Remember when tubes of silver were just $500 or so dollars? Easily attainable on a monthly basis. Now they are over $1000... I guess it can only get worse from here. The only question is wtf do you do with your savings at this point?
At one point I was thinking about stacking some income ETFs "just incase" there is another round of kick-the-can. But on its face you can see how the prospect of earning basis points of income is meaningless in the face of these moves in commodity prices. You will never keep up.
>>
>>61117332
I bought it from a local auction/appraisal house. They rarely use eBay though. Only a few hundred sales. They have a wide range of items. The boomer that listed this along with a dozen other "junk" silver dollars didn't use the proper categories or search words. There was no reserve and I was the only one bidding on their items. I won all twelve dollars for WAY under spot.pic related, in CAD. Had them looked over at my LCS under a sigma and my dealer or myself weren't looking at mint stamps or dates because most of the coins were in rough shape and he was doing me a favor just to confirm they were legit. It could be cleaned, I don't know. It was just a nice happy moment when I was looking at ones I'd sell first only to see the CC stamp. I'll post the obverse

im seeing a lot of people saying dealers arent buying 90% right now or paying way less for it. i understand its largely because most or many refineries arent accepting it right now, but is there anything else that a situation like this is indicative of? or is that literally the only reason?

Would /pmg/ do it?

Estate state mystery grab-bag tickets. The more tickets you buy, the better the loot they throw into the mystery bag.

One arguement is you're gonna get ripped off. The other arguement is they are trying to liquidate the dead guy's shit fast and don't care if they get pennies on the dollar.

Been years since I did one of these but sure

>Be librarian helper in my Uni
>befriend a sparrow of a woman who sat alone
>eventually opens up that she escaped Venezuela a few years after their funny money collapsed
>Went into detail about how her mom and her did everything to earn enough to pay for her four siblings.
>eventually silver started being bartered and that's when her mother and her started selling their bodies
>ate mostly rice, beans and arepas slop until she married her fiance who somehow got into the US from his mother who was a nurse who just became a citizen.
>She still sent like 70% of her paychecks to her family in Venezuela

I know about the FWTDHWATQAD but I am serious on this

>father KIA protecting their home and stash of jewelry
>one of her older siblings managed to OD and eventually her siblings came to US too
>divorced her husband because it's the American way after she became a legal resident from serving four years in Navy and uber slutting it up

She told me for like barely a scrape of silver like I'm talking less the half a gram she would give head. And realistically she wasn't even sure what she received was real silver so she kept a powdered and silver crumb tube tied around her neck at all times of what she assumed had been real. She basically had to sleep with old men and their sons, with many many people she doesn't even remember how many. But that is what happened in her country and in her case it wasn't even as bad as it could have been. A lot of her friends growing up died doing the same thing she did. Just trying to survive with their families. I feel like there is an entity that looks out for people and gives them as much dumb luck as possible just so their stories can be told to others. And in the end she is a very broken person same as all of us but in a worse way. When I asked if people were just complacent I kind of already knew the answer. Until they have no choice

As a fairly new stacker in canada(bought it before the massive increase), should I mix in some U.S recognized silver and U.S junk into my stack? Also, I was thinking of adding British gold sovereigns into my nu-gold stack (I currently only have 0.5toz in gold, and roughly 125toz in silver) I overheard boomers at my coin shop saying "gold sovereigns are the most used and circulated gold coin in the world" and an afghan veteran in there claiming he seen locals in Afghanistan still bartering with gold sovereigns. but i don't think that correlates to the average normie in canada, i have fractional gold maples and a purely maple / canadian junk silver stack, shit that normal people would recognize, i don't know if British sovereigns would fall into that category.

The 6 month chart of Gold is nutty

Btw the crazy thing about all of this to me is that I didn’t realize the memes of being destitute without gold and silver were actually true or that it could happen in my lifetime. Sucking dick for a gram of silver to buy food is fucking grim. I thought it was all just a sensible hedge with all the printing. I unironically take all the memes posted about having to suck cocks and go hungry or any other suffering as a consequence seriously now kek

We're in the end stage of our society.
>Google must filter out its applicants
>What do we do?

This is what tech companies do now, it's just endless show, meaningless criteria to hire people (bro, just ask them to tell you how to blow up superman if you were ant man), and then they pretend they're smart and worth 10 trillion.

Nah, that shit's gay, stack metals and wait for sanity to return.

It doesn't sound like much by today's numbers but wait until everyone has nothing and has start at zero.
>>
>>61118437
It is hard to believe, I think it might skip this bullrun and wait until a TRUE shortage happens.
Basically the ratio is so skewed because silver actually is "everywhere", in that you can go and buy a few coins or a spoon at an antique mall. We aren't yet quite at the point where it's like gold, where it's used only for the most expensive ornamentation and other such things.

Silver just isn't that rare yet, and I think it'll take years for people to realize that the sterling spoon they saw in that mall was just one spoon, and there actually isn't that much to go around.
The ratio narrows immediately when people start holding physical gold and silver again. Until then we see silver neglected and not treated as a precious metal, right now it's a semi-precious metal.
>What is a precious metal then?
Bare-minimum several days work for an ounce, we're talking 500. I think the ratio corrects if retail ever buys in, and it doesn't move, and it might just correct to there without retail by shortages of production.

Right now there's only silver out there because nobody's buying, relatively speaking. Doubling investment demand of 2024 would double the silver deficit - and that's what we're seeing right now. The higher the deficit, the higher we get to a ratio correction.

Do you lot talk about stocks related to PM too?

I'll give it at least 5 months before silver hits $100
It might be actually over then, but now? Now silver is still quite cheap. The GSR hit 79 a few days ago, I thought the door was beginning to close- but now it's back to 1/81, silver is still incredibly undervalued

I bought a 100 oz bar for about $1,650 a while back, it was either spend it on silver or get a 1 oz gold buffalo for around $1,300. Silver hasn't outperformed yet but were on the doorstep, then I can swap for more gold hopefully around 30:1 and under.

90.8kg is (90800÷31.10348) 2,919ozt and some change. That makes it ($100,000÷31.10348=) $34.26/ozt.

Can we all at least agree that without hard money, fiat reserve currencies inevitably lead to financialization, which invariably hollows out economies, leading to near complete control of society by one particular (((class)))?

The bullion banks, with the tacit approval of the central banks, along with the collusion of the government regulators, have been manipulating the prices of precious metals for decades, with the goal of creating high volatility, which has the effect of making gold and silver undesirable investments, thus reducing the total market cap, which results in lower overall prices. And it worked.

Until now. That system is failing in real time and will completely break as investment demand increases above a certain threshold. If either enough stackers begin to buy and hold, or institutional investors rotate into PMs, it's over for the current pricing regime.
>The Bullion Banks flooding the LBMA with paper #Gold and #Silver promissory notes (most of which are not backed by physical metals) so that they can leverage up with their fiat funding and make money via arbitrage is what the Banksters call “providing liquidity to the Gold and Silver market”.

>A normal sane person with average IQ would call this “painting the tape” to suppress the price of #Gold and #Silver.

>It is convoluted. The system itself is corrupt.

>Imagine someone breaking in and stealing all that shit.
If you living in a rented flat, particularly in Europe with high taxes on silver, gold becomes a viable alternative because you can easily hide gold almost anywhere, including inside an old clock radio that no one would consider stealing.

Not owning PMs allows the government to steal your currency via inflation daily.

It's important to remember that if the average of them had any decent stack at all (like 100 ounces) that would 50 million ounces, 1/4 of the annual silver deficit.
But realistically (and going from their polls) the average (median) is somewhere around 10-20. /pmg/ has a higher average by far, they have bigger whales - or at least people dumb enough to post their giant stacks.
I don't think there are many posters here with less than 100.

>>61118825
It's not. It's cyclical, with stocks. Gold tends to run countercyclical to stocks. Bitcoin is being driven up as a speculative asset, not a safe haven.
