Chinese housing market looks like on the verge of another collapse
>>
>>61195264
Bullish for gold and silver. Just be ready to get out of the silver bubble when the chinks start cashing out.
>>
>>61195264
There will be no collapse, it will just grind lower for a long time.

Equity holders in developers get wiped, bondholders will get 72% of their money back and so on.

real estate values down, debtors with negative equity, zombie banks, private and local government debt moves onto central government balance sheet through restructuring, lost decades

the alternative is to inflate the debt away but that leads to real political instability
>>
Why don't you short Chinese home builders
then? If you can't then play with Options of Global X MSCI China Real Estate ETF (CHIR)
>>
Remember it is the king that decide the price of his majesty royal estate at any given time. I would say they would likely raise the price when they see fit.

Based. Housing shouldn't be seen as an investment.

>literal state run chinese propaganda and isn't even true
>>
>>61195264
uh-huh sure. this time frfr

It's about as true as western unemployment figures.
I see people at food banks and unemployment benefits at every corner in the western world, but somehow unemployment is under 3% in europe and under 5% in the united states and canada. The government is cooking numbers as bad as china.
>>
>>61195264
what if it crabs for another 500 years??
>>
>>61196293
it *is* true but you have to consider the fact that they're counting 3 generations in the same house as "owns their own home".
basically it means 90% of the population has hukou registration at a particular house. it doesn't even mean they live in that particular house, nor that they own it (but they might have an interest, or their parents/grandparents own it)

"unemployment rate" is only useful to economists
"employment rate" is useful to (socialist) politicians
most politicians are economist wannabes though

It looks like the ETHBTC chart

Affordable housing? That sounds like a nightmare
>>
>>61198351
Yeah, it does. Good spot
>>
>>61198369
Even if the apartment prices drop 50% they would still be less affordable than in the US. Westeners like to whine about housing affordability, but a lot of East Asian cities are so fucked that you have never experienced something like it
>>
>>61196886
Is it unemployment? Or is it UBI? Benefits are so high people don't want to work.
And food banks are mostly foreigners treating it as a free grocery store.
>>
>>61196886
Because unemployment rate in the US is measured on number of jobs not number of people with jobs. with many people working multiple shifts, the fake ass employment rate could go above 100% kek
