That place looks a little on the crappy side for the price, so unless it's in a tourist hotspot I'd probably do some more searching.2. There are a lot of fun things to do in Thailand. Bangkok has some great restaurants and lots of neat sights to see. Pattaya has a lot more than just hookers, there are also boating/fishing charters, the beach, shooting ranges, and cheap buses to the rest of Thailand. The Andaman islands are absolutely gorgeous.3. It is no longer easy to stay there for the long term. The government got a major dick up its ass about ending the permanent tourist visas. They change the visa rules constantly, and frankly none of the long-term visas are really "cheap" or even a good deal, because the government can just change the rules and fuck you out of your visa. Back in 2020 during COVID, lots of people with their "Thai Elite" visa were told that they weren't allowed back into the country after a mandatory border run. This included people who owned condominiums there, people who had jobs there, and people who had retired there.4. Because the high-value Western tourists have gotten tired of being fucked around over their visas, the Thai government has tried to suck up to other tourists. First it was the Russians back around 2009, then the Chinese, and now it's the Indians. The Thai government officials who come up with these "let's appeal to Pooinloos!" ideas can't seem to wrap their tiny little pea-sized brains around the fact that none of these groups are able to spend even 10% as much as a middle-income Westerner, AND Westerners really don't want to have to step over piles of shit on the beaches from where all the Indians who camp on the beaches crap in the mornings.5. Please don't make the mistake of thinking Thais are friendly. They are poor and want your money. A lot of them resent the fuck out of rich tourists.

The minibus drivers get paid jack-shit and use amphetamines to work insane numbers of hours just so they can make a living wage -- which results in an absolute shitload of accidents. And those minibuses are fucking deathtraps. I remember randomly seeing an article about all the deaths in one short period, because the minibuses are packed full of people practically sitting on top of each other, then the doors get jammed after a crash and everyone inside gets incinerated when the gas tank ruptures and burns.
