I can’t believe what a scam 90% junk is. I just went to sell the equivalent of 21.5 ounces of silver and I got $780. So I could only get like 16 ounces of silver back (rounds), and would have been even less for quality silver. I’m slowly siphoning out of it and thankfully I don’t have a lot of it, but it’s going to be funny when Millenials in their 50’s who have $1,000+ Face value who are probably going to get half of what I just got at best when shit really starts getting real.

Why the fuck would you swap in now when we know that refineries are backed up for 6 months with fine silver? Of course it's at shit premiums when it current isn't usable to to make COMEX Bars (Where the real demand is). If you want to offload 90% silver in the next six months you should be looking to do it P2P.

The disgust in 90% is a rare short term phenomenon like a 120 GSR. EVERYBODY likes to have some cheap US fractional for SHTF trading. In extremely rare circumstances refiners might get backlogged, but 999% of the time 90% serves you fine. Sorry if you panic sold yours for a loss.

The reason baggies are cashing out their 401k and sends them into a tailspin is that bankers are very interested in the velocity of money. They were attempting to build an economic "perpetual motion machine". The benefits with retail bullion sales is they are taking savings that were tucked away out of the reach of the banks. Sure, the local coin shop is earning a large fee on each transaction, but the vast majority of the sale goes towards the government in taxes and penalties giving more and more to the deep state to give to more patron ngos who are keen on the paper ponzi.
This idiotic transaction baggies engage in fuels the growth of government, mass immigration and consumption or is recycled through the precious metal ponzi. The fact that it impoverished the baggie is a side benefit that elicits great joy.

Only thing worth flipping that retains its value over time are houses. But most people I know didn't flip houses all their lives at a bargain like my friend's mom did since her 20s. She lived in several houses all her life, moved whenever she felt like it, all paid in full at a steep discount. While banks mostly want those monthly mortgage loans with interest, they are more than glad to take that fast, niche market cash on hand and be done with signing just another house off in their name. She doesn't even have to max out the value when she sells it again because she got it so cheap that way. Many times her buyers thinks she's in the red when she was definitely in the green but just felt like moving elsewhere for the fuck of it, stacking that extra cash the entire time. So, yeah you don't have to be from a well-to-do family or an OF girl to do this. Just be frugal and save, save, save, and always generate that interest. Being frugal in your late teens and early 20's is much better than giving some slumlord $2k a month and get nothing in return. Plus a lot of you fags still live with your mom anyway, so there's no excuse

Tl;dr; /biz/tards trading their 401k in early for that fast money will only likely spend it or gamble it away just as fast as they receive it

I’m not even going to buy any .999 until I I finish filling up my 50 cal ammo box with 90%. I estimate it’ll take about $50k to accomplish that.

As my coins come in I inspect each one and put them into little collector folders that hold the best date/mint mark specimen. The rest go into the ammo can where they can hang out w each other in a safe environment with anti-tarnish strips and dessicator packs.

I only measure weight in terms of loose merc dimes in the ammo can, regardless of whatever else I own. I have about 45 toz now. I’ll post my first pic when I hit 100 toz, which I expect to reach in January.

And after I fill up that ammo can, I’ll start filling up another one with .999 bars and rounds. I’m just going to stack them in there and pour in silver shot to fill in the cracks.

And when that one gets filled with the purest .999 silver in the kingdom? Gold.

Absolutely. I knew that previously which is why I didn’t go heavy into 90% despite liking it. But it’s pretty funny knowing there are a lot of people out there with huge $50-$200 FV junk coins and have probably been holding for a long time and realize they can only get about 2/3rds of the actual silver price. Honestly it’s a tough decision, hard on the ego for them I would imagine to get out of it or potentially go down with the ship more or less when the price inevitably crashes

>same retarded copypasta in every /pmg/ thread
Okay, here's the reply copypasta from last thread you dumb spamnigger:

>>who are probably going to get half of what I just got at best when shit really starts getting real
If you'd been following along with /pmg/ threads for the past three weeks you'd have known not to try and sell 90% for another month or two because of the unique situation with refiners needing to produce COMEX bars as fast as possible. It takes 5x-6x times as long to turn 90% into a .999 COMEX bar because it requires refining. Refiners' storage spaces for 90% and sterling were/are full. Refiners were buying .999 and .999 silver bullion because it doesn't need to be refined. It just needs to be melted and poured. The refiners weren't even buying ore. When "shit really starts getting real" there won't be an LBMA to save or banking systems to float, so none of this is relevant to that scenario.

You got screwed and the person who screwed you was you - through your own ignorance and impatience. You had all the info and probably plenty of time, but you threw it away for pennies on the dollar. Next time put some effort into understanding the state of the market you're investing in and you won't screw yourself.
>>

>>
>>61270055
The exit plan for the 90% is trade only, meaning that I might give the coins to someone in exchange for something like a bike, food, or whatever. But simply go on Craigslist / FB marketplace and you’ll see that 2/3 spot melt value is far too low a price, when you meet in person, it’s more like 5% below spot for a 90% coin purchase. If no one wants to trade me anything for my sliver then it will sit in that ammo can increasing in numismatic and material value, powered by the forces of increasing scarcity and de-valuing dollars, until one of my descendants decides it’s time to barter.

The .999 that i don’t own yet is for possibly reselling at a profit, maybe.

Gold, idk, not that rich yet lmao

options prices in startup-like companies like Archer, Navitas, Serve Robotics, and frens seem to think that the shutdown will be over by 21 Nov. Look at the difference between the price of a 9.5 put on Archer expiring next Fri vs 21 Nov, for example --- the front put is way overpriced. Nobody wants to buy the back put for a price that represents the new (lower) price of Archer.

Many such cases. If i were to put on my business school volatility surface hat, i'd say we should expect the government shutdown to end within the next few days.

how could it not? tarnish is so gross. and if you want to get rid of it, you have to polish it, which results in having less silver, therefore less value. seems like a poor metal to invest in. why not buy something nicer like platinum or chromium?
>>
Gonna slack to $34 then $22 then crab for a decade

tarnish is hella chad, cleaning it has a negligible effect on weight, and leaving it prevents more tarnish

It's a lot easier to tell if silver is legit if it is tarnished. All metals tarnish in their own ways.

Tarnish is a non-problem. First of all, in most environments it happens only very slowly if at all. Second, it doesn't impact value and can even enhance some coins. Third, if it really bugs you, it is easy to convert back to metallic silver through the miracle of electrochemistry with no loss of silver.

Finally, worth point out that silver coins buried two thousand years ago are still valuable today.

this is a weird response. its like youre trying to say looks are only good for telling LEGITIMACY. but whats so great about silver other than its looks? no one uses silver for most metal goods anymore cuz it sucks next to stainless steel, which is pretty and doesnt tarnish cuz of chromium while also being durable.

>so youre saying ppl like silver better when its tarnished?
For me, it depends on the piece. Coinage that has been in circulation shouldn't be cleaned any more than with dish soap and water - gets people oils and grime off it so you can the coin and its patina directly. Attempts to remove patina can cause pits and damage to older coins too. It's a very bad idea to attempt restoring original finish on them.
For generic bars, patina is kind of nice - gives it an industrial look and/or: >>61272088.
Mostly, I prefer no tarnish on my new bullion coins. I love the shine of new silver and will put new coins in capsules to preserve that look and to protect from scratches.
As a buyer of silver, I would pay more for a well-preserved item over a cleaned or tarnished one - even generic. It's easier to let a piece tarnish than to clean one to original sheen. I am sure there are other buyers that fell the same way.

>doesnt silver tarnish get on your hands and turn them blue?
wat lol? no tarnish doesn't turn you into a smurf, and no it doesn't get on your hand. Actually it's super clean, if it was so easy to get rid of sulfur (tarnish) do you think we'd have to prepare magic potions with baking soda, foil, hot water and salt to get rid of it?

>so youre saying ppl like silver better when its tarnished?
depends, it can look a thousand differents ways, sometimes it's gorgeous, sometimes it looks like crap. But on older coins you like having a patina on your coins, it's a testimony of the aging process, but i understand it's annoying on newer exonumia/coins.

>how come silver jewelry never looks tarnished?
becuz tarnish only develop when you don't manipulate silver.
I've a good example of this. At home i only eat with ancient silverware. But i rarely use all the set since i live alone, so in truth it's only the same 5 forks/spoons out of 8 i use all the time.
My set is from 1775 and i last polished it back in 2022.
The 5 forks/spoons i use on a weekly basis looks ultra shiny, like brand new mirror like.
The 3 others who are never leaving the set, they all darkened back (and i mean like pitch BLACK lol), because i never use them.
Jewelry, you usually wear it most the day, so it never get the opportunity to tarnish since you manipulate it.

Btw silver doesn't need to get manipulated much to avoid tarnishing, after all at best each fork/spoon stay in my hand 30min/week. That's much less than say a silver ring/bracelet you'd wear 18h/day.
>>
Also while we are talking food items, i'm desperately looking for sterling chopsticks (2 paires or more, with their reposoir). Ideally hand carved ancient pieces (+150yo), but if not, then i can settle for more recent pieces.
I'm ready to pay up to x2-5 spot price depending on the items and the craft.
>>
ohhhhhh i get it. most of yall silver collectors like collecting coins and youd rather collect silver coins than other kinds cuz theyre rarer and therefore more valuable? or youre like silverware poster who likes owning more expensive/older versions of normal everyday objects. btw its interesting to learn the tarnish doesnt rub off onto your skin. i had heard thats the origin of the phrase "blue blood" but etymonline doesnt back that up so its prolly a folk tale
>>
>>61273822
>i had heard thats the origin of the phrase "blue blood" but etymonline doesnt back that up so its prolly a folk tale
yeah that's certificied bullshit kek. Blue blood comes from the fact the nobility didn't have to work the fields like 95% of the population back then. Thus they rarely had to endure the sun, and were having a very white skin compared to the rest of the plebs. Blue blood comes from the veins you could see on their wrist and hands, because you can see the blood circulating under white skins, but not once you are tanned (since it adds more layers of skins to protect you from the sun).

They are much better with their dram series (same issue, but with a different model, 95% of them being a slight variation of Mulan).

Firstly, I made that post in the last thread. So someone spammed my response in the first post ITT.

What is this mystical SHTF trading scenario where some asshole is willing to accept a 1960 silver quarter but they won’t accept an ASE or Maple?

I’m not selling all my 90% especially mercs. I’ll still keep about $30-$40 Face.

You retards being in a precious metals schizo general are still valuing your shit in terms of dollars.

If someone has 360 ounces of silver and is in the 1%. And let’s say 85% of that is in uncouth rounds and 90%, and they want to swap for ASE’s and Maples and they lose like 25 ounces total ($1,000 USD roughly) and now only have 340 ounces or so. Well, you are still in the 1% basically. And if an ounce of silver converted to the new currency or in a SHTF scenario gets you a weeks worth of living, then it won’t fucking matter one bit that you lost that 25 ounces of weight.

Yeah I took a hit but that hit is irrelevant to my frame of mind of what silver is supposed to and is the reason I’m in it. I don’t give a shit about the dollar value. And I don’t think there is going to be much discrepancy in terms of the end goal between say 300 ounces of silver and 800 ounces of silver because nobody fucking owns silver. Both of them will make it easily based on schizo dreams we all have. I’m just not gonna be stuck with shit silver, and I very well may be wrong. But I’m not gonna risk it.

It’s not 1997 bro. This is the end. It’s all ending soon. And if it isn’t ending soon based on this whole macro economic and geo-political environment then all this really is in the end is a nice savings vehicle to give to your grandkids. Except in the year 2025 A.D. going forward, if I do have kids, there’s a 80% chance my kids won’t have kids, and if they do have kids there’s probably a 75% chance they’ll be troons by 2060 and I won’t want to give them my silver anyway.

I don’t give a shit about maximizing my fiat profits even if I’m putting it back into more silver. I don’t want to be exposed and I’m 90% confident that you are going to have even worse buybacks when silver goes to $100+

I panic sold all of my 90%, and bought .999 instead

I just learned normies are absolute retards that would question old circulation coins, but would be totally ok with something modern that actually has the word "silver" on it.

I quite literally did a Mark Dice tier experiment with normies I know and said "hey this is silver" and they go "huh, how is it silver?" for dimes, quarters, and halves, even dollars. I showed a maple, an eagle, even generic buffalos and they all instantly identified the coin by reading it.

Stacking 90% is my personal 9/11, never again. Not liquid, not even good enough for barter, people are too retarded to know old coins, but are totally fine with rounds.

I am now questioning my old gold coins, and starting to think on just stacking generic / modern made shit, and sell off my old gold coins to replace them with maples or some shit that has the word "GOLD" on them

Dont forget,
Because of grocery deserts, the food riots will begin, and all the niggers will blitz the northern quadrants of every main city seeking the big money areas, They know the whites are a strapped collective so most likely the first targets will be passive and loving indians who will be slaughtered in broad daylight like a Christian in Darfur.
The Indians will even offer the nigger food and money and the nigger will take it and WILL STILL murder the Indian in spite.

Hopefully this will thin the brown hoards a for bit while the whites will sit back in thier panic rooms or gated communities and laugh and grow fat until the government shoves the rioters heads up thier asses.

It would be one thing if I was saying this 2 years ago. But we literally had like a real life scenario where the dealers weren’t accepting 90% and generics to a degree as well. And I don’t give a shit if it’s some temporary bullshit. That tells me when things start getting even hotter that there’s a solid chance I’ll be fucked.

Yea, semeuse 5frs were minted in large numbers and quickly hoarded, which means that even sixty years later, you can still find quite a few of them, not very expensive if you buy them in bulk, and in excellent condition. Some people resell them at a high premium for numismatic purposes.

My own parents have about sixty of them in a small bag that they are keeping aside.

Making the board less interesting doesn't mean I am going to do a 180 on my financial views lmao. Whatever master plan these people have, they didn't take into the account the fact that I am too based to go back to normal society. Discomfort and solitude has become such a normal part of my life that I don't even want to go back and pretend to be a normie anymore. The lockdowns and vaccine mandate bs has backfired on them. I am too used to resisting their psyops. And all I did was literally nothing. I just save up and bought silver. I just stayed home instead of wearing a mask outside. I just didn't go to the doctor when they said I was supposed to take the clotshot. I just didn't go to the theater to watch the latest hollywood slop. Comfy. The last time I went to my LCS was about a couple of weeks ago and shit was packed. I went there at night to avoid the crowd and hoping to quickly collect my order, but turns out there was a queue. Seems like even the normies have caught on. Saw a lady asking about kilo bars. She wasn't the only one either. I think the people who already have tons of cash are looking to get into metals with the FOMO now. A couple of my LCSs have put up minimum buying amounts, so a lot of small orders are unattainable now. Still, I managed to look around and found another place that didn't have minimum orders and got some silver from them as well. I'm literally buying silver every month regardless of what price it's at, according to what I can spend. In a way, the price is just noise. Less than 100 is still cheap.
>>
>>61278047

Less than $250 is cheap. I'm setting a rule though that after $215, I'm buying no more than 5toz a month. Unless I get a large sum of fiat somehow.

I tend to agree. The fundamentals surrounding silver and the laundry list of uses of silver will make your head spin when you size it up against the fact that we don't even mine enough to give everyone a single ounce per year.
I think I saw a figure where 78% of all dollars were created since Covid to present day. People ask how that is possible without prices exploding and the answer is the bond market. That is a looooong ass fucking line to be standing in waiting for "someone else" to pay you value. Where is that value derived from? Yourself of course. You have to pay $200,000 per person to make any of that shit value. Meaning every pool of capital investing in this garbage paper is a sinkhole. It's a ponzi and all of the value has been stripped out, consumed, and all they can do at this point is manage inflows and outflows of capital.

What is $100 dollars anymore these days? The scarcity of money is a function of corresponding debts vacuuming it all back up. We're at the point the government has to deficit spend trillions of dollars just to prevent a crippling deflationary depression. The market cap of new silver mined each year is a paltry $45BN. Absolutely no resource production is increasing at the same pace as dollar dilution.
We are like a junkie spiraling down to rock-bottom. You can say you can stop whenever you want but we all know the withdrawals will hurt so bad you'll probably die. That's not a game I want to partake in.

What would that look like? All of the LCSs would shut down to the public and massive premiums to entice people to sell will be the norm. There would be a long backlog of orders to fill at prices that have nothing to do with the "official" silver price. Gold, at its elevated price, is probably far more resilient to that same kind of scenario. Any pleb can take a bi-weekly paycheck and buy 2 ounces.

I try to explain things to friends and family about money, history etc. It's actually difficult if people are not already predisposed to some of these ideas. They often don't even understand the words and concepts you are talking about.
It was sort of hard lesson to learn, that outside of being able to perform a job, most people overstate how much they know and have zero intellectual input on which their brains can use to come to any conclusion. A consensus is formed by the masses who actually serve to reinforce their own misconceptions. Those who read books that actually go against the grain are leaps and bounds above the intellect of your average pleb. Even the successful ones are hopelessly lost. They view their own personal and private success to their own cognitive abilities when that alone is not enough to understand the broader picture of what is actually happening.

I'm not psychic man, I'm just looking at the chart patterns. Retail is going to figure it out sooner or later and start selling off. The important part is that we still have like 4 years of bull market left in gold and if left unchecked then a generational capital rotation event like the great depression or 1970s will happen.

Watch the Dow/gold ratio to plan your moves.

Thanks for showing the flip side. I wondered how the stacking would shape up - whether a general indent, or like this - a truly shaped fit.

To add on to this statement, what you're trying to do is called "retroactive investing", bitcoin performed well from 2017 to 2024, therefore buying bitcoin at the end of 2025 is a good investment.

To use your own incredibly flawed logic, xerox vastly outperformed microsoft from 1971-1980, therefore you should buy xerox in 1981.

>More of an art piece than bullion.
I agree. Fortunately it is a coin, therefore not taxed as art by my state.

Here 'tis.
That clip was fun to watch.
Side note - my wife was blown away by the art, too.

Isn't that your logic?
Silver performed well from 2024-2025, therefore buying silver at the end of 2025 is a good investment.

What was this $40 spike btw? Was there a headline at 11:30??

My image starts at Jan 1st 2025 my boy, this year. We're comparing the performance of two assets, this year.

You know, the year we're living in?

Are you really unable to pick this up? Why it's silly to say "Bitcoin is a better investment because if you zoom out it performed better over a 5-10 year basis"? We're not investing 5-10 years ago, we're here, now, in 2025. The odds are extremely high you did not buy bitcoin in 2017, let alone 2009, same as the odds are extremely high you did not buy your silver in 2017, let alone 1980.

I hope you're trolling, and not actually this dense that its all going over your head.

You could literally take price charts of Intel and Nvidia in 2022 and use YOUR logic, that Intel is CLEARLY the better investment because it performed better.

Get it now?

I thought you meant the silver dress was the attractive skin suit. My apologies. But if you think about women as skin bags of meat and protoplasm . . . well, I'm not a professional so I will not venture a diagnosis.
