Goldbugs believe that the world is falling apart and everyone must buy their preferred shiny metal but do they really need to why not PalladiumAnnoying dusty niggas that think they're going to be running shit with their 2 kg of gold bars while they shit on everyone else who outperformed them for the last 20 years
>>61208510While their stupid retarded delusinonal "this time it's differnt" antics are stupid and retarded and delusional at least they're saving money.Althogh lets be real:Most of them spend of life time hoarding this shit only for them to die and some profligate nephew or cousin spends it all in month.
It's easy to tell who on /biz/ has never actually even touched gold before always describing it in giant kilogram bars that are $125,000+

>>61208510poltards were psyopped into putting their money into bank rocks, simultaneously neutralizing their own capital and putting it to work for the banks. very effective
>>61209261It only helps the banks if you buy the ETFs. The banks use the ETFs to short metals and then buy the metals back on the dip they caused. When companies like Blackrock and Strategy own most of the BTC, they'll also be able to abuse this scam very similarly.

>>61209297I bought gold at $2000-2500 and BTC at $25k-40k.
Talks about having low IQ, but can't even type "kek" properly or use punctuation.
>>61208510>Goldbugs believe that the world is falling apartNah. They believe that central banks issue fundamentally unsound money with inflation built in as policy, which is true. Gold doesnt generally go up in price, the value of currencies it is compared against are just going down. So instead of storing your savings (not investments) in a currency that is always depreciating in value it makes sense to hold it in gold, which is preserving its value, which is the entire point of SAVINGS to begin with...Imagine your great grandfather burying $50k in a box in 1950 for you to find in 2025, that $50k in 1950 would have been an insane amount of money. If you dug up that $50k in Federal Reserve notes today, its not nothing, but the vast majority of the value of the money has been eroded away. Gold prevents this. Gold is not an investment, it is a preservation of value.
Idk. If you have like a million dollars it would be stupid to not drop like 20k to 30k into precious metals. Its like having 2 to 3 weeks of non perishable foods in your house as a back up when a hurricane or blizzard hits and you cant find readily available food nearby. If i made 100k per year the most i would do is buy 2 ounces of silver per month and then convert a portion of my cash into metals when the price drops back down.Metals are an unproductive asset, as a hedge against inflation, it doesn't mean you'll beat said inflation for holding.
>>61209479Great point, why the hell would you not hold at least some at this stage of late stage capitalism?
Also you can hold more than one asset, anyone in crypto should hold some metals too. I hold BTC, Silver and some alt coins.
>>61209661Late stage capitalism is just capitalism+internet

>>61209667Why silver and not gold
>>61209725>"Ridgers could be here"
>>61208884They're not a scam, it's just that the scenario you envision where the dollar, euro, yuan etc. lose their value and you become a trillionaire in goldworld isn't going to happen.
>>61209676Not interest.internet. A bunch of css and javascript can be worth billions. Thats late stage capitalism.
>>61210002A bunch of code can have massive ramifications on productivity. Requiring more money than exists to pay interest on the price of printing your currency is not the same
