What are 4caca's opinion on the knifepocalypse? Anyone investing in anything or are (you) panic selling? Me personally ive picked up some raisins like Desert Eagle | Conspiracy, Factory New ones, reason being that they were cheap compared to other pinks from breakout collection and the knifes in it are generally rare and probably very desirable among the retards, like factory new Night, case hardened, crimson web or fade i think.
Ugly knives are going to zero, only hobo cheaters will use them
I’m waiting til next Friday to spend a couple grand on knives just as a fun investment. Really curious to see what happens when all the knives being traded up for flood the market in 7 days, prices will go down for a couple days for sure, which is why I have my eyes set on next Friday. Not sure what this means long term tho, especially for reds. Agent prices also dipped significantly (I’m guessing people are selling en masse to buy reds and they already have a low circulating supply). Also I can’t imagine valve reintroducing previous agent skins and condomhead is a mainstay meme in CS. Picking him up for $60 is a steal
Just lost 20k in 5 hours. Yeah
>>61179829>funny internet money that can't be cashed out without jumping through hoops>manipulated by china>no inherent value>susceptible to rugpulls>has no real world usebtw i'm describing every crypto and skins, but at least you can use skins ingame.
>>61179867>asking this on the digital tulips boardkek, lmfao even
>>61179829how does it affect crates? i still have like atleast 350 breakout cases that i bought at 3 cents each back in 2016
>>61180859>sellwhat else? It is going to crash the market either way.
>>61180859Just hold, cases will be fine. The more of these coverts get burned to get a knife the more gambling will need to be done via cases to get more coverts for a trade up.
>>61180859do you need the money? if not then hold. people will thank you for your sacrifice.
>>61180859cases aint going anywhere. if anything they might get a bump now that every once-dogshit red is actually worth a shit
I have a butterfly slaughter. Should I still sell or is it too late?It was 3k just yesterday. Now only 1.1k .Its over

KEK this is an actual rug pull lol
Just bought a shit ton of classic flip knife skins. Im thinking that the old cases are expensive as fuck anyways to begin with and there will be more people trading up the recent reds from the newer collections rather than the older ones.
the worst consequence to all of this is not the prices of random, particular items or even entire categories like knives. the absolute worst thing about this whole thing is how it shows that valve is completely unpredictable and doesn't give a fuck OR even worse: is completely clueless about its own economy. before this update, they had a really good track record of just not fucking with the system because it worked. but maybe they just lucked into it and didnt actually design it perfectly. it felt like you could invest in the cs skins market for a decade because the game kept growing in popularity, and there were no re-releases of skins and the economy just worked well. now, we have no fucking idea what they could do next. who knows? they could make cases untradable, or re-release very rare cases because why not. or just make an ingame shop where you can straight up buy the best items (they kinda already did). they lost the trust of the community in a big way and things are not crashing because of repricing but because of a general exodus of investors who changed their mind on investing or keeping any capital in the cs market as a whole because now anything could happen any day. a new precedent was set
>>61182205>investors are mad!!!These are just some shitty skins. Boo hoo now people have a chance to get them too by cashing in crappy ones oh no.Good on Valve.
Bought a lot, used some to get this and keeping the covert skins to sell in a week.
just made about 8k just market buying skins with rare sticker crafts jesus I bought a x4 dreamhack fnatic holo craft on a 10€ gun and multiple more for the last 8 hours sniping shit like crazy
>>61182329You can take stickers off guns ?
>>61182339no but people pay premium for rare crafts I can sell that gun for 300 or 400 easy
>>61182343I don't get it
>>61182343but you could have done that before the patch aswell? what am i missing
>>61182329Here's hoping you're not catching falling knives. The new item trade bans wear off in exactly a week. if its gonna hard crash, it will be then
>>61182543there's no 7 day trade ban
>>61182559All the newly crafted knifes have a trade delay, dont they? When those can all be sold at once, the market could crash. valve has never done anything like this before. id be fearful, not greedy
>>61179829Giving 0 fucks and looking to take up a large pool of those 10k Core and Houdini offer
>>61182580ah, i just read that if the skins used in the trade up are not trade banned, then the knife won't be either. But it will be trade banned if any of the skins used had an existing trade ban on them
>>61182594Everyone's buying reds for cheap to trade up, so yeah, I think next week will be brutal.
>>61182580The market will severely crash next week unless Valve do something drastic, and quick. But that would mean the largest video game economy powerhouse in the world doesn't even know basic ecoomics works, or doesn't care.
>>61182652definitely, imo legacy knives will be the least affected, but the dopplers and all the newest gloves/knives will be fucked lol.
How can a poorfag like me take advantage of the currently fucked skin market?
>>61182329where are you buying from? i wanna get in this market but its confusing as fk. i used to trade tf2 shit like 2 decades ago
>skines
I am genuinely flabbergasted that anyone on the planet would pay even a cent for a videogame skin, much less invest so much money into them.Did everyone just forget the 2000's when you'd download a ton of skins for free from FPSbanana or ModDB? Why the fuck are they paying cash for that now?
>>61185180>Did everyone forget you can make your own blockchain? Who need crypto?>Did everyone forget you can paint rocks gold?? who needs goldyou're not as smart as you think you are
>>61185193>>Did everyone forget you can paint rocks gold?? who needs gold
Honestly it's a good thing. Red skins were utterly useless.Solid advice: if you have anything left, buy the dip.Market is already recovering. If you sell stuff shittier skins just ahead of the 29/30 Oct you can score yourself some cheap knives.Or you can just hoard cases lmao
>>61186528Meant for >>61184730Honestly just buy cases.

>>61186534dumb af>>61184730don't, game is deadt. 20+ year old steam acc
>>61188325What do you hold? It's very item dependent so there will be stuff not hit as hard or pulled back to pre-pump levels. I'm fortunate to have bought early and diversified. Sucks for people who've accumulated in the past 1 - 2 years.
They should make it so every item can be crafted in game for 1$.
As someone who doesn't play CS2 I agree with valve on this update because I heard the game has NFTs, gambling and market manipulation and those things are bad. So I'm glad investors lost their money and I'm glad everyone can get low supply + high demand skins for cheap now instead of the low demand + high supply that were already cheap. It's not fair that the poor are forced to play with low demand + high supply skins that nobody wants. All skins should be cheap.
more like tulip bulb general lmaoooo
>>61180663>Also I can’t imagine valve reintroducing previous agent skinsroflthey just made the rarest items that were the basis of skins economy obtainable by trade ups but you "can't imagine" them release something that was already in the game before (factions)

bump.want to hear more stories about this crash.
>>61180971Actually this.
>they didn't take the sticker pilloh no, bros. oh no.
>>61194129qrd?

kek knife baggies
>>61179835With hindsight, since 2015, the 2014 Katowice sticker capsules have outperformed both Bitcoin and boomer stocks in growthYou hate money
>>61179829The market was overvalued, Gabe is based, knives were too hard to obtain and now it's a lot more reasonable to get a knife. It's still not cheap. The cheapest 5 covert skins you can buy still means you have to spend $250 just to craft a random knife. The covert supply will dwindle and then knives will normalize and go up. Knives will crash again in the next few months as people who crafted will begin to sell, but they'll still be absurdly expensive. It's just that before they were absolutely retarded expensive.
>>61194129>>61194142it's "not" affected because it's never selling lmao. last sold for these are like 3-4 years ago.
>>61179829Can't image if prophex start taking cs2 in the betting place, I will be all around
Ran some numbers, update is bullish on series one gloves. they only come from 2 cases (glove and op hydra cases) and none of the reds in those cases were cheap before the update, see pic related with math.Series one gloves have been affected by the overall crash though, might be good to schlorp cheapies before people realise how little gloves will be added by the new crafting system.>tl;dr buy glove cases, op hydra cases and series one gloves
>>61194535>Knives will crash again in the next few months>the next few monthslmao try 5 days from now
>>61194582I'm not checking them all but the last 3DMax Holo sold 4 months ago on Western market. Likely less longer on Chinese. If you have a collection of these, you're probably fine waiting and are in no hurry to sell anyway.
Bottom is in, go buy some golds.
