Doesn't tarnish.
Denser than gold.
Carries greater value than silver.
Far more resistant to damage.
Speculation metal: Hydrogen engines may become common, and currently Pt is an essential metal for that.
But yeah - distinctly grayer than silver, so will not have that asmr effect a brand-new sparkly silver coin has.

bros i tried to explain my wife she should stop saving her money by extracting it from her bank and putting in a box at home. we have seperate incomes and seperate banks, we don't even live in the same household, but in the same town.

I showed her my silver purchase order from late 2021 and one just last month ago. the price of silver doubled but i lost money because i paid 80% premiums on ASEs and inflation has been 90%. Also showed her my income from work from the same dates, late 2021 and 2025 last month. I earn only about 60€ more because i stupidly thought silver would save me. further I explained to her by placing a 5€ note on the 2021 paper staple and moving it to the right to 2025 that by then it became 10€ from interest i could have earned. she is a bit dense, our young son understood it right away.

How do you convince your spouses to invest in shiny rocks, rather than good investments?

Fren! The new cope is that the rich Swiss Chad is Peruvian. Hope that helps

Anyway back yo my dob story she does save, in good investments. we are very poor, by we i mean me because i bought silver and paid very high premiums because pmg in 2021 taught me that premiums didn't matter and were going much higher. it's just she has too little trust in me because she has big gains and i have bigly losses. we are also in a situation which requires her to empty my bank even further because we both commit social benefit fraud in a sense and i keep telling her to buy atleast some gold and stash it away, she doesn't because she says I'm stupid and she only married me to get a passport

IMHO the term is ambiguous. I know it's supposed to mean a precious metal that isn't TOO precious as to limit its production volume and be too expensive to use, and used throughout antiquity. Might as well just say, "gold and silver" - takes up two syllables fewer, too.
Then there's alumin(i)um. Used to be more precious than gold. More recently, countries have produced aluminum coinage. So is Al a MM?
Copper, zinc, and nickel all have potential to become precious. Bronze and copper were also used in ancient times.
But for the OCD purists here...
>>
>>61252989
Yeah, people can have different opinions about how the term should be used. About whether platinum should be included, in particular.

Russia issued platinum coins in the early 19th century. That's real and somewhat old, but of course gold and silver have much more tradition behind them.

Several US states recognize gold and silver as legal tender, including Utah, Louisiana, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, West Virginia, and Wyoming. These states have passed legislation that either declares US-minted precious metal coins legal tender for transactions or eliminates state-level taxes on gold and silver, treating them as a legal medium of exchange.

Utah:
Passed the "Utah Legal Tender Act" in 2011, recognizing US-minted gold and silver coins as legal tender.

Louisiana:
Passed a law in 2013 acknowledging gold and silver coins as legal tender and eliminated sales tax on them in 2014.
Texas:
Introduced legislation in 2017 to establish legal tender status for gold and silver, with a law taking effect in 2027 that will allow everyday purchases with precious metals.
Kansas:
Passed a bill in 2013 declaring US-minted coins legal tender and tax-exempt.
Oklahoma:
Recognized US-minted gold and silver coins as legal tender and exempt from taxation in 2014.
South Carolina:
The House of Representatives passed a bill in 2013 declaring gold and silver legal tender, with further legislation in 2024 reinforcing this for both foreign and domestic coins.
Wyoming:
Established a law in 2018 that effectively treats gold and silver bullion as tender free from sales tax.
West Virginia:
Passed Senate Bill 502 in 2019, providing tax exemptions on bullion.
Missouri:
Passed a law in 2018 recognizing gold and silver coins as legal tender.
Florida:
Passed a bill in 2025 to authorize money service businesses to accept and transmit payments in gold and silver.

So, faggot, you're wrong

I've reported him like 150 times just this week. He's not a janny - arguably he isn't even people. Jannies get hundreds of reports from across the site every hour. Unless the post has illegal content, in order to get them to enforce rules you basically need enough anons to vote him off the island, so to speak. If he ban evades and the reporting continues, then the jannies will make it personal and it won't take so much to get them to act.

You know what's really funny is that the only glut this world has is human population, even with China faking their population. How much silver will it cost to buy slaves, concubines or wives, or even just day labor? I'm calling 20 ounces max for a modern woman in a prim and proper area like LA. Or in a poor area 5-10 ounces. Humans are the ultimate commodity in which if the world ends people will realize this again. I really believe even electricity and plumbing will be destroyed for the next few hundred years. I hope you all know some Amish or Mennonite families. I myself married into a Mennonite family but they don't know I post here. Which is a shame because they are good people.

One day very soon gold is going to begin going up a little every day (+0.5% or so), and never go down at the end of each day.
Normies won't think much of it until about 2 months of this goes by, and then a good chunk of people will panic buy gold, fearing how little chance it will ever be that cheap again, causing gold prices to increase something huge like +4% per day for a week, then +5% per day.
More panic buyers will have gold reaching +10% per day, then +15% per day as everyone on Earth now realizes what's happening with the limited amount of gold for the ever inflating population of Earth. It will be all over the news as a gold demand and shortage.
Right after this, it will become impossible to buy gold anywhere. No one is going to want to sell it to their best friend, let alone the general public. People will hoard it. Becoming paranoid to the point of every day people wandering out in the dark of night into a forest to bury what little gold they have in a remembered location of a forest because their tiny 0.5 oz of gold is now worth that of a new car so they can't keep it at home.
A few more months of this happening, and then Bill Gates will pay his cronies to locate people's buried gold with ground piercing technology, secretly buy the land his cronies find it in, and then suddenly close off that land to anyone before quickly jacking the gold stashes from it.
After a year or so of this, two fire drakes from the North will arrive in middle Earth, burning villages, and torching Bill Gates' gold-storing island palace, proceeding to bite off his dick, and replacing it with a gold dick after which Bill Gates becomes known as Goldmember.

If you search for low premiums sometimes it's worth it. As gold keeps rising it's worth it over time. Let's say gold is $4000/oz and you can find a 1/2oz coin for $2070. Gold only needs to rise 3.5% and you're good. A 1/4oz coin at $1048 would need something like a 4.6% rise. Personally, I don't care about trying for the numismatic bonus that coins provide and just assume that I'll get a tad under spot for whatever I'm selling anyway. So, again assuming a spot price of $4000/oz, if I can find a 5g bar for like $680 or so that works out to $4230/oz and would require a ~5.75% rise. Since we're all holding gold for the long term and there's no hope of inflation reversing, 4% to 6% premiums now don't matter much later. I DCA silver no matter what, but buy fractional gold on the dips.

Sometimes you can find even smaller fractional gold for cheaper because everyone overlooks it - they expect the premiums to be too high. I recently saw some 1/10oz pandas for $410 when gold was around $4000/oz. I also saw new Maple Grams for like 1.5% over spot sit in a reputable online shop for a week last month. Just look around, and use price aggregators for comparing prices.

What do you report him for then? It could be both trolling or spamming so which one. Also we know where his practice used to be in Peru. He really is a fucking loser.
>>
>>61252511
I absolutely see the appeal of platinum, palladium, and rhodium. And gold of course. They are fascinating materials, beautiful and alluring. But i just literally don’t see them as a viable alternative to silver from a practical value stacking perspective because
- they’re expensive
- not very divisible
- hard to recognize/verify
- not as undervalued as silver
- not used up as much as silver

But if there’s a case to be made for the other metals I’m certainly willing to hear it

You report him for the rule being broken. If he's trolling, report him for trolling. If he's posting the same text over and over in a thread, report him for spamming. Sometimes he just posts something kind of annoying but plausibly normal, like this from earlier:
>Silver has the same problems,,,,,but everyone in the world knows and loves $$$$
Is he still trolling? Of course he is. Does it look like trolling out of the context of the thread, like what a janny sees reviewing a report? No. So that one less-obnoxious post he makes out of 14 or 15 isn't worth reporting.

When no one replies and he just trolls and trolls trying to bait anons, that's when his rulebreaking is most apparent - he's not engaged in a conversation, he's clearly just baiting to troll. So don't reply and just report those.

That capsule makes it cringe. You should toss it into your dedicated 0.999 silver treasure chest (properly equipped with desiccant packs and anti tarnish strips) on top of your other .999 spoils like a true pirate. Regularly handling your treasure is good for the mind, soul and body.

Reminder to not mix metal — they’ll galvanically corrode if you do. 90% silver, .9999 silver, and gold all go in different chests.

Here is a pretty amazing video on the crime of 1873. The money elite's interests are diametrically opposed to that of the masses, You can't split political parties as left vs right when the real issues are between classes. The elite want to make money from money and be rent-seekers. By removing silver from the money supply, they can vastly restrict the people's access to money. This raises interest rates and promotes debts and financing as the new normal for economic activity. All so they can rent-seek on the tax cattle.
Despite what libertarian ideals state about sound money and the value of businessmen, the money elite, bankers, all need to be viciously controlled with draconian taxation until they are reduced to mere high class individuals whose pockets are not bottomless. And if they so much as raise an eyebrow in protest they should be strung up by their necks and hung until dead, legally and with due process. For the safety of mankind. Sabotaging humanity is in their interest and they have happily acted on it with impunity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgIy6eZPRmQ

Yep, the big players are pulling their money out of stocks and suppressing gold to prevent retail from rushing in. Same thing happened on friday and then gold went up after when they switched their position to gold. Gold will then dump near the end of the day to reset for another play.

They're going to keep repeating this pattern until they're all out of stocks.

>yall
It's a contraction of "you all" - y'all.
When spelled properly, it's a colloquialism that fills a gap in the English language: a plural "you".
Written examples of "y'all" have been found in 17th-century London works, predating its appearance in the American South.

I'd recommend it. You can always destroy receipts. It's much harder to retrieve them.
If you ever go to sell and the buyer will for whatever reason declare the sale to the gov't and you end up getting taxed on the profit, you need the receipts to prove how much you paid to subtract from your new sale.

Short squeezes are some of the nastiest market phenomena there are. Shorts all dogpile the same stocks and they go long the same stocks as well. Their intent is obvious in that they don't want to ever close, and they don't just wantonly pick stocks to "short" just because. Ask yourself, if NVIDIA has a $5TN market cap, think about how EASY it would be for shorts to pile in and shave off $1TN of equity. Why don't they do it? The answer is because they are caught long in a stock that has ballooned to such an extreme valuation they can hardly exit the position to take money off of the table without causing a meltdown in their margin collateral. Pensions are no doubt desperately trying to position all of our 401ks and pensions into these balloons full of hot air to force us to eat the loss.

I had a weird issue with the laptop I post here with. It's a crappy old macbook that has the issue where the screen cable frays and the screen stops working. I had it hooked up to an external monitor with usbc and after unplugging it to do something else with the desktop that's also hooked up to the monitor, it decided to not work again when plugging the cable back in. Had to wait for new cables this morning. I think it might be time for a new laptop finally :|

It has a decent amount of stamp/die polishing on both sides but I don't mind that much.

I have 2 safes, the cheapest crap you can find at Aldi for less than 100 bux. I'm pretty sure a good slap on the roof and the shit would open on it's own. It's that bad. Thickness wise, it's Fiat 500 door tier. And the metal is of extremely low quality.

PS : don't rely on the digicode, their crap is so bad the battery leaked and i got electrojuice all inside. Only keys are reliable with this chink crap. And if humidity is high, it will condense inside the safe too. It's no problemo for PMs, but if you plan to put papers inside, you better ziplock them in bags.

But tbf i bought these only because my dad REEed about it non stop until i gave up. For me the best protection by far will always be a nice hideout nobody will figure out. Safes are legit useless.
t. 6 figs worth of PMs in the "safes" (honestly half of the stuff is piled on top or around because i'm too lazy to fetch the keys

A safe makes you a target and also gives them a target.

Don't tell people about your stack, don't buy from people who want your address 'for administrative purposes', spread out your stack and hide in plain sight.

My place has been broken into twice which is why I originally didn't want to stack. They took stuff that was visible and checked the most stereotypical places for valuables and left with some shitty electronics worth like $50 and the one piece of real jewellry among my moms hoard of plastic crap. They missed the kilograms of silver that were in odd places.
>>
>>61259501
The average burglary last between 8 and 11 min. That include the escape. Usually they rush to the living room for the electronics/art, the master room for the safe and the bathrooms looking for jewelry. Sometimes a little detour by the garage to see if a double of your cars' keys are hung on the wall or in a pot. That's 1min30 per room, no time to check anything in depths.

If you hide your silver among your socks, under the bed or in the laundry room under a pile of sheets they will miss it 99.99% of the time. And that's really the absolute minimum effort to hide PMs.
If you are a level above that and you hide it in PVC tubes making it look as part of the plumbery near the heater or under the sinks/bathub, it's basically 100% safe. Safer than a random safe in the wall behind a painting or whatever cinema meme.
>>
>>61259644
>If you are a level above that and you hide it in PVC tubes making it look as part of the plumbery near the heater or under the sinks/bathub
If you do this, make sure none of your Silver is actually touching the PVC, Silver can corrode and develop a greem film if it's left in contact with PVC for too long.
>>
>>61259681
Good point, but iirc it's the plastic softeners they inject in the PVC who attack your silver. Hard PVC grey pipes don't chemically interact with silver at all. But anyway it should be wrapped in a sheet or be in a sport bag for potential quick extraction.

To refine, say 100t of Gallium, a byproduct of aluminum refining, you need an aluminium plant on par with Chinas largest one. You also have to then become a world leader in Aluminum sales at a time of historical glut when China can barely even move theirs. The country is stripped of almost all industrial facilities, know how and the tens of thousands of skilled workers you would need for this operation. This isn’t 90% white, world’s manufacturing powerhouse America anymore. That’s just one example. Many other rare earths are similar. Good luck.
>>
>>61259644
They took their time at my place, turned all the drawers out looking for valuables, made a fucking mess. They broke in the same day my alarm system had trouble and the security company called me while I was at work and I told them I knew it wasn't working and that I was going to fix it soon. What a coincidence huh?

Having that system installed just puts you on a list where other people are aware if your home is secured or not. Anything that raises other peoples awareness like ordering a fuck huge safe and paying guys to carry it into your basement puts you on a list of targets.
>>
we found the floor for gold now....... right?
>>
>>61259895
Your first mistake was having a security company handle your alarm system. It’s not hard to diy it. Don’t have it monitored either, just the sirens screaming at 140db will be enough to deter them and it leaves out the risk of your security company being comped. If you want to drop some extra cash too you can hook it up to one of those fog cannons, that shit is truly effective.

>
Token?
Fren, copper is the cheapest of all the precious metals.
Sooner rather than later, the vast majority of pleebs will also be (((priced))) out of that too.
>>
>>61259052
>Won't silver and gold be a byproduct or some of that?
We already have a precedent example for this.

Silver is primarily a byproduct of mining other metals, especially copper. Global copper production has increased every year for the past 20 years except for 2 years when production changes were basically flat. In those same 20 years, silver production actually declined in 9 of those years. Just because silver can be a byproduct of mining other minerals doesn't necessarily mean that increased mining of those minerals will lead to higher silver production.

Increased mining of rare earth elements will have even less of an impact than increased copper mining. Rare earth elements are typically found in different types of mineral deposits (such as bastnaesite, monazite, and ion-adsorption clays) and geological environments than those that contain significant silver deposits. Rare earth mining operations might produce other byproducts like uranium and thorium, or other critical materials such as niobium, tantalum, or titanium, depending on the specific ore body, but not silver in commercially significant quantities.

So, no - NATO developing new rare earth element projects will not contribute any significant amount of new silver to the global supply. However, the investments in the machinery and technology infrastructure needed for these projects will actually decrease the supply of silver slightly as silver is used in building these things.
