The 1996 is really special, it's the key date, I don't know what it sells for now, but it was selling for $60 back when Silver was $20.

Over the past 25 years silver in particular tends to dip in price in November before climbing from January through March. This is mainly due to industrial demand with some cultural demand. It also tends to climb in September and October, mainly due to cultural demand. I'm planning on stacking a bunch more early in November and then getting more premium silver pieces in December if prices stay steady.

>>61211563
Lmao a stacktard who knows the future, lmao too dumb to profit from it,,,lmao why are they all like this

Here's a seasonal chart of silver from 1986 to 2016, which is similar to the 2000 to 2025 chart:
https://www.seasonalcharts.com/classics_silber.html

More recently, Asian demand has grown much stronger than it was in the 80s. So, the September-October bumps are bigger. But January to March/April is the longer yearly run.
>>
>>61211637
And here's the gold seasonality chart, 1986 to 2016. It basically is the same, growing from the beginning of the year to the end, with a sharp dip in late October/early November like we're seeing.

The 2021 Canadian Werewolf 2oz silver coin from the Creatures of the North series is my first thought. I've seen horror movie rounds, too, but the werewolf is classier.

Every day gold and silver becomes 2-4% more cheapies. What a great thing for gold and silver investors. I plant to invest my grandma’s savings in today’s cheapies and then my mom’s savings in next week’s 30% lower cheapies. Everyone gets cheapies!
>>
>>61211795
Because gold and silver are for preserving wealth, not making a gazillion dollars one month and killing yourself in a Lambo the next month. I dedicate a fixed amount every month to stacking gold and silver - when the price spikes, I stack less. When the price dips, I stack way more. My total stack always stays ahead of fiat this way, regardless of what the market does. If I wanted to do pump n dump investing in a shitty altcoin, I'd invest in a shitty altcoin. And a small part of my portfolio does just that. But I take my gains and put them into tangible, inflation abd crash proof assets instead of rolling the dice over and over.

Not a bad plan at all if you want to make sure their money is 130% or more of what you put in two years from now. Inflation can't touch it. Crises can't touch it. The whims of the stock market can't touch it. That's a smart plan.

>>
>>61211847
Can you think of a time in human history when a stock, bond, business, currency, crypto, industrial commodity or agricultural commodity - hell, even a piece of land - dropped to zero and became worthless for the rest of time? Sure you can. Multiple examples of that happening to all those kinds of assets exist.

Can you think of a time when gold or silver lost all their value and became worthless for the rest of time? Any time in the past, say, 5000 years? No. Because gold and silver can't become worthless.

So maybe to someone accustomed to the bipolar ups and downs of shitcoins, a tangible asset dropping to where it was 6 weeks ago after several months of gains seems terrible. How could you reliably pump and dump something like that over and over? That's the neat part - you can't. And next November when gold falls 6% to $5000/oz and silver falls to $65/oz, you'll call it a crash. And the next year. And the next year. Gold and silver don't care.

>Silver crashed to $11 in covid; did worse than most assets
It "crashed" from around $18 to $11 for less than a week, and two months later it was trading above $25. Tons of people sold their silver to cover bills, industrial demand dried up, inflation spiked and in the span of about 3 months silver still gained ~27%. Thanks for reminding me how awesome it was.

Gold miners? Maybe/probably.
Silver miners? That's hard to tell. Most silver is a byproduct of mining for other metals, like copper, lead, or zinc. Both copper and zinc futures are down right now, but with rate cuts on the way to try and stimulate the economy maybe those multi-metal mining stocks will tick up a bit. Sometimes it takes traders a couple of days to figure it out.

If there's somehow this cosmic redemption of you guys slurping cheapies at $20 again and it seriously moons, then jee-whiz, I'll just accept my God damned Mark of the Beast digital currency like everyone else.

You're really going about this ass-backwards anon. Literally just sit on your stack until next September - hell maybe just February - and you'll be fine, really. Most of us repeatedly remind newbs that pm's aren't altcoins, you don't flip them multiple times a year, and they always appreciate in value relative to fiat over time. Silver and gold responding to changes in global demand throughout the year in the same way for 50 years isn't "copium" it's how the market consistently behaves. Banks change their positions around this time of year and industrial outlooks for orders for next year don't begin until December. A billion Asians always buy for holidays in late August into October. Just have a little goddamn patience.

I've got a comfortable enough stack for my needs, which is around 6 months' worth of fiat bills for surviving, which also happens to be keeping up nicely with inflation. I will be rotating whatever GoyBucks I do have into crapto and occasionally buying metals with whatever surplus I might get. My main fuck up was putting all my eggs into physical metals.

HOWEVER

I am so so so glad I didn't buy into the miners meme. Thank sweet merciful Allah, I'd be shitting blood right about now.

It does kind of depend on which dealer, though. Some have low premiums right now, others are up. And it depends on the item, too. My impression is that premiums on listings on ebay are much higher than most of the big online dealers right, which is kind of backwards. Some of the smaller dealers had great premiums in the run up, but are lingering higher now. Point is you gotta shop around. There are spreads of $140 between the premiums of on place to another on a couple kinds of 5g gold bars for example, and a range of 4% to 10% for certain 10oz silver bars I monitor. Things will stabilize eventually.

There was people mentioning a dip at least a couple times every thread, while posting pictures of past charts showing that there's a dip after big rises.
But man, it's weird having one this sustained and fast. I know it's all paper being traded in the end, because nobody's selling their silver under 50, but it's just so weird that a commodity could go from 54 to 45 in less than a month. This was what they're talking about when they say "commodities are volatile", they were just talking about blatant price manipulation.

So, you guys are fine with losing purchasing power to inflation? I mean, let's face it, the USD has lost at least two-thirds of its purchasing power since silver first hit $50 during the Hunt Brothers thing in 1980, and at least a third since silver again hit $50 back in 2011.

But yeah - it's over. You've got it out, no more "should I buy now or later" anxiety.
I haven't had the balls to take that step.

Agreed.
Still... don't forget your 401k should also rise in the time it takes for dollars to devalue to that spot.

I'd rather have silver locked away than fiat that can be stolen at a button push. You think it's your fiat in their custody? It's theirs with your claim on it. 2010 Dodd-Frank Act, take a look at it. All deposits can be used to bail in the company.

Still at least get the match. Then you can do taxable or just in other assets if you want. I doubt this will be concluding in a year or whatever.

Even in the best case, fiat isn't money. It's credit. How can I prove it?

Can they pass a law making this current issue of fiat worthless (not legal tender anymore) just like the cancelled redemption of gold and silver certificates?

I hope gold and silver dumps to 1990s - 2000s prices, cause the physical supply would be gone within a month at those prices, and we would literally see silver and gold priced out for the 'normal' population shortly after physical is gone afterwards, only reserved for banks and manufacturers

I'm hoping to grab another 30oz of silver next week and another 20oz in December, depending on the price. I have a fixed amount dedicated to pm's every month. If my volatile crypto investments spike I may rotate out of a chunk of those and pick up some more. Depending on where gold is between now and mid-December, I'll probably add an ounce or half-ounce there, too.

Norway out of kilo silver bars/coins.
>Who will get the last kilo coin in Norway?
>For about a year I have been tracking kilo coins in my country from 11 different dealers. There is now only 1 available here at Goldsource (and one without price at Verdihuset + some of those $2500-$3000 coins).
My bet is that this one is gone within 24 hours:
https://www.goldsource.no/kolleksjoner/solvmynter/products/koala-soelvmynt-1-kilo-2013-i-kapsel

>There are still plenty available in the secondhand market (Finn.no etc), and the dealers get in some kilo coins now and then.
>However, it is worth noting that it seems dry for refilling at the dealers.
>Norsk Mynthandel seems to be far bigger than the others when it comes to kilo coins, often refilling with 100 kilo coins when getting low stock. But now they are sold out, even for pre-orders,
>https://norskmynthandel.no/product-category/solv/1-kilo

>My point with this post is not fearmongering, there will always be coins available (especially in the second hand market). My point is that I cannot see any refilling at the dealers, which I have never seen before. This just confirms what I hear from around the world: The retail market also is getting tight now.

After making the shrek box I spent this afternoon toying around with a modular system but you can't really interchangeably fit silver ounces, silver dollars, half dollars, quarters, and dimes in a defined container without wasting a bunch of space.

I think the answer is designing a container that perfectly fits one type of tube such as a storage box that holds 6 20 count square tubes. If I actually kept a stacking routine I wouldn't have such a schizo pile which would help further organize.

On this general 90% of anons fall into one of two categories: anons who understand and appreciate investing in precious metals, and crypto bros whose experience in investing in crypto is mistakenly extended to all other forms of investing. The pm investors here range from anons who only invest in gold and silver to anons who simply incorporate gold and silver into their portfolios. The crypto bros are all or almost all in crypto, and can't seem to understand concepts like holding an investment, inflation, or tangible assets which cannot and have never become completely worthless. They can't understand an investment which never places an investor at risk of losing it all. However, since they deal with volatile whims of the crypto market, hype brigading, and regular pump and dumps which are part and parcel of crypto investing, they are compelled to dismiss or dissuade investments in anything other than crypto - if public interest ever starts to turn away even briefly, the crypto markets bomb. What's the common knowledge cycle of this happening in crypto? 3 to 4 months? (I'm not being a dick, I'm just guessing because I don't actually follow them.)

So, when you make statements about gold and silver crashing and taking half a lifetime to recover, then dismiss recent historical examples showing the exact opposite of that, it tells me that you're ignorant of the history behind gold and silver prices and at the very least unwilling to learn. This suggests you're not a gold and silver investor; and, since 90% of anons here fall into one of those two camps noted above, it suggests you're a crypto bro. If not, my apologies for insulting you, and see below for an explanation why gold and silver remained flat for almost 20 years from the 80s to the early 2000s - which is the "prices stay down for half a lifetime" I assume you were referring to.

>How much is the penalty? What will you need to break even?
The actual question is how old you are and whether or not you'll cash out before the next crash. If you're 30 or 40 you're a fucking retard for thinking it's gonna sit there for 25 years without the market shitting itself at some point. If you're up at 50 it's a maybe.
>But what about the 40% loss?
Timing ONE (1) market correction right and taking advantage of it immediately negates this, the past has shown this countless times. Even just cashing out 25% of it means you've avoided a great amount of loss and you've caught a bunch of gains if something happens, and you can DCA your 401k so you're still in both markets no matter what.
>>
>>61216375
(continued)
Gold and silver remained flat in the 80s and into the start of the 2000s because in the 80s the dollar was strong, interest rates high, and bonds were a great safe asset. With the opening and eventual collapse of the Soviet Union, geopolitical tensions cooled. Tons of money and commodities that had been tied up in the Cold War were unleashed. Then, by the late 90s central banks were selling off their gold reserves because with economies booming and "the end of history" following the fall of the Iron Curtain it clearly meant that no one would ever need gold again. And, silver followed suit as it often does. New printing technologies and the dawn of the internet began silver's exit from imaging industries as film and photo plates began to lose demand.

But it wasn't the end of history, and the global economies were going to ride the post-Cold War and then dot com bubbles forever. And thus gold and silver continued their steadily increasing valuation as they had for centuries before. Unless we have another end to a decades long divided world, Cold War situation with two halves of the world supporting competing economic ideologies locked in opposition for a lifetime, what happened to gold and silver in the 80s and 90s simply can't happen again - at least, not for another 50 or 60 years at the soonest.
>>
>>61216445
Addendum: Let's not forget that countries around the world also began replacing the silver currency they had in circulation, gathering it, melting it, and reselling it on the open market. Again, something which can't happen today.
