I can’t believe what a scam 90% junk is. I just went to sell the equivalent of 21.5 ounces of silver and I got $780. So I could only get like 16 ounces of silver back (rounds), and would have been even less for quality silver. I’m slowly siphoning out of it and thankfully I don’t have a lot of it, but it’s going to be funny when GenX boomers in their 50’s who have $1,000+ Face value who are probably going to get half of what I just got at best when shit really starts getting real.

Will putting a silver coin in my water bottle really slow bacterial growth? Like really really? There's not much current in there other than me picking it up occasionally, and brownian motion. Wouldn't you have to push water against it somehow, like in a filter

The most recent circulation coins minted with 5% Silver (at least that I can think of) were the Swiss 5 Rappen issued from 1850-1877. Even at today's prices they have a bullion value of 13 cents.

I mean the pioneers would put Silver Dollars in jugs of milk to keep them fresh for longer and sailors would but Silver coins in their barrels of fresh water to preserve them, so whatever currents created by the movements of a wagon or a ship must've been enough to be effective.
If you abide by the rule of 1 oz of Silver per half gallon of water and walk around carrying your bottle I'd imagine it would be effective.

Online dealers have been putting on constant sales to get rid of their 90% for below spot. Same with lcs. And even before the silver spot increase, dealers were still paying less than spot for 90% if you wanted to sell. 90% is just for shtf barter. Stick with pure silver for everything else

Absolutely. I knew that previously which is why I didn’t go heavy into 90% despite liking it. But it’s pretty funny knowing there are a lot of people out there with huge $500-$5,000 FV junk coins and have probably been holding for a long time and realize they can only get about 2/3rds of the actual silver price. Honestly it’s a tough decision for them I would imagine to get out of it or potentially go down with the ship more or less.

Continued from last thread where >>61259052 said:
>What happens to precious metal prices when the NATO countries start to refine rare earth metals? Won't silver and gold be a byproduct or some of that?

We already have a precedent example for this.

Silver is primarily a byproduct of mining other relatively common metals, especially copper. Global copper production has increased every year for the past 20 years except for 2 years when production changes were basically flat. In those same 20 years, silver production actually declined in 9 of those years. Just because silver can be a byproduct of mining other minerals doesn't necessarily mean that increased mining of those othrr minerals will lead to higher silver production.

Increased mining of rare earth elements will have even less of an impact on the global silver supply than increased copper mining has. This is because rare earth elements are typically found in different types of mineral deposits (such as bastnaesite, monazite, and ion-adsorption clays) and different geological environments than those that contain significant silver deposits. Rare earth mining operations might produce other byproducts like uranium and thorium, or other critical materials such as niobium, tantalum, or titanium (depending on the specific ore body), but not silver in commercially significant quantities.

So, no - NATO developing new rare earth element projects will not contribute any significant amount of new silver to the global supply. However, the investments in the machinery and technology infrastructure needed for these projects will actually decrease the supply of silver slightly as silver is used in building these things.

>>61260056
>who are probably going to get half of what I just got at best when shit really starts getting real
If you'd been following along with /pmg/ threads for the past three weeks you'd have known not to try and sell 90% for another month or two because of the unique situation with refiners needing to produce COMEX bars as fast as possible. It takes 5x-6x times as long to turn 90% into a .999 COMEX bar because it requires refining. Refiners' storage spaces for 90% and sterling were/are full. Refiners were buying .999 and .999 silver bullion because it doesn't need to be refined. It just needs to be melted and poured. The refiners weren't even buying ore. When "shit really starts getting real" there won't be an LBMA to save or banking systems to float, so none of this is relevant to that scenario.

You got screwed and the person who screwed you was you - through your own ignorance and impatience. You had all the info and probably plenty of time, but you threw it away for pennies on the dollar. Next time put some effort into understanding the state of the market you're investing in and you won't screw yourself.

Based. The reason cashing out your 401k sends IQ Dalit into a tailspin is that bankers are very interested in the velocity of money. They were attempting to build an economic "perpetual motion machine". The problem with retail bullion sales is they are savings that are tucked away out of the reach of the banks. Sure, the local coin shop is earning a small fee on each transaction, but the vast majority of the sale goes towards acquiring more metal to sell to more patrons who are not too keen on the paper-ponzi.
Almost every other transaction people engage in fuels consumption or is recycled through the ponzi. Not PMs though.

I wish they'd tamp it to $45 since I accidentally boughted at >$50 and it kind of messed up my average purchase price. Would be ebic to slurp some REAL cheapies. However, I understand that in the grand scheme of things, spot price doesn't matter, only the amount of oz you own.

I mean the punishment should fit the crime. But death penalty should be on the table. Like if you pull a sam friedman level grift, ruining lives then yeah ..you get the fucking rope. No more low sec country club prisons. White collar crimes gonna have you breaking rocks 10 hours a day on the chain gang. No more fucking around where you get a fine that is lower than the profit made from the crime. Actual justice.

I wish they would get it down to $40.
I have been going to second hand and antique shops looking for under value stuff.
I have only managed to get a button hook in the last 3 months.

Today on things that did not happen:

>plenty of online discussion on how refiners/wholesalers aren't accepting
>willingly selling his supposed junk silver

This post was made in less than 10 minutes of this /pmg/ bake. Please don't fall for retarded FUD, new stackers.

How are you so sure about the scraps you're getting are real silver? Does the sigma machine work on random scrap? I would consider doing this but I also don't want to waste my time/gas.

As long as the relative values float, it will work. And should be easy with modern electronics. But trying to link them artificially will be a disaster.

Hallmarks is what I look for and places that look understaffed. Because they won't have time or energy to update everything.
If you are really not sure use this method or have a clear bucket filled with water have something you know is silver and drop both at the same time. If they have the same speed it's good, if it's slower you got junk.

It is usually stamped "sterling" or 925. Companies who made things out of silver usually wanted people to know it because solid silver is more valuable than silver plate or pewter.

his brown skinned tribesmen and ancestors were damn near completely annihilated by being forced to work in the silver mines to feed the lust for shinies by the conquistadors.

peru-monke simply dances because it cant into anything else.
imagine being 4 feet tall, smelly and indistinguishable from an even smellier jeet…

Having a quick reference book is handy.
Most sterling you'll find is UK so you just need to look for the lion, thistle or harp and avoid Epenis.

I was gonna post it in the previous bread but it was at the end so I waited till the new one. And that’s what exactly happened. I’m like wow, 21.5 ounces only fetches $780? And he was like yeah 26x???? And we sell to wholesalers for 33x? I don’t understand all that terminology with melt or how it works
>>
>>61261979
>>61262190
I also fully understand during Covid it swung the other direction. So I’m not totally anti-junk.
>>
>>61262190
If you own 21.5 oz of junk how do you not understand what stuff like 26x and 33x is? That's how junk is priced at nearly all dealers.

bros i tried to explain my wife she should stop saving her money by extracting it from her bank and putting in a box at home. we have seperate incomes and seperate banks, we don't even live in the same household, but in the same town.

I showed her my silver purchase order from late 2021 and one just last month ago. the price of silver doubled but i lost money because i paid 80% premiums on ASEs and inflation has been 90%. Also showed her my income from work from the same dates, late 2021 and 2025 last month. I earn only about 60€ more because i stupidly thought silver would save me. further I explained to her by placing a 5€ note on the 2021 paper staple and moving it to the right to 2025 that by then it became 10€ from interest i could have earned. she is a bit dense, our young son understood it right away.

How do you convince your spouses to invest in shiny rocks, rather than good investments?

Fren! The new cope is that the rich Swiss Chad is Peruvian. Hope that helps

Anyway back yo my sob story she does save, in good investments. we are very poor, by we i mean me because i bought silver and paid very high premiums because pmg in 2021 taught me that premiums didn't matter and were going much higher. it's just she has too little trust in me because she has big gains and i have bigly losses. we are also in a situation which requires her to empty my bank even further because we both commit social benefit fraud in a sense and i keep telling her to buy atleast some gold and stash it away, she doesn't because she says I'm stupid and she only married me to get a passport

He's the same fag who fuds people not to buy more silver because
>if it moons, you won't need nearly as much as you think you do
>if it doesn't moon enough and won't let me retire, stacking was for nothing
>>
>>61262217
What the fuck is there to understand? I bought like $100 FV of junk. That’s like 71 ounces. I don’t know the conversions? Who cares? I’m not a dealer. I’m gonna hang k to my mercs tho obviously.

>goes out and buy junk silver
>gets scammed when selling because he doesn't understand what he's buying
