Would you be able to land a plane in an emergency situation?

>This question is meant to test your leadership and intuitive thinking skills.
>>
Yes preferably into a tower
>>
>>61152974
yeah, just deploy the wheels, adjust angle of attack and then with the help of the motor reduce the speed to an adequate level for landing
>>
>>61152974
I could crash it with no survivors
>>
>>61152974
Yeah I can land it. No one will survive though.
>>
>>61152974
But I've never been on a plane in an emergency situation
>>
When do I start?
>>
>>61152974
I am able to successfully land a long-range heavy strategic bomber in War Thunder simulator mode
>>
>>61152974
>Yes. Next question.

yes, i've learned from the finest youtube documentaries on the subject.
>>

Depending on the plane yes I would. I have spent a lot of hours in flight simulators. Yes I am ashamed to admit that fact.
I would do some version of the following
>turn off ATP
>adjust throttle to maintain level flight
>fly ball
>find PTT
>declare emergency
>read indicated fuel/air speed/altitude to ATC
>ask ATC for vector assignment to nearest safe landing
>ask for stall speeds for my particular aircraft
>fly vectors given
>try really hard not to kill everyone on landing
>>
>>61152974
Yeah, I've played some flight sim games. You gotta drop elevation by going in a large spiral then line up with the runway a few km out and then try to get your airspeed down to 90 knots by banking up before touching down. Easy peasy. I did crash 9 times out of 10 in the game tho.

Just set the autopilot to land, easy.
>>
I've got about 45 minutes worth of Microsoft flight simulator experience, so yes, definitely
>>
>>61152974
I've watched enough air crash investigation to know you must deploy the flaps

But it's probably a trick question, if you answer yes they flag you as an overconfident moron
>>
>>61152974
I think I could land a plane, but I would need more space than a runway.
>>
>>61152974
Don't know, but in an emergency situation you need to try to do it if you're alone, or if you're with others then find the most qualified person to do it and facilitate them doing that while not letting the rambo retards anywhere near the cockpit.

Go for the nearest body of water. All planes can land on water. That's why the seat cushions are flotation devices.
>>
Yes, but probably only once

i landed the space shuttle in orbiter flight simulator 2016. so, maybe. maybe not, but hopefully haha!
>>

Most modern airplanes can land themselves

Yes I have 100% confidence I can
I have flown a glider and played a lot of flight sim.
this autismo stole a plane from book learning
>>
>>61152974
Yes if i was assisted by the tower
>>
>>61152974
I don't even know how to board a plane, much less fly one.
>>
>>61152974
Id grab the only parachute, open the door and see if I can figure out how to open the chute which is more likely than me figuring out how to fly a plane.
>>
>>61152974
Yes, i watched a video maybe a week ago on how to land a commercial jet. The most important thing is to remember the emergency frequency/code, which is 121.5 if I recall correctly. At that point someone can then guide you through the rest of the steps to land the plane using the autopilot. All you need to do is follow their instructions and stay focused, making sure to communicate everything. Then at the end you can control the planes direction with the foot pedals a bit just to keep it on the runway.

Yes.

Sounds very cowardly
