Competitors are QuantConnect and Quantopian, they both suck at UI basically. This is the IDE view on the develop page for example, AI interoperability built in. Sexy, modern. It doesn't "write a strategy using ChatGPT and some TV Chart", it aids in writing extension code in a tested framework that was written by hand and manually tested, so it's results should be real and not have hidden look-ahead bias type bugs or other AI shits. The AI eligible code is sandboxes basically to the users environment. It's not using AI as a brain but as an assistant. It can assist with running the Jupyter Notebooks too, choosing from a pre-defined tool-chain of viable next steps (regime correlation, SL/TP optimization, etc).

There's also a research page which a half baked example of a Jupyter notebook GUI/UI thing. Basically though the idea is a newsfeed community with shared framework for discussing quant fin. I want it to be like HN but with a quant-fin focus.

it's a reinsurer. if there's an earthquake or a bad storm that could turn the earnings into a massive loss, so a discount is warranted. practically the entire insurance sector trades at a low multiple, although this is cheap. it looks like an opportunity but there's catastrophe risk. also there's probably a cap to the upside because of the low growth. if you want a long term lower risk asset, it looks like a good idea. but why when there are stocks growing their earnings at double and triple digit rates in a bull market? it could underperform for a very long time. value stocks often get ignored until growth breaks down, see 2022 for an example of that, their only window of outperformance in decades. it's not that it's a bad investment, it's that there are so many better ones.

A.A.'s "MAIN TAPROOT"
October 19
The principle that we shall find no enduring strength until we first admit complete defeat is the main taproot from which our whole Society has sprung and flowered.

TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, pp. 21-22

Defeated, and knowing it, I arrived at the doors of A.A., alone and afraid of the unknown. A power outside of myself had picked me up off my bed, guided me to the phone book, then to the bus stop, and through the doors of Alcoholics Anonymous. Once inside A.A. I experienced a sense of being loved and accepted, something I had not felt since early childhood. May I never lose the sense of wonder I experienced on that first evening with A.A., the greatest event of my entire life.

It's easy to forget my lowest low as time passes but I must remember. It's only after hitting rock bottom most times a trader can see the light and return to a path of profitability. I have experienced many rock bottoms in my life. Hopefully not any more. With the help from the experience strength and hope of my fellow traders, I feel loved and accepted even when the market causes me fear and greed.

>>
How can your portfolio be in red when the chart literally went up for years without any sign of stopping?
>>
>>61150762
i don't have the charts handy but it takes more hours worked to buy an ounce of gold than ever, and the last two peaks on the chart were followed by sharp declines. also the precious metals/commodity ratio is higher than ever. smart people have done work on this. that's not proof but it's good evidence, and the bull case for gold is fantasies about institutional breakdown when in truth they are stronger than ever and consolidating more power.
>>
>>61150754
Thanks anon it is great to hear about your dad. It is a blessing everyday to know we and our loved ones are choosing life
>>
>>61150777
Its not about institutional breakdown it's about money printing which keeps increasing and makes your cash more and more worthless. Also in the 80s gold went from $150 to $850. If that happens again then this bull run is far from over

>Its not about institutional breakdown it's about money printing which keeps increasing and makes your cash more and more worthless
then it is about instutional breakdown because you're betting on them allowing you to scape their economic control over you life, which can only happen if there's an institutional breakdown.

Anon isn’t that wise of the mark with TLT. If (when) the wheels fall off and the fed is busy cutting rates and printing money TLT could do a good 50%+ into the middle of 2026, while everything else goes to shit. It’s rounding out a bottom on the chart, but it might be a touch early, maybe one more little dip while the stock market has its blowoff top first.

>The hardship in Pilsen and other communities has been largely hidden in the macroeconomic data, however. Consumer spending continues to outpace inflation. Household debt levels have risen but are manageable relative to Americans’ incomes. Broad measures like gross domestic product point to an economy that has slowed but remains fundamentally healthy, surprising many forecasters.

>But that resilience increasingly rests on a relative handful of well-off households. Economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston recently found that growth in consumer spending since 2022 “has been propelled by the highest-income consumers.”

>“By contrast,” the researchers noted, “spending growth for low-income consumers has been much weaker.”

>The divergence creates two sources of fragility, warned Dhiren Patki, an author of the Boston Fed study. With so much riding on high earners, the economy could suffer if stock prices fall or some other shock leads them to pare their spending. And lower-income households are already stressed financially, leaving them vulnerable if the labor market weakens further.

>The bifurcated picture is a challenge for policymakers at the Federal Reserve. Strong consumer demand could keep pressure on prices while tariffs are fueling concerns about inflation. But if the central bank keeps interest rates high to fight inflation, cracks forming in the labor market could widen.

The rates dropping is irrelavant to the trade fren, the problem is the volatility of futures contracts (as well as the underlying of course) that widens the split. Imagine being short an option and the IV gets a +30%. Now imagine you do that with 100x leverage.

if you were to buy the open of SOXL and sell the daily top, you would average about 2.5% per day over the last 2 months. why havent you?
>>

>>

Thats the funny part
Usd is dropping but every other currency is dropping value faster lol

>>
hows the price of chocolate gold coins?
>>
>>61154336
Thats not how it works babe. You are conflating purchasing power and currency pairs i think. When people talk about the value of usd they mean the currency pairs, and its either strengthening or weakening, and there are hundreds of pairs. Dxy is a basket comparison, but there are others, and it is usually used as the measuring stick. But to say it is weakening but others are weakening more just does not make sense, its value is measured in relation to other currencies, not purchasing power or money supply.

Cannot for the life of me make a spreadsheet that allocates share parcels. How do people format this shit so that it's readable or makes sense. I have nearly two hundred trades across 35 tickers and it's just fucked up. Some parcels need to be split and allocated specifically in a certain order for longterm capital gain reasons. How do people do this shit? I feel like I need some bespoke GUI for sorting and matching these transactions. Whats the magic formula? Block diagram or sheet wise what is the best way to structure a share sale tracker? I hate these stupid fucking formulas and functions. They're all so useless to me although I'm in apple numbers. Do I learn spreadsheeting or PANDAS or something?

greenspan called the dotcom bubble in 1996

they were right, from 1999 Q4 it started declining down until the bottom in 2001.. the market reverted back to levels never before seen since 1996 levels, greenspan was right all along!!
