The mainstream business channels have been talking about the k-shaped economy everyday recently. >top 10% doing 50% of the consumer spending>bottom 90% have cut back many months ago>only the top 10% are participating in the wealth effectHow is /biz/ doing? Please share your stories. Are you in the top 10% or not?Has inflation, layoffs or ai affected you? Have you cut back spending? Seems like we would have a recession if it wasn’t for the top 10%.

all it takes is a moderate downturn on stocks for the top 10% to feel less secure and cut back on spending toothen we're very fucked
I have a job, I have no debt, I stopped buying anything (I would occasionally buy used electronics from Japan but the tariffs ruined that, I'm giving Trump $0), I rent an apartment because I am not a Boomer bag holder, I invest to keep up with inflation, I have no long term plans (why would I "put down roots" when next week I could get fired and have to move across the country, or the government imports 100,000 Somalians and places them in my town?), and if I get cancer I'm going to refuse treatment and give all of my money to my family because Jew doctors are getting $0.
>>61309291That's ok, Trump will give $2,000 to the poors to spend. In the end, this is the natural state of the world.
Honestly, with 90% of Americans cutting back spending and only 10% doing well, I was expecting more stories on biz.
