They also cannot fathom thinking or planning for things more than 30 days in the future let alone thinking or planning 30 years into future. You can try to help these people but they usually either have a million excuses or just straight up give up or lash out when you start getting into the details of their finances and spending habits. I’ve tried to help many brokies stop being broke, and they just don’t wanna hear it. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink and all that.

That's ok, because the dealership'd business model isn't to sell cars. It's to rent cars out for a down payment, then repossess the cars when the monthly payments dry up. The guy that owns the repo company is either the same (black) guy that owns the dealership, or else a close associate of his. Having repossessed the car, the dealership spit-shines it and puts it through the cycle again and again until it can no longer be salvaged.This is bad for black people, but it's also perpetuated by black people.

But beyond that I think credit in general should be much more restricted and selective to who gets access. They try to get customers to focus on how low their monthly payments are instead of the total cost of the loan. When I bought a car a few years ago the salesguy was irritated when I told him I was paying cash since they get a bonus for convincing people to finance their car with a shitty interest rate.
