mine let me stay homeless instead of cosigning a cheap tenancy (shit real estate, muh bs income/rent ratios) even though he knows im reliable and financially astute. they're just completely selfish, they never put any effort in, refused to teach me to drive so i was stuck at home until i called a driving school and just had them turn up so they had to pay. funny how super nice they are to strangers while treating their children like shit. all they care about is themselves, their vanity. you can manipulate them by making them look bad in front of others, they really care about that shit and only then will they do the right thing.

I've given both my shit boomer parents far more than they've ever given me, financially, phones, cars, computers and physical labour etc. Saved my own deposit for a house, got my own loan and paid the cunt off myself. Done all the renovations myself, not once did either one offer the slightest bit of help (while they bend over backwards for their friends and their friends family). It's just what boomers are like, care for everyone but their own (who more often than not they actually passively aggressively resent and hate). Better get used to it mate.
