i go there every few months. the crypto to cash exchanges explicitly block Americans and a lot of the banks will block you from making a new account. your best bet is to bring cash (they need to be new/perfect bills or they will reject them) then exchange that for rubles at a bank. don't exchange at the airport you will get a bad conversion rate.
