We don't even need to get to there. We just need fiat failure, which is more likely.
>>61249591Okay u want more at a cheaper price, but dont have to be a nigger for that!
>>61249591i think you need a signature in order to brute force the private key with quantum computers. if you send coins to an address that has never been used so far then they're safe, which is probably true for most of satoshis wallets.
>>61249591>it's easy bro just make a quantum computer>it's easy bro just crack sha-256 with quantum buzzwords!lolwhat would be more likely and hilarious is satoshi hates seeing what bitcoin has become and just dumps his wallets on the market for cheapies
>>61249644look up pay2pubkey
>>61249591this but unironically
>>61249691ah okay, so the pub key isn't revealed until a tx is sent in bitcoin (p2pkh). so satoshis coins are safe until hal finney wakes up from cryo sleep.
>>61249748No. Early satoshi coins are in p2pk addresses and p2pkh only got added later.
>update code to exclude compromised wallet>everyone updates their node>literally nothing happens

>>61249774well, that sucks.
Bitcoin will fall with SHA2No hard fork can save Bitcoin from that95% of my net worth is in Bitcoin
>>61249848It's a meme anyway. Assuming QC even scale beyond Quantum utility, if the assumption is that someday we know ECC is going to die with absolute certainty, then exposed funds will be made unspendable after some grace period. That can be done via soft-fork so it's no problem. You could also limit how much can be spent in a single block and turn it into a new block reward which would solve the mining problem.the actual QC fud is that we'll need massive signature and address sizes. And hash based signatures don't have pretty mathematical properties. Forget about computing your addresses from a master pubkey for example.

>>61249591Satoshis wallet was not hacked. Quantum is a meme, fucking useless for at least another 10 years.
