>gold "crashed" to 4k...
>just like btc "crashed" to 100k
>>
>>61206110
Delusional. If you buy 100k worth of gold, you actually have to pay 110k. They take 10%. Now if you bought an ounce of gold for 4350 dollars and you want to just break even when selling you will have to wait until price hits like 4800 dollars. Given if gold actually topped this would mean you are now having to hold the bag for 10-30 years. KEK.
>>
>it might be 7% up this month and 50% up this year but as you can see it's down for the last 5 days so it's over for goldfags
>>
>>61206215

What is the use of gold if not it's price in $?
>>
>>61206685
that's the entire fucking point, not if but WHEN the USD finally shits the bed (i.e. all the other countries' central banks deciding the US currency isn't worth shit) they'll demand Gold as security instead. BRICS and friends pushing deals without USD already means tons of USD gathering dust are being traded back to the US for wares or services, with no need for new USD to keep the value up.
It's in freefall. Gold is the traditional backup currency, and the chances of it being replaced by bitcoin and adapted by boomercore central banks are arguably very slim.
Their shit still runs on COBOL for fucks sake.

What kind of retarded country charges a flat sales tax for gold and not capital gains?
>>
>>61206909
One deep in debt that fears capital fleeing somewhere else.
>>
>>61206909
most of them do just to make it a worse investment.
Basically Governments know that the Price of Gold in their FIAT Currency is 1:1 the "market feeling" of how much their Currency is worth in actual value. This may as well be Big Macs, but if you actually used burgers like in a cross-currency evaluation (look up big mac index, it's real) the government would have to regulate McDonalds pricing as a financial institution, which while funny, would be very anti-capitalistic.
Gold belongs to everyone and nobody. Gold has tradition. The current buying power of currencies can always be evaluated in Gold.
Keep in mind that paying full dollars for something is a quite novel thing, not even 50 years old.

Looks like now is a perfect time to buy in before it goes back up again

the MONEY part of gold is its price
fiat or not, it must be put into an orderbook, and the market will decide on its value through price discovery

all orderbooks are digital
so in your wildest dreams, Gold gets settled through paper versions of it, digitally, to find its market price
>trusted third parties are the future
and that's why you lose
>>
>>61206909
What do you mean country? Every gold vendor in the existence of the history of earth charged +10% on the actual value. How else would they make money? By selling gold by stock price?

how does that make my statement any more invalid though? Do you not find it ironic that Trump is shidding and fardding because of some fucking söybeans Choina stopped buying? This isn't even about Ruzzia, just China and Brazil are two economies who can shift the power balance if they take the US out of the equation, and China proves it can fuck with the US' backyard with impunity, without military, and without even extending Silk Road 2.0 there.
The fact you don't hear that shit on the news at all should tell you everything.

I don't even doubt they'll fuck us over, and any goldbug worth his investment is prepared to take his shinies to other countries for arbitrage. But the fact they'll have to play dirty to hide their soiled diapers is vindication enough.

It will stagnate for the next several months before rebounding people are currently profit taking and overly optimistic due to Trump's comments about a potential China-US trade deal in the coming weeks
