When telling my dad about trying to invest some money to try and make some he said it was a dumb idea but offered me a deal and said he would match whatever I was able to turn 1,000 into. So I can put 1000 dollars of my own money into anything and by Christmas 2026 whatever I had from that he would give me. So if I turn this 1000 bucks into 5k, he will give me 10k, if I lose half and only have 500 bucks, he will give me 500 bucks towards and new car.I get that 1k is fucking nothing when it comes to investing but I'm a porfag and my car is probably not gonna make it another 2 years - what the fuck should I do with the money to make the most I can in 1 year?!

Calculate a reasonable price target for the SPY or BTC or some other stock or index a year out, go up a bit until the call options get really cheap and load up at that strike price. If the price shoots up significantly in the next year then you can sell the options at a good profit or if you hold to expiration you can settle and get a bunch of the underlying and sell it at the higher market price.
