>how do you determine its value?
Base it off of dollar value for the time being. It's the quickest and easiest way for the short term.
>But what if there's no Internet?
Then better start taking screenshots of the daily price, print it out or go off of memory.
When it comes to the value of metals/currency, it's the people not the elites are the ones who determine that. It's also the people who determine what the prices of goods and services are. If you mean "value" by what the weight and purity of metals are, then yes, that's up to the eliti.
But back to the pricing of metals. It'll take time to figure that out. Take a look at Venezuela, they price goods and services in literal flakes of gold or in grams for larger purchases. How did they figure that out? By talking and bartering with each other. It will also depend on location and the quantity/quality of metals.
Another way I thought of it, when it comes to figuring out prices and values, it does also come down to how people value their time. People value their time in dollars or whatever their currency is. They think what their job/value is to their company, what they're making, and what their salary can purchase. So when it comes to making purchases be it with dollars or metals, people will take a look at the quantity and quality of goods and services are available and the same with metals.
I'm sorry I don't have a better response but when it comes to prices/values of metals or goods, the public will eventually figure it out. And I believe that will fall largely on us, those who stack metals. We will be a linchpin in helping others when it comes to using metals again as a currency.

Silver is up almost 6% the past 5 days. Relax the fundamentals haven't changed. The debt bubble is still unfathomably big and precarious. The deficits keep getting bigger. The banks are still sitting on billions in unrealized losses. Central Banks are still buying gold.

I came across a bunch of youtube videos about 1 gram gold bars, but all the videos and comments were UK based. It seems like 1 gram bars are popular over there? Gram bars always seemed like a lost cause because the premiums are up the ass, and even if gold tripled in value, you only come up like $300 profit. X8MGAY captcha

Trade premarket on a penny stock and you'll see actual price discovery. I was sitting there this morning trying to unload my bags of OMER and I was watching these slimy fucks try to drive the price down with orders of tiny lots. The buyer would drop the price a penny and the seller would raise and hold, eventually a third party would come in with a price closer to one of them and move the average traded price and then the buyers and sellers would reposition their orders. It was like literally watching bulls and bears have a tug of war.

I unloaded my bags at $9.52 a share and then it tanked on open.

I have no clue why they'd be popular, unless there are hoards of poorfags who can only afford to buy one gram at a time and only want .999 Gold.

The only unknown and it's a big unknown is how the government will respond. They stopped the true correction from happening in 2008 and put us on this new trendline and they might try to do it again which would prevent the 16x in gold prices that should happen by 2035. China gives me faith though, if they don't play ball and let true price discovery happen then it will be wild.

Lol this isnt a rug, this is a floor mat at best. They have inception level stacks of rugs where they can pull a lower layer rug and rug the rug. Have you ever seen one of those sound rooms with carpet on the wall? They can rug your fucking walls bro. Did you watch that youtube about the kid that crawled down in the rolled up mat? They can do that with rugs. They can build subfloors on top of rugs and tile over it all. Then rug the subfloor out.

Buy from local coin shop or online bullion dealer. Buy generic rounds, sov minted coins (leafs, eagles, krugs etc.), or 10oz bars. whatever is well priced. It’s not rocket science anon, exchange dollaridoos and get shiny metal. Don’t go to eBay or private sellers until you know what you are doing
>>

It worth eating the VAT IMO given silver is in such sort supply there. Its like you'll make the premium back in 2-3 weeks so no big deal.

I'm forecasting a pullback but this has been a major wake up call, bros. I feel we've been exposed to a brief glimpse into the reality of our stacks and what they entail. Imagine when things truly go mad. When grandma's getting devoured by scary looking brown people and half the world's on fire. This short little moon is a tease of what's to come. 3 oz of based silber is 150 gosh dang hecking dollars. Gold hurts at any price. Tighten the belt and focus on converting worthless fiat into blessed shinies. Buy land now. I'm spending my afternoons building a homestead. Lord, bless my frens and their stacking journeys. Deliver us from evil. Let us only partake in the formally well to do housewives when our mercs are overflowing and our balls are blue. Amen. Amen. Amen.
>>
>>61141665
well that's different, there's no need to buy gold less than 999. but there is a need to buy silver

Thats the 2nd time this year (1st was September). Raising margins is one of the few remaining tricks they can do. That explains the sell off or liquidation. Everyone had to comply with the new margin requirements which dumped a bunch of silver of the market. Not to worry this is merely kicking the can.

Bullion means .999 or finer. Pure metal.
Sovereign minted coins are official government mints, these are always also bullion. People tend to gravitate to them for their recognizability and some of them like maple leafs and Britannia’s have a lot of modern security features.
Generics are called ‘rounds’, but they are coins for all intents and purposes. They’re recognizable by the fact they have no face value printed on them and they made by private companies like sunshine minting and many others.
Infinite eli5 stuff of YouTube to get you the basics.
You really can’t go wrong if you buy from reputable sellers.

>i dont really see them having much to work with the way they did back then, and even if they try it with gold it'll just signal more slurping by central banks (and me), silver I'd expect the same, chinks would slurp a retarded amount (as an aside i just realized they probably aren't buying just for themselves but also to supply their vodka neighbor too)
>if they can pull off a crash i dont see how it could last, retail isnt driving this, institutions that dont trust the US are
>i could be wrong tho, im not a finance type i just collect rocks
i think you are right. honestly the incentive is to drive UP the price, in order to stop these "bad" countries from buying so damn much.

Trouble with bars is that they are liable for capital gains tax if and when one does wish/need to sell them on, whereas recognised UK coinage like Britannias are not. More expensive in the short term, but in the long run a more sensible choice in a non Mad Max scenario if and when silver moons.
>>
>>61141857
I just looked at my old junk silver calculator spreadsheet page and it spans from 16FV to 25FV. I filled up a guardbox of dimes, quarters and halves to complete that goal and thank god I was ahead of the curve.

what today reads like to me is that the best they could do on an Options expiry day and under the current circumstances is tamp the price by 5%, either they dont have the means to tamp it more or they're afraid of even heavier foreign arbitrage if they do. meanwhile all these newniggers and coping paperfags are losing it over 5% drop when back in April there was a near 17% tamp. the worst thing about these panicky faggots is they view pm's the same way they look at the paper they pay Cede&Co to hold.

It is what it is, my friend. Gold's still a good buy, I think, but silver has hit its new resistance point. It'll keep bouncing around 50 +/- $10 for years now, so get it when it dips.
>>
>>61141778
A few threads ago I said I placed a large order and was worried about it getting canceled/refunded and you said don't worry about it.
Fun story, owner of the reseller company I ordered called me personally to thank me for my order, but profusely apologized as there was a mix-up in inventory and I wouldn't be able to get all identical rounds, some would have to be an alternate from the same mint. I said it's not a problem, silver is silver. Upon getting a tracking number he wrote me apologizing again saying that there had to be some substituted from other mints. I just said I'm fine with that and not to worry at all.
So I'll get a fun mixed bag now, but I'll get my 220toz either way.
>>
>>61141862
They need physical inventory to pull that off. Who would be silly enough to fork over your physical stockpiles to short sellers in the face of panic buying? The price needs to rise and its interesting to see the importance of silver revealed in them not willing to let it happen.

Not advice but all I'll say to a newfren is you'll find /pmg/ and co much more relaxing, and you'll stop caring so much about the daily ups and downs. With crypto you can't help but stare at trends and psychology.

You bought this week and its gone down? Who cares, you just stop caring about the daily graphs because month on month year on year it keeps going up overall in such a relaxed manner and you become confident and stress-free knowing its such a safe direction

check it out I bought this cool pig the other day. Go to a dealer, online store or LCS, start buying pretty patterns you like, just relax, take it easy

I’m betting on a more or less seamless transition. Otherwise I don’t care anymore. If what is happening now was happening 30 years ago or even in 2011 I’d be totally energized in being a prepper and organizing with other Americans. But I’m not gonna put the energy into a homestead just to get BTFO by the hordes coming after you. Just knowing they very easily could would be too much anxiety to justify the effort you need to put in to being secure, and even then it’s no guarantee with some black swan. Im hoping people with metals and crypto separate from the chaff and things don’t go mad max, at least for more than a month. In 1920, the average price of an ounce of silver was approximately $1.01. This was determined by dividing the average price of gold in 1920 ($20.67) by the gold/silver price ratio of that year (20.28)

I think that silver won’t make you rich. It’ll just give you a not bad head start over everyone else. So if you have 300 ounces of silver you basically have 3-4 months head start on others.

In 1803, the U.S. bought about 512 million acres of land from France for $15,000,000 (The Louisiana Purchase). The 1803 U.S. silver dollar contains about 0.7734 troy oz of silver, so 11,601,000 troy oz of silver for 512 million acres of land, which comes out to about 44.13 acres per troy oz of silver or roughly .023 troy oz of silver per 1 acre of land.

Will we ever see this land to silver ration again? Probably not, but Even if it got to a 1:1 toz silver to acre of land ratio, it would be a win for stackers, and every American who wanted to own land for that matter. There is certainly enough of it to go around, even with our current population numbers.

My primary goal for stacking silver is to hedge against inflation but what the future could bring for silver only time will tell. Silver will always be a critical commodity for civilization, and its much more critical now in our modern world than it was in 1803. It's also getting much harder and expensive to mine more silver. Most silver mined today is as a supplementary ore, meaning they are mining for some other ore, and find deposits of silver as a byproduct. Its estimated that Only 20%-30% is mined from a primary silver mine.

So yeah. I have high hopes for the future of silver. And if the time comes when the price drops for (((whatever reason))) im gonna buy that dip.

Mercs for sure. Platinum is entirely industrial. Very important industrial, but because it depends on certain industries thriving, it is a bet against a global economic downturn. I think the consensus is that platinum might be something to add to an already bulging stack of silver and gold but probably not otherwise. That's my take on it.

I would agree with this if silver wasn't being manipulated so hard. Silver still has a much larger upside potential imo.

Literally down one day's gains, cryptotard. No one wants to buy into your computer file pyramid scheme anymore. Stop being so desperate. Be a man, accept that you got tricked into the crypto scam by all the hype, and start over. A good, safe place for you to begin again is precious metals. History is full of examples of stocks, bonds, agricultural and industrial commodities, fiat and cryptocurrencies dropping to zero and becoming completely worthless for the rest of time. How many times has that happened to gold or silver? Never. Not once in 5000 years of recorded human history. You wouldn't have to scam and hype every single day just to preserve and grow your wealth. You'd just have to put your money into the safest investment in world history and wait. That's it. No losing everything every few years, no suicidal thoughts, no bipolar market cycles of elation and mania and bad knee-jerk purchases followed immediately by crushing defeat and repo men. You just let time pass and you come out ahead. Think about it.

Plat / Pala are long-holds where you're basically speculating.
Not so much of a meme if you know the fundamentals, since they're both mined in very limited amounts in like 2 countries total, and so if said two countries go to war or become communist or kill the ypipo or something they can just randomly do a 5x-10x - this actually happened with palladium recently, and now we're in the pala recovery period after the dump.

Basically they're not the same as gold / silver, which are PM's. They're rare commodities that are highly volatile, but if the stars align they could randomly do a 20x and be as valuable as rhodium.
Good luck finding a buyer at those prices though.

You see for me, it was all about about this anon who posted OC of absolutely massive tits with ASEs resting vertically upon the equally prominent nipples. The thread got taken down and he was banned of course but it was at that moment I knew I was amongst not only frens, but true chads as well.
I keep thinking about those nipples. I keep thinking about how robust a nipple needs to be to support a 1oz silver coin resting on it and keep the coin balanced. One can only imagine what other wonders they are capable of. Anyways when I saw the image, I immediately knew that anon is going to make it and by extension, I know I am going to make it because I also stack.KKGW8

Bros, I'm going to an estate sale tomorrow - the final day of the sale so 1/2 off - of what seems to be a coin schizo's house.
They just are gonna rip me off there, right? I know reasonable prices for all of this, I'm hoping to pick up some boxes of stuff. I've seen some crazy final day deals, but it's likely someone already bought all the good stuff, right?
Also It's a massive amount of coins, so maybe all of the best stuff isn't gone because there's just too much of it. The guy had what looks to be entire boxes of pennies, put into tubes.

No pics I don't want my sale getting sniped.
