Liquidations will be less in gold as that fell out of favor in the west, eastern markets have a much greater share. Paper derivatives are shown to be less capable in driving price action and more likely to drive shortages and resulting squeezes. Treasuries are seen as worthless, government can seize them if you do something they don't like, if the hyper inflate to deal with debt crisis then holders lose money.
