why do companies still bother to go public if theyre inevitably gonna get pooomped and dooomped by hedge funds
>>61253602well you see, you're capable of thinking more than a year in advance, this is a rare and unusual trait
>>61253602Because if you can go public at a massively over valued valuation and sell your trash shares to others and make your money before it crashes you win big time, shareholders make back multiple times more then they ever would selling their company privately at a fair valuation. Very easy to hype up retail and use them as exit liquidity
>>61253602I don't care what happens to my company after I sell it. That's not my concern or my problem. Lots of companies go broke. Over a long enough timeline all of them go broke. When I decide to sell it, I give up any right or interest in what the new owners do with it. I have left the building. It's not my company after that.
>>61253602companies are actually going public less and less they can just raise capital privately.
Sometimes the terms that private investors require are way too restrictive, and it’s better to raise money publicly where there’s literally no strings attached.

>>61253602most of them dont get pnd'd thoalbeist
