How can the German automotive industry keep having its reputation of high quality products if most of the production of their goods are outsourced and come from a global supply chain? The majority of the manufacturing process is done overseas, the only thing done within Germany itself is the assembly part. There used to be a point in time where the products they made were actually of high quality given the fact that the entire manufacturing process was actually done within Germany, something that hasn't happened now for a very long time. Can the Germans sustain an ''industry'' based on a legacy alone, and not actually provide products that are high quality as they have had the reputation for in the past?

I guess old people with calcified brains cant process new information anymore so as long as they are alive they think german cars are special. But its going down the drain fast here with car companies.

Because everyone believes in brands instead of where the material is sourced

Overseas manufacturing doesnt necessarily mean its not high quality, these days are long gone

Even just assembly makes a difference though, just look at tesla, they dont even manage to assemble their parts correctly and do QS

The same way Ford is an "American" car despite being built with outsourced parts in some cases in Germany.
Same problem with German tools made in Hungary or Poland
