For the apocalyptic SNAP benefits shutdown I really like DG. They are up but the last few months have seen investor ambivalence. This mood is ripe for a major souring if tides turn against it. In pic related you see a major bearish descending pattern. With the green line shows that if it breaks it can see 90 a share extremely fast but 80 is very easily possible.

15% of this companies sales are from SNAP benefits so 15% instant haircut seems right. We lose SNAP benefits on November 1st so its not that bad to hold two week out puts.

BBBY still exists as CDNS? what the heck?
Potential upsets I see are Enphase because it is no way they haven't gotten their company back into gear with data centers, this stock has taken a incredible beating but chilled out for 2 months its in a great recovery position.

otherwise this week is your usual Tech Week not sure either way. Maybe RKT beats huge actually, just noticed that.

Holy shit my OPEN asshole will rip HUUUGE if RKT beats.

Moral progress, as Adam Smith envisioned, whereby as technology improved and luxuries gradually become necessities, and the poor come to acquire the refined sentiments and tastes of the rich, is a fallacy. However, economic progress is eternal.

Covid shut the entire world down in 2020 and markets recovered early 2021.

>If my plan is to buy and hold 100 shares anyway, is there any downside to just selling puts every week until it hits my arbitrary price target?
No, unless you expect a dramatic drop off, there is no risk to this strategy. Consult the chart I made this for you. Your total gain with this strat is the difference between (the total area under the orange staircase function) and (total area under the green ETF price line).
So what's the downside? Why isn't it free money? Because obviously you can only do this strat until you have exhausted your capacity to hold 100 shares (for several reasons -- funds/margin, risk calculus, etc.). If in the next 2 trades you get assigned 100 shares each and you have 200 now, do you really now want 300 as well? Insofar, at this point it becomes a pure gamble. But it is not a gamble up to this point.

No, Americana is the original culture left behind mostly by the pioneers. If you went to public school before 2010s surely you had a whole year of history dedicated to your own state's history, local trade and produce, notable figures, and folklore. It's some of the only stuff I retained from grade school because it's genuinely interesting.

Based luddite commie, gotta finish it up with "turn it into social housing" to make sure absolutely nobody takes you seriously. Yeah all data centers, which would include things like basic metadata storage and collection. Just the whole system in general really. Not sure why he's complaining though, this kind of technology does require less people to operate thus we *could* get by with less people, which would solve many of this commie's problems. It's actually kind of anti-capitalist to use technology to have less economic units buying bullshit with disposable income.

What is the point of having trillion dollar companies when your kids have to go to schools with psychos, blue haired loser and the only fun they can have is yelling at video games. Economic improvement should be a sideffect of a cultures choices of how to live. Its scarry to ponder that it might be and thats what lead us here.

That's in a controlled environment where you purposefully select the best, keeping immigration at a low percentage. That's not what we've had in america and europe. Even then it can backfire. If you bring in the smartest and they feel no allegiance to their new country you risk them taking your secrets back to their native land. So you also need a program to ensure that they want to become a citizens and adopt their new countries ideals before giving them access to anything important.

Yes, the difference is, that as a permabear, you don't have to do any thinking. You can just pump out your mindless slop, you will always be fulfilling your schtick. You can be a one-trick pony warning of the collapse of the FED/AI/whatever.
Meanwhile, permabulls (and it's not advisable to be a permabull, just be a mostly bull), have to do at least a modicum of legwork. They have to at least talk about what stocks might be performing well in order to have actual content to present.

I guess the difference is the premium bulls pay for being consistent winners in life.

freedom bro, it's literally freedom from religion, and when a man oversteps you just say fuck you bro, no sir, fuck that, it's mine bro, and we're going to fight to the death for it buddy

freemasonry in the civil war south was predominantly a jewish organization, 75% or so, they were tied to the B'nai B'rith, and the KKK

jews were the largest dealers in slaves

the nation of islam series jews and blacks is pretty informative, a phenomenal series really

everything the jews blame white people for being racist they were basically 100% in favor of, Judaism is based on slavery and the right of jews to have slaves

The market seems more random now so even though I have more capital I don't know what to properly do with it to quickyl make a thousand bucks a week. It also sucks when you see a big opportunity like buying UUUU on October 10th when everything dumped but you wanted to get in lower so you didn't buy enough so you missed the mad gains.

We're still in the early stages of figuring out how to use ai. The customer service strategies are the bubble. Manufacturing, farming, mining, general supply chain efficiency, etc is where it will make money.

Small scale nuclear should help with the data center electricity issues. It would also make the public hate the data centers less since they wouldnt be fucking over local electricity prices. It's not a new technology. The government was experimenting with them in the 60s but it became less desirable after the SL-1 accident.

Bitcoiners in the thread. I've been giving this some thought lately. I'd like some opinions.

Going back to ancient times when money first appeard it solved certain agrarian issues. With this in mind money could always be simplified down to an expression of time+labor. You put forth x amount of time farming, the money represents that time, and you can buy crops back in the future with it.

Following that logic i always thought the potential value of crypto was that you could use it as a representation of time+information. Why aren't these major coins being used as a means of storing data beyond transactions? Or am i just off base on my understanding of them?

>>61202439
>entry level stock
wtf does this mean?
>>
>>61202439
I'd say SPY, VOO, or QQQ for entry level
But if you want an actual company, then any of the big tech: GOOG, AAPL, MSFT, AMZN

Well I'm avoiding the nuisances. I'd have to think a lot more about it. I'm trying to keep the thought within the framework of when coins 1st appeared and why people adopted it. Presumably it solved the issue of: I have a lot of crops and no one has anything I need in trade.

Maybe Ford Motor Company (F) or the Coca-Cola Company (KO)? Those are major stocks with straightforward business models.

>cash portable, gold not
the weight of $100k in gold and USD would both be heavy?

>inb4 they mean electronic bank transfer for fiat
they talk about physical durability at the top row...
also i could transfer GLD shares to someone electronically.. idk. or transfer gold ownership papers.

gold is pretty divisible too.... thats how it was used to 5,000 years

btw i dont own any gold

Don't try to portray one side as smart in the post-covid clown market era we currently have. Most bulls don't do any thinking either beyond "buy le dip lmao." Bears are constantly pointing out concrete metrics, reasons valuations are mathematically high compared to the theoretical value / utility of stocks, etc.
>They have to at least talk about what stocks might be performing well
The average bull thesis is "inflation" or "the elites will never let it crash" etc.

The chief content creation officer for netflix also sits on the board of directors for coke. I'm waiting for her to figure out a way to ruin one of the most successful companies ever so i can short it.

Eh, coins are mostly about commerce, not agriculture. Coins were first used in Lydia (eastern Mediterranean, western Turkey), a trading hub for textiles, luxury products, metals, etc. Lots of purchases were happening by weighing chunks of gold and silver. The stamped Lydian coins made it possible to transact without so much weighing.

bears have just been wrong. they will say "goog is overpriced!!" for a decade plus while it goes up 500% and trades at 28 earnings the entire time. they doubted earnings would grow for many companies and they were wrong.

>they talk about physical durability at the top row...
all are considered physically durable (because of electronic bank transfers for fiat). fiat is docked points for purchasing power durability. should prob be a separate category but whatever.
>gold is pretty divisible too.... thats how it was used to 5,000 years
silver coins and others were typically used for smaller transactions.

Perhaps that is a better way of looking at it. Mobility instead.

I woke up from a dream about polarbears and had a thought:
If 41% of lower-middle class people now invest regularly because home ownership is unattainable, then essentially, the SPY wont isn't going to beat inflation.
The only thing that actually might would be real-estate...

Checking the dubs.

I know youre never going to believe this, but I did a masters in nuclear engineering. They are not destruction machines inherently, but misuse (which will 100% happen if you put it in 1000s of private hands) will have catastrophic results. Nuclear in general is great.
Not to mention that even at multigigawatt scales the upfront costs are so large, that it takes over 15 years to breakeven with LCOE higher than current gas plants.

>do you really now want 300 as wel
I would only do this with divvy stocks that I wouldn't be selling (unless theres somehow a massive dump)
Just don't want to be buying stocks like that at ATH.
If I had a spare 60k in cash selling puts on VOO would probably make a decent sum of money
>>
>>61201470
Perhaps, but I think that the government shutdown may cause significant risk to the whole market if not resolved soon enough before the 1st due to consumer discretionary being highly dependent on SNAP funded customers.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised that this is a deliberate one-two punch that is deliberately meant to drive the market down to relieve pressure and provide alternative explanations for what is generally cyclical or caused by the cumulative effects of inflation on debt serviced markets like cars.
