>>61112287$600/month+ car payment for 84+ months.>HEY MAN I NEED A NEW CAR SO I CAN GET TO WORK SO I CAN PAY FOR MY NEW CAR SO I CAN GET TO WORK SO I CAN PAY FOR MY NEW CAR SO I CAN GET TO WORK SO I CAN PAY FOR MY NEW CAR SO....
>>61112487accidentally leaving the tv on during a weekend is psychological torture. normgroids never stood a chance.>16 hours of niggerball sports talk>obonxious $70k muttmobile commercial>sports betting commercial>casino betting commercial>another $70k muttmobile commercial>etc.
>>61112505100%, weapons grade propaganda. Normies are helpless.
>what is a 4 year lease>what is a 100k+ yearly paying tradey jobnot everyone is a noodle armed pussy like you
>>61112555i make $120k and i drive a $7k car. having a $600/mo+ car payment on anything less than a $200k salary is pure insanity.
>>61112492>>61112456>>61112287Yeah that’s great and all but used cars are still $20k and up. Plus you’re paying all of that upfront unless you want a ridiculous interest rate. Fact is: Obama’s cash for clunkers program finally caught up with society and ruined the car market.
>>61112300This. More Americans are starting to default on their car loans. The top is in.
>>61112287>This is the most basic trim tooTechnically the F-150 XL is a step down at $38k but your point still stands. Modern trucks are ridiculous.Modern trucks cost so much because of a) emissions/safety requirements and b) useless features, combined with c) people willing to finance them as a vanity purchase. The average V8 pickup can tow ~10,000 lbs. and are lifted enough to do basic offroading...two things their owners never actually do. They're also stuffed to the hilt with bullshit passenger accommodations - I sat inside a RAM 1500 Big Horn, and about 40% of the interior space was an iPad screen and a place to put your fucking snacks and drinks. Don't even get me started on the Ford Raptor or Ram TRX, which is just a play toy for rich guys to look "blue collar".The irony is modern trucks are shit at actually being trucks. They minimize bed space in favor of passenger space, and they sit so high up off the ground that loading shit into the back is a chore. I have a RAM 1500 Tradesman 4x4 (fleet truck model) and I basically have to do a box jump every time I need to get in the bed, and I'm 6' tall. Loading a motorcycle into the back requires a running start on a downhill - I'd rather have a van at this point. The "cheap trucks" like the Ford Maverick have a uselessly small 5' bed, which means we keep buying the expensive, retarded trucks when all we want is pic related.
>>61112592> having a $600/mo+ car payment on anythingis insanity. 2mm+ NW, HHI is around 300k, my car is 13 years old worth around 10k, wifes is 7 worth more like 20. dont buy deprecating shit.
>>61112343A new camry is 30 fucking grand nigger
>>61112287Because they're retarded. My buddy doesn't even need a truck. He doesn't use it for tools, he doesn't hunt, he doesn't move furniture, etc. and he owns a Dodge Ram with the HEMI. Think he told me his car payment is $750/mo. He makes $50k/yr.
>>61112287poorfags are a minority
>>61112487also they trick you with cash back on the retail price while hiking up financing fees and also upselling you with premium wheels and $1000 anti-rain coating at signingi recently did preventative maintenance on my honda civic with 100k miles, $2500 to replace tires, brakes, rotors, brake fluid, engine oil, rear shocks, and timing belt, this bitch will run for another 100k easy, this is the only maintenance i've done other than replacing battery since i bought it at 20k miles, my gf thinks i'm a sucker for spending so much on maintenance while she pays $650/mo + insurance on a shitty SUV
>>611122877 year loan at $600/monthIs that dumb for a normie? Yes.Is it impossible? No. Par for the norm of normies>>61112343>"great gas mileage"It's 2025, outside of a cuck state, gas is nothing relative to the cost of ownership.
>>61112653This. America is loaded. And you don't need to buy new, you can get a one year old car for 30% off.
>>61112856The interesting thing is that in the last 10-20 years or so car loans have simply gone from 3 years to 7 years at about the same monthly payment (because lots of people are retarded and only think about monthly payments despite the effective price more than doubling). But what that means is that it ultimately slows car demand down the line because the typical normie retard finishes paying off a car loan and then sells it and buys a new car. At 7 years they're still paying that shit off, and also a fair number of shitboxes will have bit the dust at that point because they require significant out-of-warranty maintenance that the unthinking normie retard won't have planned for and will have put off. Then you have the normie retard with a pile of rust but also an outstanding $20k loan. You can then go to the jewish car dealer and buy a new card and "roll over" the loan into your new loan secured by the new car. But that's increasingly risky as the collateral is less so you get shittier financing, further limiting buying power. This is all a slow-motion train wreck, as the first generation of people going through 2, 3, 4 "7 year" car loans is just bubbling up.What it ultimately boils down to is that normies can only kick the can down the road so far before you have a massive collapse in these car loans and ultimately a collapse in total demand for the auto industry.
>>61112620>dont buy deprecating shit.I bought a new Toyota three years ago and each year the dealership calls me and wants to buy it back at almost the same price I paid. Toyota is purposely controlling inventory to make them more scarce but with inflation and used car market still running hot new cars aren't losing as much as they did say 5-10 years ago when they were driven off the lot.Why would I want to spend 40k on a one or two year old vehicle with 20-30k miles on it for the same cost as buying a new one? Just say you're poor and then I'll understand your gripe.
>>61112599>be obama>ruin USD permanently by running the money printer and rigging the switch to 'ON'>ruin cars by artificially rugpulling the market for 'old' (read: reliable) vehicles>ruin healthcare by the simple virtue of entangling the government bureaucracy within it>ruin immigration permanently by muddying the waters with the dreamers act>have obvious troon wife to showcase the humiliation ritualHe really was the worst president, wasn't he?
>>61112287The f150 lobo package is where they do a lobotomy on you, and that 40k truck turns into an 80k truck financed over 96 months
>>61112287They don't, they got those in the early 2020's because interest rates were low, but now that they are high people are mass defaulting
>>61112613Ditto. I pray to God for a miracle that real trucks are manufactured again like in your pic. There is no free market
>>61112287Just got my new truck a couple weeks ago>>61112456Trucks make money, cars don't >>61113081>Sister is now ~40k in debt on a 8k carI have no idea how rolling the debt over is legal.
normies will never recover
>>61112599cash for clunkers was nearly 20 years ago. those cars have long since been scrapped. normgroids preferentially buying new cars has increased the number of used cars in inventory. cars are expensive due a combination of inflation and because retards are choosing to pay (go into debt) $35k for a 10 year old toyota with 200k miles.
>>61112306/thread
>>61113304Based shitboxer, 2010 honda fit checking in
>>61113287>>Sister is now ~40k in debt on a 8k car>I have no idea how rolling the debt over is legal. It's just more debt secured by less collateral. That's more of a risk since you have less to seize if the person doesn't pay, but I mean people regularly hand out $10k-$50k for credit cards secured by nothing.
>>61112287they buy it used on finance.
>tfw failed my driving examIt's so fucking over for me, I'm a fucking failure

You are a typical American and have no alternative to commuting by car. Which choice do you pick?
>>61113193Give me a long bed, stick shift and reasonable ride height with 4x4.
>>61112613>The irony is modern trucks are shit at actually being trucksThat is a load of shit repeated by soft handed bitch boys who don't uses trucks. Modern trucks tow more weight than they every have at any point in the last 60 years. You can also still buy trucks with 8 foot beds, most people just prefer the short bed + four door combo. That's on you, you could easily go buy a extended cab with an 8 foot bed but you chose not to. Then you get asshurt and whine about it. Do us all a favor and quit bitching about things completely within your control. >The average V8 pickup can tow ~10,000 lbs. and are lifted enough to do basic offroading...two things their owners never actually doSays everything I need to know about you. You are a whiny faggot complaining about yourself. You are the truck owner who doesn't even need a truck. Try towing heavy equipment, watch how fast your trailer weight eats up that tow rating. Fucking yuppie.
>>61113093>each year the dealership calls me and wants to buy it backThis is a pretty common sales/scam tactic where they glaze retards like (you) to get you to roll negative equity into a bigger badder car btw. No one actually wants your shit toyota lmao
>>61112492>>61112856You guys have no idea how much worse reality is. There are trades guys barely making $100k a year before taxes buying 3/4 ton and 1 ton fully loaded trucks with 7 year loans paying in excess of $1000 a month, sometimes in the $1200-$1600 range.
>>61113551Well I'm not a normie and I'm also rich so I'll spend used Honda Civic money to buy a first generation Volvo XC90 V8 with executive package that's super quiet and comfy and decently powerful while having the funds for maintenance and repairs.
>>61113614are you some kind of a high school GED manual laborer? why would i be regularly 'towing heavy equipment' in a vehicle that i drive on a daily basis?
>>61113716I own a company that deals with heavy equipment. Sorry I called you out for all your bullshit and made you look stupid on the internet, I really am. But hey, you can always sell your gay little 1/2 ton that you don't need and drive amore reasonably priced camry or something.
>>61113508I failed one before it even started because the tag light was out. Failed the second one after pulling out into the right lane instead of the closest lane and running up on a curb when parking. Third time I passed it without a problem. Just keep trying, it depends on the tester somewhat too, had a man hating feminist the first two times then an old grandma on the third one. Been driving for over a decade now with no problems.
>>61113728if youre regularly hauling heavy equipment why wouldnt you buy a real truck, like a class 5/6?
>>61113614>You are the truck owner who doesn't even need a truck.Yeah that's *most* people who own trucks. If you actually haul your 4 horses cross country or fill up your truck bed with bags of cement or bricks or whatever, good for you, yes, 10k towing can disappear when you try to tow anything significant. But you're not most people buying these trucks to do that.
>>61113742This is correct. The F150 is tacti-cool and designed to make owners feel like they can run a farm/construction operation while not being the thing someone who actually really needs the capacity would use.
>>61112300>bubble is popping right nowThey've been saying this for years now.
>>61113765im not a tradesfag or manuallabor fag or whatever but i cant imagine these trucks (their transmissions) would last very long if you dared to push them to their 'rated capacity.'
>>61113742Anything that is within CDL territory is contracted out to a local trucker guy instead. There is far too much liability in that and I would rather put that risk on someone who does it full time.>>61113744Plenty of truck owners use their trucks to their capacity, you just don't see it all the time. 50% of the time my truck is completely empty, if you saw it empty going down the road you would probably still make little snarky comments about it regardless of what I haul the other 50% of the time when you don't see it. >>61113765F-150s are light duty trucks with a turbo'd v6 that gets similar fuel milage to a fucking minivan, I just do not understand why you feel the need to bitch about it. Do you whine about every 4runner you see on the road too, a yuppie SUV that gets even worse milage than an F-150?
>>61112287Finance at the low rate of 49.9% APR
>>61112599Not only did cash for clunkers fuck the used market; CAFE regulations actually created the fuck hueg vehicles that leftists bitch about constantly! To answer OP, those trucks are financed for 7 years with no money down, a $500 a month car note is considered very low for normoids.
>>61113787>last very long if you dared to push them to their 'rated capacity.'Plenty do, but you sound like a retarded bus rider
If only you knew how indebted things really are.
>>61113861i own a car but work from home and rarely drive because im not poor and went to college
>>611137871/2 tons will def not hold up to constant 10,000lb+ loads and will be pretty clapped out at 100k especially if not serviced regularly. Trucks meant for constant towing (3/4 ton or 1 ton size) have pretty robust transmissions. Obviously they can still break down over time but it's just "one of those things", you have to pay to play I suppose. If you work them often enough the money you make doing so will offset it. It really depends what transmission we are talking about, the 5R110W or 6r140 holds up for long periods of time for example. But really don't want to go too far into the weeds here, after all this is /biz/ not /o/
Bought my car for toyota 4runner for $3k like 10 years ago. Just works
If any of you were any smart you would watch them YouTube videos about mechanics who take apart Ford truck and other American truck engines. They are filled with the cheapest parts and the stupidest engineering possible. Unfortunately Maine stays like Toyota suck because all their engines are turbos Maybe the last bastion of common Sense is the Honda Ridgeline? Which insecure guys say isn't even a truck

i like watching mechanics on youtube work on these new trucks and holy shit they are all absolute garbage scams. the ford f150 has a rubber belt inside the motor that drives the oil pump and if it breaks the motor destroys itself bc no oil to the top end. also the fuckin oil pan is made out of plastic and it's crush to fit non reusable. if it gets brittle over time or something kicks up and cracks it all the oil will run out and destroy the engine. toyota won't sell v8s anymore and the tundra v6 has 2 turbos with integrated computers on them and if they fail they cost $8000 each (turbos generally last 100k-150k miles) literally predatory engineering and retards are paying 50k+ for these trucks lol. i'll never buy a truck made after 2006
>>61114700yeah denalis are not cheap. Thats probably under MSRP
>>61112450no its still a gas car
>>61112287My coworker just got one. Rolled $30k of negative equity from his last truck into a new $74k loan. Interest is 16%. That's $1000 in interest every month.
>>61114703Emissions pressures weigh down on the older naturally aspirated, big block motors that are proven, so manufactures rush to make twin turbo V6's or hybrid motors (Tacoma). 5.7L V8 HEMI motors after 2006 are good to go though, people regularly get 200k-300k out of them. I've run mine out of 70k so far with good quality oil and the thing is still a cherry. Some folks report the lifter failures ("Hemi Tick") but I haven't seen it, and the theory is it's due to improper lube so I just pay for full synthetic and change the oil aggressively. The only thing that sucks on those trucks is the oil filter placement (plus my truck gripes above), but what can you do.The electronics-heavy turbo motors of the modern era are a maintenance nightmare. Ford in particular makes a lot of junk ass dogshit so the stuff about the F150 is not a surprise to me. I had an early 2000's V6 Explorer and that thing was the most unreliable piece of shit I've ever driven.

>>61114703Yeah, You must be talking about the 5.0 coyote. GM does the same thing with the belts with their 3.0L duramax.OEMs are not so secretly trying to make more profit off the service side of their dealers. And they are purposely engineering shit to fail right outside of warranty periods, sticking customers with expensive repairs or basically forcing them to purchase a newer truck. There are very few new trucks I would buy these days outside of large diesels (which have been largely unchanged for the last 10-20 years depending on which brand you are speaking about). Even the gasser V8s are having issues with lifter failures, particularly GM with all their AFM/DOD bullshit, but also Dodge with their hemis (dodge always sucked ass though) and Ford with their large V8 engines like the 7.3 godzilla. Don't even get me started about the bullshit OEMs do inside their transmission valve bodies either. Separator plates made out of paper, shift valves intentionally designed to wear out and make a poor seal. It's all a joke.>>61114827stuck in the right lane about 10-15 miles behind us trying to catch up I joke, I joke, they are good engines
There are other trucks that would prove your point better. By Burger standards, the f150 is relatively modest and practical. These are not typically bought by people to impress others: they are extremely common and still relatively affordable. Now the $100k+ Super Dutys and other one tons/diesels are a much better example of stupidity and excess.

>>61112287The people who actually need that car have their own business and/or file taxes as contractors or w/e, who can then get cheap as fuck debt with their business account at the local credit union. Each year they also get credits and deductions once they have to file their taxes and get a lot of money back. As well they can easily pay it off in less than 3 years by saving every dollar they earned.Other normalfags that buy that car for status-only are getting raped by interest rates as their minimum wage job + Uber gains is not enough to keep up with car payments, bills, and rent.Anons who have cars from 2010 do much more good for the economy, the environment, and their own finances---especially if they can fix it up by themselves.

Hell you can buy 3 10-year old TDI wagons and still have enough left over to cobble them into 1 working car.

Imho everything is opposite. Meaning sure this car looks cucked. But its paid in full with no headaches, while many normies finance a headache machine that looks cool but they are more cucked than I am
>>61112613Everything you said is right but brings nothing to the table. Redditor level talking points post
Why wouldn’t you buy a vehicle that lasts 2.5-3 times longer than a gas one? Why wouldn’t you buy a vehicle you could run on cooking oil for free? Why wouldn’t you buy a vehicle that’s more fuel efficient than gasoline? Because you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. I drive a small jdm car and a lot of you should really try putting your foot to the floor in a duramax and feeling 1000ft lbs of torque. Maybe then you’d quit being a little bitch that cares about what anyone drives
>>61127334Pre emissions diesel trucks are exploding in value. Parts like the transmission control module on a 2006 GMC Duramax are fetching $2500. As more people are left stranded or upside down on their loan they’ll switch back to these old trucks. Certain things like the anon hauling heavy equipment are in high demand and won’t be going anywhere
>>61113814I think the reason people hate trucks so much is because of how massive and how ugly they are. When the hood is taller than 6 feet, I have a major problem. My wife and I were almost killed in a parking lot because the driver didn’t see us.

Mother fuckers.>>61112613I agree. Trucks are more of a luxury vehicle. Frankly I'd like both because the 2500 Denali HD was a fucking BEAST at driving and being comfy. Make a new character anon its fucked.I had alot of fun, and until NG+ i never died once, with demo/soldier, explosive-fire tank was fun. Also shaman+melee class is great fun too.
I drive a 2014 Silverado. I would like to get a fuel efficient shitbox to drive around town but it's just not worth it with the inflated used prices and the cost of insurance. The reality is that having a clean truck isn't really useful, but all trucks are so expensive that you may as well spend extra and get a clean one. It's a short bed crew cab so it's a mall crawler but it's useful, especially since it's my only vehicle. In an ideal world, I could get a cheap beater regular cab truck and a nice car. But the vehicle market is so fucked up that it doesn't make sense financially to do that, even if it makes sense functionally. You also have to take into account where you live, and although it's still relatively rare compared to highway driving, I encounter more dirt roads than I do parking garages.
>>61128721I put scratches and dents in my denali and king ranch and beat the shit out of them, loaded gross shit into their beds, etc, despite them being "nice"a truck is a truck and it needs to work regardless of weather or not it has heated leather seats and butt massagers, my gramps always put it bluntly "the truck works for you, not the other way around" I get that I am in the rare 10% of truck owners, but still honestly those high end trim level trucks are the best to buy second hand after they take the depreciation hit because they generally see very light use and you can get a "premium" truck that was only driven by some dumbfuck boomer who only used it to haul groceries
